Whippet
Has anyone used clinics in the Philippines, expec Manila, and have any feedback on surgeons there etc, please? I occasionally take holidays in the Philippines (based on either Cebu or Manila) and assume one can get a Hair Transplant done there at a more reasonable cost than in UK, but are the surgeons any good? Appreciate any feedback or recommendations etc. regards, Mike

Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted April 12, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted April 12, 2011 I don't know about good physicians in the Philippines but I was in Davao in December and was surprised to see hair transplants offered in medi-spas in the local shopping mall along with chemical facial peels and other routine procedures. Don't think I'd go for that. David - Former Forum Co-Moderator and Editorial Assistant I am not a medical professional. All opinions are my own and my advice should not constitute as medical advice. irishguy789
I also go to the Philippines every year as my wife is filipino and I had a hair transplant there recently and am very happy..the name of the doctor is MJ Christine Bunagan and she has a clinic in Davao city. She was trained by Dr. Path in Thailand, and he highly recommend her to me. I had 2100 grafts placed and am very happy with the results so far..I am almost 4 months out and already have more density and the best thing about her is she only charges 40 pesos per graft and will pay for 2 nights in a local hotel for out of towners. 40 pesos in US dollars is about 93cents a graft, which is bargain and that includes all followups appointments and meds...not a bad deal and she does very refined work...for 2100 grafts I only paid $1920 dollars..of course you had to ad the airfare but if you are there already than hey its a good deal..she utilizes the open technique and the trich closure and I cannot even find where the incision was made at this point...her web site is: (Link removed by moderator) check her out.. Uno123
Uno123
Hi. It's been a year since my hair fall started but it seems it's getting worse fast. Now, I have very thin hair. I have tried most of the hair growth shampoos out there but no result. I'm afraid I will lose my hair and become totally bald. I don't want to reach the point when I will undergo hair transplant. I only wanted natural treatment.

Marmite
I have had two transplants with this doctor in davao. Both times excellent results. Looking to do FUE with her later this year. This is a technique she has only been offering recently. First ht was done with Radha in india. That is posted somewhere on this forum Price is competitive. FUE slightly more expensive . spf47
I visited the Asian Hair Restoration Center in Ortigas, the staff were very nice however I really found they couldn't give me the emotional support I needed, went away empty handed and wasted several thousand dollars. I think you struggle to build that level of trust and engagement remotely, and this is the risk with the overseas options. I suspect I will have to wait for gene therapy and that's likely to be China I think.
