can anyone give advice on soreness in the area around the scar? Today makes 6 weeks, and i still feel sore back there, especially to the touch (like when i wash my hair). most of it is coming from the end area where i guess the knot was made. other than that the grafted area feels great, n looks great... Ive been fortunate enough to have never had surgery before so im not really familiar with this...

HT2 - March, 2013. 2933 grafts.

HT1 - June, 2006. 800 grafts.

as far as my own experiences this is normal, I am 4 weeks out and still feel a little sore back there, and had the same feelings after past HT's as well. Totally normal and can last up to a few months. Hang in there and just make sure to keep it clean and free of infection and you will be fine

I agree - hang in there. Take a look at it to ensure you have no dramatic red spots or discharge indicating an infection. If so, get some antibiotics right away. Good luck.

How big of a red spot are we talking about?? What about a pimple sized one?

I wish I could be more specific. I felt a bit of pain, and then applied some pressure with hot water on a towel at which time I noticed some slight discharge, indicating an infection. I took some antibiotics and applied some cream and within a week, all was back to normal.

Hi all

Keep in mind we just had our head sliced open and a piece of skin removed.. It takes atleast ( for me) 3 months before it feels normal and then another 3 months for the hair to grow back.. It is a long wait but at 6 months I felt 95% normal

Good luck
