  1. Thanks. And just for my knowledge. As someone who keeps his face clean shaven, what is the risk of scarring/marking considering 100's of grafts are being removed from your face?
  2. Thanks. Any particular reason why? Is it risky to remove grafts from your face (chance of leaving scars/marks)?
  3. Once someone runs out of donor hair on the head, what is the most common area for body hair used (to transplant from the body to the scalp)? This is a "plan ahead" type thing. I've already got 2 HT's done and plan on getting my 3rd soon. Once all donor hair is exhausted, if I wanted to fill my crown I know body hair is a common option. Would chest hair (fine and straight) or stomach hair (more coarse) be better? Legs aren't an option for me as how I naturally do not have much leg hair at all.
  4. I was looking into that but from reading the label it seemed like it was strictly a Dandruff shampoo (and I luckily do not have dandruff). Think it's still safe to use? So that's a NO on Biotin even though it clearly advertises itself as a DHT blocker/Hair loss shampoo? Good thing I asked here.
  5. I'm sure Biotin is very popular and this has been covered before. Sorry in advance. For years I've been using Vive Pro thickening Shampoo. It's been discontinued and it's time for a change. I'm in my late 30's. Have had 2 HT's in the past. And currently taking Proscar/Rogaine daily. I was on Amazon and noticed 2 types of Biotin shampoo. Caffeinated Shampoo/DHT Blocker. But at $28 for 8oz, that is very pricey. Does anyone recommend? An alternative would be Dove Thich & Strong caffeinated shampoo for $5. lol.
  6. Well I'm clearly doing something wrong cause I don't see any product w AA...
  7. Thanks but does that have both ingredients? I am trying to find the Miox/Azelaic blend. It was from a very popular online store that sold a bunch of hair loss products... Warehouse or something.
  8. Can someone remind me/recommend a good site to get the Azelaic acid/Minox 5% spray? I used to order it a couple years ago from a site recommended on this forum. Haven't since and cannot remember where I bought it from. Thanks
  9. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/lebron-james--much-talked-about-hairline-seems-to-be-fluctuating-a-bit-these-days-220119836.html Well his most recent pics show his hairline is receded again. Looks to me like a typical transplant- Grafts put it, looks thick for a few weeks, then they fall out. Now, like all of us, he looks exactly like he did before. Give it another 6 months or so and I'll bet those new hairs start growing back in.
  10. Yours are smaller than mine? Sorry bro, sounds like a personal problem
  11. This is random but does Rogaine Foam now come in silver bottles? I just ordered some off Amazon and got my shipment today. For the past several years its always come in a blue bottle with a clear top. Want to make sure I didn't get a knock off. Thanks.
  12. Thanks for the feedback gentlemen. I definitely notice a difference, but am still hoping to squeeze out a lil more growth/density before the 1 year mark. Was also very surprised and disappointed when I heard abt Dr Reed retiring. Met with him recently for a follow up. Him and his staff are all so great. Im sure he'll be missed a lot in this industry...
  13. 6 months exactly. Felt like forever to get to this point. For anyone wondering, the hardest part of the entire HT process isn't Day 1 or Week 1, its during Months 2-5, when grafts shed and you have to just sit and wait in desperate anticipation... Here are some updated pics. They were all taken in the same bathroom. Same mirror. Lighting might be a little different in some of em.
  14. So exactly 5 months ago I had my 2nd HT. Approx 2900 grafts w Dr. Reed in San Diego. I had restored the hairline, temple points and the front third/vertex. The only growth I've seen thus far has been the small temple point areas. Right above my sideburns and into the 'corners'. That is all. Absolutely nothing how even hinted at sprouting anywhere else. I know everyone says to be patient, but shouldn't I at least start to see the beginning of something at this point? Hard to believe that its all going to just happen over the next month or two. Any advice or help appreciated.
  15. I waited a week, until the sutures were removed. Then I bought a baseball cap one size larger (normally wear 7-3/4. Bought 7-1/2). Wore it almost daily, or whenever I was around people. Never had problems and was never uncomfortable.
  16. Just out of curiosity, how would doing a cycle of say testosterone affect the outcome of a new hair transplant? Assuming, of course, waiting 3-4 months post op when it is considered 'safe' to start lifting heavy again. My main concern is less about native hair and more about the growth of new grafts. Just trying to get some information. Thanks.
  17. So I washed my hair normally tonight for the first time. A LOT of scabs and grafts came off. I'll continue to shampoo regularly from here on out. Lets hope that leaving the scabs on this long won't negatively affect my hair/grafts/scalp.
  18. I've been shampooing it. More aggressive on the sides/back, but very gentle on the top/recipient area. Can there be any negative to having left the scabs on my head this long? Should I start to slowly rub them off?
  19. I am 5 and a half weeks post op. Still have a good amount of grafts/scabs in the recipient area. Could all that scabbing actually hinder growth? Should I gently remove them or is there a chance the remaining grafts will catch on and start to grow?
  20. Do you mean in the recipient or donor area? Many of the grafts have yet to shed. Shock loss has also been at a minimum so far. But at 5 weeks out, I know this can still change.
  21. It's tough bro. Especially when you are used to getting in there 5x week and its your main source of stress relief. If its any help, I made it through every body part once this past week. I've noticed more pain/discomfort on pulling exercises- back and bi's. Chest, tri's and legs seem to be good to go, for the most part. Thanks for the read Bill! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing any major damage. I do get a little tenderness on certain lifts, but nothing drastic. I waited exactly 21 days before lifting anything. Then of course, like always, I push it a little too far after that. Really hope I didn't stretch the scar too badly. I'll check with my Dr. in the next month or so. Thanks again for the help!
  22. I just had about 3k grafts, ALL placed among native/existing hairs. From my understanding, a lot of it has to do with the skill of the Dr and his ability to not transect/kill existing hairs when making his incisions. Also, like eyebrows said, if the hair is miniaturizing, it may die regardless. Hope this helps. I'm 4 weeks post op and will be finding out how much shockloss I get very soon! =/
