  1. Thanks for all the comments and reassurance , I do appreciate this forum!
  2. Thanks for the feed back , the last couple months went by rather fast because I was preocupied by other things.
  3. Can't wait to see the results. looks like it will make a major change for the better. I enjoy watching others progress with different ht docs.
  4. Would that dermapatch stuff stick to my crown fuzz and like fill it in like a pothole?
  5. Decided to post again after trying to be patient. From what I see at least my shock loss hair seems to have come back. The hairline has hair growing but to me its thin and kind of funny looking. I had 2200 graphs starting in the front and going toward the back. I started propecia day after surgery and minoxcidil a month after surgery. There is fine hair growing on the crown but I dont know if its the drugs or the graphs. I know the graphs on the crown are spaced thin on the crown area. I know I will probably want a crown job after this since that was my major objective. Also I hope the front grows allot more and fills in. Any comments good bad , indifferent? I guess I should put these pics in my blog for comparison. Not sure how to do side by side comparison pics like some others here. http://www.hairlossweblogs.com/home-page.asp?WebID=59
  6. Looks good hairbank, I've been watching your progress. I was more concerned or obsessed with my crown then I was with my hairline in the front since this was the reason for me wearing a hat. I read another post saying the crown was like a black hole to fill in sucking up numerous graphs. That is what I am considering next if I'm happy with ht in general. Yours is definetley looking good now and will only get better. I have not yet updated my progress one because its hard to take pictures of your self @. It's harder to ask someone else too. 3. not sure if it looks ok. Anyway thanks for the update.
  7. I wondered about this myself and had some sore spots especially where the knots were. It took 3 months before I felt all healed and I kept hot water on the scar and kept it cleaned and the sore spots drained. I thought this was a real long time.
  8. I noticed the differance but sex is still fun and less of a mess to clean up on those solo flights. The glass is half full not half empty.
  9. My reciepiant area in the front (hairline) was pink about 2 months and scalp was still somewhat numb up till now which is 12 weeks this friday 6-16-06. And hair started sprouting at 9 weeks so I guess everyone is differant. But when I saw this info it helped me to stop looking everyday and relax abit more and be patient. I got so worried right after procedure shockloss etc. that I was freakin out, hair is growing back new hairs sprouting daily I guess it keeps getting better with time. I'm headed for Aruba then Dominica for a 2 weeks of diving and realxation and I'm sure I will get some more pink color on my head but will be sure to keep a hat on and sunscreen. O and I will be thinking of all of you!
  10. What to expect after surgery While many hair transplant commercials tell you that you can return to work the next day, that's just not realistic. Hair Transplant surgery is not a minor surgical procedure and patients should be aware of recovery times and know what to expect. TIME AFTER SURGERY TRANSPLANTED AREA DONOR SUTURED AREA Next Day Hair is washed thoroughly. Grafts should be clean of blood. Some soreness, tightness and numbness. 2-3 Days Scabbing is largely gone. Moderate redness may be present. Some swelling may appear on forehead. Soreness begins to disappear. Some numbness may continue. 1 Week Redness is minimal to absent. Swelling is usually gone. 1st Post-op Visit. Soreness is generally gone. Occasionally some numbness persists. 2 Weeks Looks and feels like a 4-day-old beard. Sutures begin to absorb. Discomfort is gone. Numbness is uncommon. 2-8 Weeks Transplanted hair is shed as the follicles enter a dormant phase. Knots at the ends of the absorbable sutures fall off. 2-4 Months Some original hair may be shed in the transplanted area. Any residual numbness in the donor area is generally gone. 3-6 Months Transplanted hair begins to grow first as very fine hair. 5-10 Months Some or all of the original hair that was shed begins to grow. 8 Months Hair is groomable, but transplant appears thin as hair continues to grow and thicken. Slight textural change in hair is occasionally present. 8-12 Months Patient is evaluated for a possible second procedure. 1 Year 90% of the final appearance of procedure is usually present. 1-2 Years There may be additional fullness during the second year. Any textural change in hair usually returns to normal. Came across this information after HT somewhere and it reminds me that patience and time are 2 things to keep in mind.
  11. I thought about a HT back when I was in my late 20's maybe 30. I am so gratefull I didn't pursue it until now when I'm 45. I wouldn't have wanted to chase my hair loss with multiple HT's and the cost involved. I paid off the house and put money in retirement accounts first. Now I can afford to give it a shot , and have some hair and not have to work till I'm 90. plus I think my hairloss is stabilized but who can ever be sure. When they say donor area is not the best I would be concerned you have a long life ahead of you. Just my thoughts on the matter . Hang around here for awhile ,you'll get allot of valuable information to make your choice. good luck on whatevere you do. Scott
  12. I'm at 9 weeks and the front is still pink along the hairline but fading. The mid scalp and back the redness went away in about 3 weeks.I just let my hair grow to cover it. Scott
  13. Hi Island girl. I thought you went to nuhart for your transplant, back when we were talking cost. Anyway which mhr office did you go to? i'm just starting on week nine and more hair is growing on one side than the other but others have said this was normal and it would even out. Hopefully your spot will fill in , in time .I'm to much of a newbe to know much. Scott
  14. Thanks for the info. I'm kind of patiently waiting to see what results I get from my ht. If they are good I won't need to travel but after finding this site I really got worried after reading about mhr. I talked to my Doc. about it and feel they were very professional through the whole procedure, and I will wait for the results and come to my own conclusuion. But one thing I'm sure of is I will need another procedure to get the results I'm looking for. This site has given me allot of useful information and there are allot of caring people here sharing info. Thanks Scott
  15. I'm only at 9weeks and there are hairs growing on the right side but only 1 or 2 on the left side. I too was getting WORRIED, thanks for asking the question.
  16. If you were to travel to have a ht done, would you have to stay there 10 days so that they could remove stiches? Also would you have to fly back for follow ups? Or do they use desolving sutures for out of state patients?

  18. Mrjb do you have any pics? I was looking thru your posts and couldn't find any.
  19. Wow thanks for the link thats pretty impressive. Great pics and HT. I'm getting all the info I should have gotten 2 months ago. Better late than never. I'm sure I'll be needing to change from worried to aok soon.
  20. MHR Dr. Scott Boden 6 weeks 3 days ago and counting. And thanks thats kind of what I was thinking about wet hair.
  21. After Ht or 2 are done does the doc no longer write propecia scripts are we on are own until another transplant is needed down the road? I see people are ordering from online pharmacies here like united and so fourth. How can anyone be assured that these actually contain the right medication, dosage etc. since there is no over site by FDA? It would suck taking the meds and find out a year or 2 down the road they where sugar pills or something. I guess I'm just suspicious after all the scandals that go on daily in the news. Scott

  23. I punched in wet hair in the search tool because I was wondering when hair is wet if it looks very thin after HT. Like if you jump in the pool is it o my god I didn't know your hair was that thin or you look bald. What i'm asking I guess is does the hair only look good dry? Will I still never go in my own pool or at least never go under the water? Also I am just starting on my 7th week since ht and there are a few hairs starting to grow on the new hairline, is this possible all ready or are these maybe shockloss hairs starting to grow back? The original hairs already fell out of the transplants . Scott
