I am almost NW5+ with diffuse thinning and i want to go for mega-session.
This will have to be evaluated by Dr. Hasson & Wong as to whether you are an appropriate candidate for a megasession.
That has to do, with scalp elasticity etc.
Please tell me who is better Dr Hasson or Dr Wong.I believe Jotronic discussed this already, and if I remember correctly, the conclusion was that, both are equally competent.
-
P.S. There are other factors that the medical experts/doctors can add to this, such as scalp elasticity and blood clotting capabilities etc.

the term "not a good candidate for a ht" exactly means regardless of the age?
It means:
1. You are too young, and your MPB has not sufficiently stabilized yet.
2. Your donor supplies are so limitied/depleted that the benefit of transplanting the grafts would be not be valuable.
3. Your density/calibre of donor is low, in which case, see point 2 above.
I mean are there some people who are in their 40's and 50's considered as not good candidates?Any one who falls into the categories above.
does anyone have a picture or show an example from the celebrities we know?Sorry.

Yea, I buy my drugs soley from them.
I've posted that before, and informed others about their website (url address provided), but have always disclaimed not to be an agent of their business.

Not sure what you mean. There is a density gradient that is part of creating the illusion of density, such that the one's are place in the hairline, 2's are place directly behind, and 3's are place further into the scalp in the second third. Sometimes 3's can be place in the central zone of the forelock. It can also depend on the styling pattern that the patient would like to wear once the results of the transplant come into full bloom; this can be discussed with the surgeon prior to surgery.
PS. There also larger units MFUs.

Congratulations!

Perhaps, it's a percularity of that particular region of your scalp, like a lower level of vascularity in the lower tissue strata, for that particular zone.

ALL transplanted hair falls out, (because ALL hair follows the hair-growth cycle, and must shed in order for new hair to take its place)....it's just a matter of when. A few will continue to grow for months after the HT. That does not mean that it will continue growing for ever.
Generally, most will fallout out within 4 weeks of your surgery.
-
Yeah I know. One of my buddies is a chopper pilot.
-
Yes. Finasteride and minoxidil works for all parts of your scalp.
-
I used Graftcyte.
-
Don't worry about it.
Dr. Mejia along with other medical exponents posted articles stating that after 5-6 days post HT, the grafts are sufficiently fused and secured to the receiving tissue.
-
Clinton,
There's nothing wrong with you. Forget about a HT.
Style your hair differently and move on with your life.

should i half the pill and miss a day
You're splitting into quarters to take it every day, to be consistent with the 1mg/day dosage...remember.
did you say its ok to split all the pills and put it in a jarYeah.
-
i was wondering to save time should i split all the proscar or just the peace i need
This is debatable. I split all my proscar within a blister strip. Thus 10 pills become 40 pills.
Ideally, it may be preferrable to split one pill at a time, and thus preserve the integrity of the medication, until you are ready to use it in the next 4 days.
wear do i keep the peacesMost medication should be kept in a cool dry place, preferably in an opaque plastic/glass bottle,(screw capped with a bit of cotton under the cap) in order to reduce thermal decomposition and photo degradation.

i heard those who start sooner get better results is this true
Short answer, yes.
i was wondering that will it make my front hair strongThe medication will retard the minituarization process. If by "strong", you mean if the medication will make your hair coarser, it is possible that the medication may reverse the caliber of the hair shafts.
-
how do i split proscar 5mg into 1/4 i have no pill cutter
Just use a knife. The pill does not necessarily have to cleave into exact quarters.
lso before i take my first dose i want to know if its better not to take propecia at all i mean would it make my hairloss worse im 19 with full hair just receading hairline thinning do you think its good idea to start useing. If you are indeed suffering from MPB, you should begin minoxidil and finasteride. You may experience some initial shedding once you commence the medication, but that in no way means that your MPB is being accelerated by the use of the medication.

why would my donor reserve thin out? Ive been on proscar for over ten years and my donor looks just as thick.
On average the rate of differentiation diminishes for all tissue with age. This is a separate issue from the consumption of finasteride.
-
Anouar,
I agree with Bill. However, you need to be aware (for the average person) that the older you get, the thinner your donor reserves become. And there is a possibility that your transplanted grafts, may not grow as fast as when you were younger, though this is not an "x" factor.

Yes needles are used. However, blades are also used in dense packing. And it was my understanding that the blades are able to produce more densely packed slits and thus allow for more densely packed graft implants. (Unless of course, this needle is newer technology that is smaller than the blades)
Jotronic has posted a wonderful video of this showing the comparison between needles and blades. The entire exercise was done on a melon.

Minimal discomfort. Pain level 1.
However, lingering discomfort is extensive. Maybe 6-8 months.
Additionally, one may experience neuropathic pain (phantom pain) which can be lancing, for months after surgery, until curing of nerve tissue has reached a substantial level.
-
I agree with Dr. Charles.
-
Abby,
In addition to the very good info from Bill and Dr. Charles, it is also possible NOT to totally implant the crown area with grafts, but the implant the anterior portion of the crown and style the hair backwards to cover the thinner areas. Thus valuable grafts can be conserved.

Is it important to get on Propecia or any other medicine 3-4 months BEFORE surgey?
Finasteride and minoxidil. But stay off minoxidil and other doctor contra-indications customary 5 days prior to surgery.
Do you think one should get on to Propecia before surgery?Yes. And for the rest of your life.
If yes, are medicines (like propecia)same for everyone?Short answer, yes. Longer answer more complicated, and for the average person, the short answer is sufficient.
Would you recommend to consult a doctor before getting onto Propecia?Yes. But I did not, because I knew I was suffering from MPB.
Or is it just like another 'Disprine for headache', too common and does not really require doctor consultation.NO!!! Finasteride is definitely not a cough and cold medication. And even a cough and cold medication can be dangerous in combination with other drugs.
After HT, did people notice it easily?

Perhaps, I was a bit insensitive.
No. It won't be that detectable if you're just doing the hairlines.
Start combing your hair forward now, so that people won't notice a sudden change in hair style.
I comb my hair forward.
