Senior Member hair_me_out Posted December 20, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) Question: Is there such a thing as applying too much Vitamin E oil at one time to the recipient area? Or does that not matter? Also, is Vit E oil recommended for use on the donor area? If so, when? Thanks, HMO Edited December 20, 2010 by hair_me_out My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Hasson
Dr. Glenn Charles
I only recommend for patients to use Vitamin E oit in the donor area. I feel that the instruments used to make the recipient sites during the surgical procedure are so small they really should not cause any visible scarring. Senior Member Tonycc Posted December 21, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted December 21, 2010 Great post, Dr. Charles! Would it do harm if it was in the recipient area though?
Regular Member myeddula51 Posted December 21, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted December 21, 2010 post ht instructions per rahal Dry the donor area (stitches) in the back of the head with a clean towel. Drip Vitamin E oil ONLY on the recipient area; do not use your fingers. Make sure all the grafts are covered with Vitamin E oil Apply Polysporin ointment on donor area (scar) 2 times a day for 2 weeks. After the stitches are removed keep applying Polysporin on the scar for another 4 or 5 days. Repeat all steps one more time in the evening.
