Senior Member SV_08 Posted July 20, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted July 20, 2006 can anyone give advice on soreness in the area around the scar? Today makes 6 weeks, and i still feel sore back there, especially to the touch (like when i wash my hair). most of it is coming from the end area where i guess the knot was made. other than that the grafted area feels great, n looks great... Ive been fortunate enough to have never had surgery before so im not really familiar with this... HT2 - March, 2013. 2933 grafts. HT1 - June, 2006. 800 grafts. Senior Member tkerr22 Posted July 20, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted July 20, 2006 as far as my own experiences this is normal, I am 4 weeks out and still feel a little sore back there, and had the same feelings after past HT's as well. Totally normal and can last up to a few months. Hang in there and just make sure to keep it clean and free of infection and you will be fine My Hair Loss Weblog
Senior Member M&M Posted July 20, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted July 20, 2006 I agree - hang in there. Take a look at it to ensure you have no dramatic red spots or discharge indicating an infection. If so, get some antibiotics right away. Good luck. ___________________________ 1662 with Dr. Ron Shapiro - Spring 2006 1105 with Dr. Ron Shapiro - Fall 2009 M&M Weblog

What about a pimple sized one?
Senior Member M&M Posted July 21, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted July 21, 2006 I wish I could be more specific. I felt a bit of pain, and then applied some pressure with hot water on a towel at which time I noticed some slight discharge, indicating an infection. I took some antibiotics and applied some cream and within a week, all was back to normal. ___________________________ 1662 with Dr. Ron Shapiro - Spring 2006 1105 with Dr. Ron Shapiro - Fall 2009 M&M Weblog
HAIRBALD
I understand this to be normal by my doctor and could go on for months. Neosporin can help with this.
Regular Member worried Posted July 21, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted July 21, 2006 I wondered about this myself and had some sore spots especially where the knots were. It took 3 months before I felt all healed and I kept hot water on the scar and kept it cleaned and the sore spots drained. I thought this was a real long time. Senior Member MrJobi Posted July 21, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted July 21, 2006 Hi all Keep in mind we just had our head sliced open and a piece of skin removed.. It takes atleast ( for me) 3 months before it feels normal and then another 3 months for the hair to grow back.. It is a long wait but at 6 months I felt 95% normal Good luck JOBI 1417 FUT - Dr. True 1476 FUT - Dr. True 2124 FUT - Dr. True 604 FUE - Dr. True My views are based on my personal experiences, research and objective observations.
