  1. You must remember that any session depends on your donor area. If you hair is sparce (thinly laid out) or you have limited hair due to the amount of hair left, a mega session may not be possible. A mega session should be anything over 5000 hairs IMHO
  2. The clinic I used twice (in Athens) only quotes in hairs. I find this whole subject confusing and I wish there was a standard way of quoting patients (come on HRHRS!) I had 9000 hairs in total and have estimated that's around 4000-4500 grafts although I can not be 100% sure. The general estimate people seem to work on is that 1 graft is equal to between 1.3 and 2 hairs.
  3. If you are taking Propecia or Dutasteride, it is vitally important that you let your surgeon know. Certain medications work less effectively when you are on this drug and there could be some contra-indications. My surgeon requests that you stop taking all medicines for at least 1 week prior to surgery and at least 2 weeks post surgery until the healing process has finished. This might be overkill and playing it VERY safe but it's worth taking into consideration.
  4. After 2 sessions, my head is covered with hair and I am very satisfied however, I wish it could be thicker on top. In comparison to be being bald it is 10000% better however it is not as thick as it was when i was in my early 20's. Has anyone had a hair transplant (or 2 or 3 ..) and the final result has been good coverage and thick hair that completely covers the scalp? PS I've posted this on my own forum and others as well as it's a question I've never had answered.

  6. I would say at least 50% of the guys who get in contact with me have had some dealings with AHS. None (and I mean NONE) of them realised they were going to get a wig before going to their clinic. Laser treatment can be very effective for stopping hair loss and producing hair "fulff" BUT it will not give you a full head of hair back.
  7. Has anyone had any experience with this surgeon in Greece. He did my own transplants and although he is no longer part of the NHI, still seems to be going strong.
  8. I started losing my hair when I was late teens and by 23, I had high temples and was noticably thinning. By 28 I was developing the horseshoe look when the hair on top was disappearing fast. By 32 it was almost all gone.
  9. After both of my transplants, they surgeon closed the donor area immediately. They had to do this before turning me over to insert the grafts.
  10. For me it was around 3 months. The hairs that fall out should grow a little time before the transplanted hairs start to grow.
  11. A lot can also depend on the colour of your hair. A no #2 is OK if you a fair haired but because of the contrast with a light scalp, dark haired guys shouldn;t go below a no#3 or even a no#4. I have had loads of different styles - see my site at headofhair
  12. I think the general rule of thumb is...Don;t just be bought by the occassional before and after shot on a clinic's website. I think it is important to get photos from previous patients over a period of time. I certainly know some of my photos on http://www.headofhair.co.uk make my hair look amazing post procedure and some look OK. My advice...ask to speak to ex-patients and see lots of photos before making a decision. I did and am 100% happy with the results. Cheers Andy
