Hi all,

As planned, I had my HT done with Dr. Shapiro on 1/15/2007. It was a wonderful experience and I must say Janna, Dr. Shapiro and Matt did a great job at answering all my questions and accomodating my desires in regards to graft count. Following are further details on graft count/hairs. Also, I am attaching 2 links below with my pics so please feel free to comment. For some reason I couldn't get to upload the pictures on this site.

One thing to note. I had several native hairs which were shaved down before surgery in order have an open field to plant the new grafts.

Strip: 7.5 cm long x 1.5 cm wide

& 15.5 cm long x 1.75 cm wide

Total graft/hair count: 3225gr/7222 hairs

1's ??“ 639 = 639 hairs

2's ??“ 1458 = 2916 hairs

3's ??“ 845 = 2535 hairs

4's ??“ 283 = 1132 hairs

You had inner sutures (dissolvable sutures) along with nylon sutures on the outside, which must be removed with in two weeks.

Trichophyic closure was also done.

Pictures are available here:

Congrats man, looks really sweet, and I think it's going to look great as it's blended in with your natives. And damn, that is a lot of hairs!

Btw, if your picture problem was due to some issue w/ size, try editing the picture, and using the "brush" over tool....at least for me, even if I just brush over a rather small, insignificent area of the picture, its size gets lowered dramatically.

Sad,

Your making great progress. Good job at keeping it clean. Heal well and try not to get too impatient. icon_smile.gif

Thanks Janna icon_smile.gif

Followed your advice and I made sure all the scabs were out by the 2 week mark.

Chucky, thanks!

The Scar looks pretty awesome, I mean its hard to find. It feels a little soar still. I dont sleep on my back still since I don't wanna push it... Its healing up and i feel some scabs in there which seem to be taking a little longer. Its very hard to detect it though since I had tricho and the hair seems to be growing around it already.

Sad,

Congrats on a very nice HT. You look better with the short hair LOL.

Work looks outstanding, curious, did you request stitches over staples?? I had dissolvable interior and exterior stitches and they worked great, comfortable and no extra trip to the office for removal.

And are you on finasteride? I think if you save you native hair you will be one happy dude when this grows out!!

BOL!

haha Thanks nobuzz4me,

you are so right, I do look better in short hair. I didn't cut hair since I wanted to see how good my donor look all grown out and plus I was hesitant on how much i need to have in the back in order to cover the strip. Yes, I am on Proscar and Minox trying to hold on to what I have.

I think I did get dissolvable stitched and both sutures and a couple staples which I had to have removed. It wasn't painful though.

Its the healing in the back that is a little painful these days.

Thanks for the wishes and I hope I see results soon icon_smile.gif
