  1. Probably a dumb question; can residual gel getting on your grafts from styling your hair affect the growth/yield of a HT. I'm talking after the two week mark. Other than maybe irritation, I was wondering if I could do any damage. To get my hair to style "right", I put gel along my hairline area; residual gel I'm sure gets on the grafted area. I just want some piece of mind. My guess is that it won't hurt anything. I'm 3.5 months post-op and I'm seeing growth, but just want to make sure. Thanks

  3. Maybe I'm just blind, but I don't see really any cosmetic differance. I can tell something is differant, but I'm not sure what it is. Can someone point it out to me?
  4. Thanks for the reply's everybody. I guess I don't feel all alone in this.
  5. I'm sure it's been discussed before, do you think Merck Proscar from Inhousedrugstore.com or United Pharmacies is legit? They seem to be reputable companies. Just wondering if anybody else had any experience/knowledge of this.
  6. I was at my Grandma's for a family get together on Sunday. Her neighbor stopped over on his golf cart (too lazy to walk 50 yards). The guy is about 55, Norwood 1; major white trash, 150 lbs overweight and uses a machine to help him talk because he had cancer due to smoking/chewing/drinking all of his life. He says "Oh, you are losing your hair." I kind of just went along with it. Man I wanted to rip on his physical flaws, but I bit my tongue cause my family was there. I mean, that's like the pot calling the kettle black. I wanted to tell him to lose some weight and learn how to talk without a machine but I didn't want to create a scene. Doesn't that just piss you off when people are like that? I guess I want to vent a little. If I see him some other time and nobody is around, I'm going to give him a piece of my mind-lol

  8. Jagdish, can you post some pics.? Thanks
  9. The grafts look to be very far apart. Also, are those mini/micro grafts?--they look like it. Also the graft placement look too symetrical;they are like perfect rows (stadium seating). I'm not trying to be harsh. Was your Dr. employed by one of the hair mills? He doesn't seem very ethical, IMO. Just being realistic, but you are not going to see much, if any, cosmetic effect from this first surgery. Sorry if I sounded too harsh, but we are here to help each other out, and we need to pass the word about doctors who are unethical.
  10. Hey Michaellovesnyc, I was wondering if you had any pre and post op pictures you could post. You said you weren't "bald by a long shot." What Norwood were you. Just curious so I can see what 2750 grafts would look like.
  11. Is it possible to lose a graft 13 days post-op? I was gently combing my hair, and I hit a scab. There was a little bit of blood, not streaming down my head, just a little from where the scab was and I dabbed it with a piece of tissue. Do you think I lost a graph? I thought they were embedded by then. I'm thinking it was just from the scab because it was very little blood.
  12. I'm also considering trying Avodart. I have been on Propecia for 5 years and I feel it's losing its efficacy. It has slowed down my hair loss, but I feel I'm losing some ground now. The main reason I haven't tried Avodart is the cost. I e-mailed Inhousedrugstore.com regarding Dutas, a generic version of Avodart, manufactured by Dr. Reddys in India. Inhousedrugstore has a good reputation as an online source of meds. I've ordered Proscar and other general meds from them. Below was there reply regarding Dutas: Hello David, We sell alot of the Dutas compared with Avodart. Most likely due to price. The product is genuine and we have many repeat customers for it so I imagine they are finding it effective. I have not had any actual reviews on it though. Dr Reddys would be a trusted manufacturer. They are FDA approved and also listed on the NYSE I would take it with confidence Sincerely Kerry I haven't made the switch yet, because I want to know for certain that it is legit. The cost of Dutas at inhouse is about 30$/month if you buy 6 months worth; compared to Avodart, which is around 100$/month at inhouse. Does anybody else have any opinions/experience with Dutas?
  13. Who cares what people say or think. You are going to feel much better about yourself after the HT Journey, that you won't care. You can just tell them you took Propecia (explain to them that it is an FDA approved drug for hairloss); most people that don't understand MPB won't have a clue that Propecia wouldn't grow hair like that especially at the hairline region. Only admit the HT to people you feel comfortable about telling. And remember, people like to gossip, so if you don't want certain people at your job, for example, to know about it, I wouldn't tell anybody you work with--keep that in mind.
  14. I can't imagine Dermatch affecting the yeild/growth, especially at the 4 month mark. At that point,"stuff", (ie. healing/growth) is happening under the skin. IMO after 2 weeks or so and the scabs are gone, I would think it would be safe. Maybe worse case, cause irritation, but not affect the yeild/growth. I'm no expert, though.
  15. Just wondering how Jagdish's HT is coming. Is hair starting to sprout yet? Just wondering if I could see how it's coming along.

  17. You guys do have some valid points. Your hair loss has stabilized for the most part at mid-30's, especially if you are on Propecia.
  18. IMO, I don't think you really even needed a HT. It looks like to me that you have a mature hairline. Most people don't even have that density and hairline after a HT. I think you should of just stayed on Propecia and waited until you lost more hair/reeceded more.
  19. IMO, your doc should have gave you a prescription for propecia and sent you on your way and told you to come back in 5-6 years if your hairloss has stabalized. I think that was unethical to operate on you--at only 24 at a Norwood 2.5 ish. I agree with L;Anonyme, you must get on Propecia now, or you are going to loose the hair behind the transplants and you will be forced to get more transplants-IMO
