krispykreme
Hello all, I'm new to this forum but had to post my experience with Dr. Jeffrey Epstein of Miami, Florida. I had a reparative hairline procedure given that two previous HT's from a few years back turned out horribly. As you'd expect, I was hesitant to go for the third round but when I looked up Dr. Epstein's credentials, read countless patient testimonials, and saw pictures of his work, I knew he was the one for me and before I knew it I was in Miami. From our first email correspondence, I knew Dr. Epstein was personally vested in my HT experience and wanted the best for me. He was honest in his assessment and repeatedly assured me he wanted to help in any and all ways. His office administrator Roxy was also fantastic and often went out of her way to get back to me. For those of you who have met her, I'm sure you'd agree! Initially Dr. Epstein recommended 450 grafts to repair my hairline but during the procedure he ended up doing close to 700. You can bet that he wanted the result to speak for itself and hence was flexible and incredibly generous to go the extra mile without the extra charge. For a young woman just starting out in her professional career, I appreciated this immensely. I was very moved when he told me what he did and even now I still get emotional when I replay that moment in my mind. It's been only five days since the procedure but as I look in the mirror now, I see confidence -- I didn't have that before. Sure it will take a few months for the hairs to grow, but already I can tell that choosing Dr. Epstein was one of the best decisions I ever made. Bless him for being who he is and truly caring for his patients. For other young women suffering from thinning hair, cowlicks, or other unusual growth patterns, rest assured there is a solution: Dr. Epstein for sure. Bill - Seemiller
Krispykreme, Thank you for sharing your experience and welcome to the community. Dr. Epstein is surely a "class act" and I'm glad he took good care of you. I do hope you'll take some time and post some pictures of your pre-op and immediately post op condition. We then hope you'll continually update us with progress pictures. I am glad that your experience went well. Of course, the real results will come in between 6 months to a year (as Gorpy stated), but will probably start to grow between 3-5 months. Keep in mind, that you may go through awkward periods, including experiencing temporary shockloss. This can happen between 2 weeks to even a couple months after surgery. Rest assured though, it will all come back including the new hair. Please keep us posted. Bill
Senior Member Neptune Posted April 15, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted April 15, 2007 Krispykreme: Epstein patient here, and I am delighted to hear you had a good experience. If you are five days out, you should only have a few more before it will be difficult for anyone to know you had any work done. Like Bill said, we'd love to see pics if you can post any. Thanks for sharing and happy healing!

Senior Member djdennis Posted March 5, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted March 5, 2008 Dr. E is a great guy and great surgeon!!! No doubt he is a generous man who takes ultimitly all his pride in all his work with I think the best client/doc relationship in the ht business. I think you guys out there looking for hts, should consult with him. He is a young guy who knows his business!!! As I told him myself!!! Dr E you are the cinderella doc who has not come into full bloom as some of the other docs like hasson & Wong and feller!!! Keep a close eye for him in the future boys and gals!! I think we are going to have a new front runner for the future. My Hair Loss WebLog

Bill - Seemiller
Krispy, Thank you for coming back to post your photos. Your before pictures are very blurry, but looking at your original experience, you only received 700 grafts. Overall, you've had some good growth however, it does still appear thin in at least one section of the hairline. Without knowing all the specifics of your case as Dr. Epstein would, nobody can really know however, I do wonder why you and he only chose to do 700 grafts rather than 1500 or so which would have added more hair density. Hopefully Dr. Epstein can enlighten us on this post. How do you feel about your result? Do you have plans of going back for more density? Best wishes, Bill
krispykreme
Thanks all for your response, it is much appreciated. I too have noticed and become concerned that there are still a few areas that are quite thin. When I updated Dr. Epstein on my progress, he said that it takes at least a year for noticeable growth to occur. I'm at the 11 month mark and am trying to be positive. Originally the graft count was going to be 450 I think, but it ended up at nearly 700. I wish I could answer your question regarding the final number but really don't know why/how it ended up this way. All I remember is how grateful I was that he put in more than the previously-specified amount. I should add that I had two previous TPs, the first of which was 875 grafts, and the second ("corrective") was 750. As you could tell, both of those TPs didn't turn out favorably which is why when I decided to go back for the third and hopefully last time, I wanted to go for the best and hence, chose Dr. Epstein. In the meantime, I will continue w/ the Rogaine & Hairmax but really, really hope the growth picks up and 'evens out'. Thanks all!
Guest wanthairs
i may aswell throw in my stuff here.... Epstein totally changed my life completely and with only 2800 grafts made me look 180 degrees different. I need to put my before and afters, and i definately am in the top league of people with the most dramatic change that I have ever seen. I am going to go back to him for a second pass in a few months once i reach about the 14 month mark. By the way, hardly anything happened for the first 6 months, so be patient all of you....
