  1. 7 month pics look great man!!! It looks awesome with even more growth especially in the crown to come. U should be ecstatic! couldn't happen to a nicer guy!
  2. Congrats again Folica! It looks very similar to my first procedure with Alexander. On people like us he likes to attack an area with dense packing and then move on to the next area and dense pack it. My first HT he approached myself in the same way, by dense packing the front 1/3. It looked great after about 6-7 months but it also made my thin area behind it even look worse(hair greed damnit!) So I went back for my second HT with him and he did the same dense packing to my midscalp area to crown. And now that looks great and am very happy with it but once again that hair greed is kicking in and now I focus on my bald crown! lol. That's ok, my scalp was pretty tight after my last HT so I am taking off more time in between HT's this time, will probably get one of those cool Scalp massagers and most likely will look into going back next spring to fill in my crown somewhat.
  3. Congrats fellow patient of Alexander. Am glad your experience went well. I can't personally remember all the techs except for Sabrina, but I do remember them all being very cute! More importantly I am glad your procedure went smoothly. I know you will be satisfied.
  4. Good Luck tomorrow Folica. I have had two Ht's with Dr. Alexander and am very pleased with both and where they have brought me. I might be going back sometime in the future to get one more small HT to plug some hairs into my crown area. He does very meticulous work and is a very honest individual. I ordered the roast beef sandwich meal for my lunch, was pretty good. Got to sit down with the doc at lunch and just talk about whatever. He's a good man. All the best of luck, not that you'll need it.
  5. As a patient of Dr. Alexander I am very satisfied with my 2 HT's with him. You can check out my pics on my weblog. He uses very small custom blades and does a great job of dense packing. He is very meticulous in his work and is always honest with you. I have heard good things about Keene as well but you should maybe sit down and chat with both of them and see what you think. I will be going back to Alexander in the future if I want to get my small crown area transplanted. But Dr. Alexander did the front third of my hair in my first HT and then the midscalp to the top of the crown on my second and it's a huge difference from my first two HT's with subpar docs. Hope this helps some
  6. Hi Donna. I had a procedure with Dr.Alexander and I agree with gorpy on everything. The Dr. does have those new memory foam recliner chairs that was pretty comfortable, but you still need to get up and stretch every once and a while and the doc is always willing to give you time if you are feeling uncomfortable. The only pain was during the initial shots to the scalp to numb you, once that was done I drifted in and out of consciousness watching movies.
  7. lol, thanks pushing, I feel like an idiot!!
  8. I am searching on here trying to find my last post and am having a brain fart. Can anyone tell me how I can go to my last post or previous posts??thanks!!

  10. I went to Dr. Alexander and have had great results! He uses custom blades to make the incisions and makes your hairline very natural and is quite the perfectionist. Check out my pics and give him a call and go meet with him. If I go back for one more for the crown it will definately be with him.
  11. whoa!!! Stop right there man! You can check take a 5-6 hour drive to Phoenix for Alexander and Keene in Tucson but I highly urge you to stay away from those other two which I have told myself I would never state the names of!! Good luck and take your time in researching before you do anything
  12. I'd travel to Arizona and check out Keene or Alexander. Not a whole lot down there in Southern Cal.
  13. yeah, those suckers can hurt a bit but when I have had them, it was pretty soon afterwards that my hair stared growing in. So just look at it as a good thing and growth is coming soon!
  14. this is totally normal. When your scabs fall off the hairs can be attached to them. But after 10 days the graft is secured and in a few months the hair will start growing again. All you are seeing is the hair not the graft itself. You are good to go! Time for the healing and down time and in a couple of months the hair will start growing! Hang in there man!
  15. Hey Stickersteve! I have had two HT's with Dr. Alexander and am very impressed with both. You can check out some of my pics on my weblog. I might be going back eventually to get my small bald spot in my crown taken care of(hair greed) if the rogaine foam doesn't work. He is a confident guy who takes great pride in his artistic ability to create the best hairline possible. He tells it how he sees it and is very genuine. He makes all the incisions and uses very small custom blades that allow your recipient area to heal very fast. Overall, I am so happy I went to him after getting butchered by another place in the Phoenix Area.
  16. My god Bill! A year or two ago we were dead even in posts! I am quite impressed my friend! It takes a lot of time and dedication to make so many posts but you have truly been a huge lifeline(or should I say Hairline?) to many on here. Keep it up as long as you can!
  17. M & M, Personally I think it looks quite good. But like others have said maybe the pictures don't do it justice. We are all incredibly hard on ourselves, I know for a fact one day I will be like "my hair looks great!" and then the next day I can't figure out why I said that the day before because I start focusing so much on it and literally get inches away from the mirror with overhead lights exposing any flaws. Granted I have learned to not do this so much, but I think we all get obsessed with our hair and get way too critical on ourselves. I think we also need to realize that even the best HT's aren't going to mimick what we had naturally, we can come close but in reality we cannot have the same density we had before we lost hair. Give it the year and then see where you are, and if still not happy and the doc can help take it from there! Good luck man!
  18. I have been using rogaine foam since early December and have been pleasantly surprised. I use to try and use the old stuff and my head would itch so bad and it left my scalp very oily. Well have had no problem with the foam and it dries quite quickly. But have had no itchiness at all, the worst thing it does is leave my hair in front of my bald area stiff like hairspray, but that is it. I haven't seen any huge effect with it so far but I can definately see something happening, not sure if their is new hair growth or what hair I had in my bald spot have grown thicker, or it could be the possible fuzz growth. whatever it is, it has made me putting my toppik on the spot much easier and I just barely sprikle any at all. But a few months ago it was becoming a hassle cause there was no hair to sprinkle the toppik onto and now there is. Who knows, but the bottom line is for me it is an easy regimen and with no side effects I will stay on it for awhile and see if I get continued improvements.
  19. I agree with Mrjb here. Last night I saw Nicholas Cage on Leno and that guy has had some work done and must wear a rug for the back of his head because I believe last year I saw a picture of him in a gossip magazine in the Caribbean with a huge bald spot. His whole back half was bald and his front hair was sticking straight up!
  20. Check out my weblog as I have had two HT's with Dr. Alexander. He ahs done wonders for me and I am very happy with his work. He is very meticulous in his approach and uses custom blades that led to very fast healing. If I choose to go back to fill in my small crown area it will be with him. But it all depends on who you feel most comfortable with. Just as stated above you should visit with both. I found Dr. Alexander to be very confident andhonest in his approach.
  21. very impressive LL! Looks great and you are only at 4 months! The swirl in the crown is nice as well. Enjoy your hair man!!
  22. To throw in my two cents here, and having 3 HT's I would say they pull more from below the scar than above. My reasoning for this is my hair below my scar is thinner than my hair above the scar. My hair above the scar is as thick as ever but my hair below the scar has thinned some from the HT's. Just sounds more sensible to believe that they stretch it more from below than above. But like I said, just my two cents.
  23. Thanks guys, will probably start in March or April. Bill, I know you did them before your last HT, did it help with tightness afterwards? Glad ya did them?
  24. Hey everyone, was curious as to when one can start scalp exercises after a HT for a future scar reduction/possible HT? I am 6 months out from my last HT and the left side of my donar scar is pretty wide while the right side is perfect. I know during my last HT my skin was extremely tight on the left side and I made the error of not doing any scalp exercises before. My doc said that most likely the scar will be wider over there because of the tightness and he was right. Am thinking of sometime in the future going back in and getting the scar reduced and possibly getting some hair to dust my crown just so it's not baby butt smooth anymore. Also, for you that did the scalp exercises did they help a lot, as far as your donor scar and as far as the amount of grafts able to be taken? I just want to make sure that by doing the exercises I don't stretch the scar out anymore. Thanks!
