Regular Member TroyPolamalu79 Posted February 15, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted February 15, 2011 I have talked to many doctors and they are telling me that I only need to take propecia every other day. I am sure it still helps but is it completely effective? I would rather take it every other day but if it is a little less effective it is not worth it. My crown needs all the help it can get. I was alos told Rogaine 5% is fine to appy only once a day. Is this true? Senior Member haircut Posted February 15, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted February 15, 2011 These drugs have instructions for a reason. The drug companies tested them for maximum effectiveness. My suggestion would be to follow the directions.
Senior Member moses0324 Posted February 15, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted February 15, 2011 agreed...just take the med's as directed. it is proven clinically. unless of course you are experiencing side effects in which i would agree with your approach. Senior Member RCWest Posted February 15, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted February 15, 2011 Some doctors have adopted a M-W-F schedule on dosing. I just would rather take it every day. Get you a doctor to write the 5 mg. Proscar and break it in 1/4's. If you shop you can get it for $9 at Walmart for 30 tablets which is 4 months worth! Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? Unless maybe the dosage is high for you or something but to maximize the product and the results, just follow the directions.
Regular Member baldingbro Posted February 23, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted February 23, 2011 I have seen some article on this by Dr cooley. He suggests his patients M-W-F. He has his own rationale for this. My Hair transplantation by Dr Rosanelli
