Senior Member Spanker Posted November 2, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted November 2, 2010 This question is for those that have taken the plunge from a recommended doctor. I know a lot of people on here have seen hacks before and are now going to see a skilled doctor and I would like to not factor them into the equation of this poll. Thanks! Senior Member aaron1234 Posted November 2, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted November 2, 2010 That's a difficult question for me. My first procedure was done by a recommended surgeon - not a Coalition member - (who is now retired and no longer recommended due to that I believe) and it was a very poor transplant along with cobblestone/piting. My second was done by Paul Shapiro, a Recommended/Coalition surgeon who put me back on the right track. From my own personal experience, there is a large gap between the great and poor surgeons on this site.. not much parity in other words. That's why I think lurkers should really not just assume any recommended surgeon will do a great job. When I first started to lurk here I thought the H&W, SMG, Rahal, Feller, etc. supporters were just HT snobs and that there probably wasn't much difference between all the recommended docs. Now I know how foolish that assumption was. Dr. Glenn Charles
Glad you found your way to the SMG clinic in Minneapolis. Dr. Ron nad Dr. Paul Shapiro do outstanding work. If I ever need work done they would be at the top of my list. Senior Member waveskier Posted November 3, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted November 3, 2010 I'm at 3-1/2 months and I'm not sure yet? It just started to show some growth although still quite thin, but seems to be improving weekly.
