  1. HHi Bill! I am not worried about damage to the HT, just getting a decent haircut that balances the thin top and really thick sides. Ringo
  2. I am looking for a real professional hair cutter here in NYC who has experience with guys with HTs. I spent most of the last decade buzzing my hair off, and now I have about half the density I need on top since my HT almost 2 years ago. I find I do not trust anyone to touch my head lest they screw it up, since it takes a while to grow back enough for the next barber to screw up. I now have a bit of a mop which looks good when compacted into a helmet with hair goop and my scalp is sprayed with Toppik. I am seeing Dr Feller this week for a consultation to finish the work (for now), but I am looking for recommendations for a hair person someone here trusts. I have spent too much on my head to rely on 'hit-or-miss', and frankly I am getting tired of spending so much time prepping my head for the day. Thanks in advance for your help guys. This Forum is invaluable to me.

  4. Thanks dhoose75. I think you are about right in your estimation. Now I am trying to figure out how long I can be side-lined from work. Dewayne, Reading your other posts I am getting a feel for your sense of humor. Now I AM nervous! I just won't travel with Yoko. Ringo
  5. No, I am not seeing it. Would you please explain? I changed the name of the post, as my goal is not to be ironic. Ringo
  6. TA, Thanks for the encouragement! Dr Feller did a heck of a good job for you. I will consult with him in the next couple of weeks. I will be doing some homework on this HT. Best, Ringo
  7. I am now in the market for a 2nd session to fix the hairline and add density to my MHR HT from Feb 07. I have had a good response to the new hair from session one, and feel more confident about my looks. Overall a good experience. Now the thought of buzzing my head for the operation (I am in sales) is starting to freak me out. I visited Dr True and he recommended about 1700 grafts to fill in density and said he can fix my hairline and donor scar without shaving my head. I have not yet scheduled. I am curious about what kind of repair can be done. MHR gave me very mild 'cobblestoning' and I am wondering if that can be fixed. Also, I had no shock loss in follicles adjacent to the surgery area last time. Are my transplanted hairs in jeopardy for shock loss now? I guess I am gonna need some support going forward, so I am glad the forum is here! It has been great to come back and start to read you all again after being away. Ringo
  8. Gents, I recently had a meeting with a surgeon from this coalition for a second procedure, with whose work I am impressed. After the evaluation of my condition, he sort of casually asked whether I had thought about laser therapy when I mentioned my adverse reaction to finasteride. I said no, and that I was not interested because I had never seen any proof that it did anything but grow wings on your money... He dropped the subject, but I was sort of surprised he mentioned it. Ringo
  9. I know I'm late getting on board here, but about a year into taking first Propecia, then Finpecia to save money, I started having breast tenderness and pain, tho no swelling or overt change. I reduced to half the prescribed dose, .5mg. Still the problem. Went to .5mg every other day, same problem. I stopped for a couple weeks, problem goes away. I resume, and after a couple of days, symptoms are back. What fraction of a pill is .02? I am willing to try, because the stuff really STOPPED my hair loss. Also, could it be the generic? If anyone can answer, Thanks! I have considered the possibility of the power of suggestion... Ringo
  10. Hi Tuscansun, They will provide you with the generic 'Finpecia' for 100 tabs for $77. I have seen it for less, but that's what I am currently using. Same drug, but without the US pharmaceutical company mark-ups. It works just fine. I have been on it for about 8 months and my shedding stopped quickly. I did need a prescription to get the drug, and I assume they verified it, as they are a legitimate business. Good Luck!
  11. Listen to the clown! He knows that of which he speaks. You will save nothing by gambling on MHR. Dr Krenitzsky MAY be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but don't find out the hard way that he's not when you have now got friends in the business! Ringo
  12. gb, I are a MHR graduate. DON"T DO IT! Listen to these guys. It is too important a decision to take lightly. Ringo
  13. Jsmith, Did you consider going after them for the quality issue? Get your money back? The Bastards? I am looking forward to meeting with a coalition Doc, But I am NOT looking forward to getting cut up again. Have you had a consultation with a new guy yet? Ringo
  14. Jsmith, What did you do? Did you go back and kick some asses? Any idea why they went low with the #s? Just to get you back in? Thanks, by the way for telling me. Ringo
  15. Hey Max I think it's starting to look OK. I think with a second procedure it'll be great, since a REAL surgeon will be able to give the density needed to make it work. In certain light, it works, and since I am tall, most people are looking front or side on. I am beside myself I am so pissed off about this. Does MHR give refunds? I'll need the money for repairs! Ringo
  16. You remember correctly. Well guys, there you have it. One more example of the fine craftsmanship available at MHR! Do you think an autobody shop might be able to do anything with a fine grit paper? Ringo
  17. Friends, This is going to sound obsessive, but when the light is from overhead and my scalp is shiny, at the base of every FU is a bump, small as a dull pencil point and I am probably the only one who will notice. They were not there until about month 5 and I am almost at 9 months. I know I need to go to about 16 months for my procedure to fully grow in and mature, but is this a common symptom? Any experience with this? Thanks, Ringo

  19. I got my last prescription of finasteride from a Canadian online pharmacy for $125.79 for 100 1 mg tablets. The medicine is called Finpecia and it is made in India by Cipla Pharmaceuticals. It is the same stuff as Propecia. According to Bill from this site in response to my question about Finpecia: Thank you for your inquiry, Yes, generic finasteride is just as effective as Propecia however, I am often skeptical of many online pharmaceutical companies. Just be sure that you are buying from a legitimate source - which will involved research on your part. www.hairlosstalk.com is a reputable source to buy generics however, I know there are other places that offer it cheaper. I cannot guarantee however, the legitimacy of these other places. Yes, generic finasteride is just as effective as Propecia however, I am often skeptical of many online pharmaceutical companies. 20. Daviebeer, Nice photoshop! Keep developing that technology and you'll be richer than paul mccartney. When we can get up in the morning and put the noggin' in the HPHP3000 (Hewlett Packer Head Printer 3000)how happy we will be! Meanwhile, I did a procedure with too few grafts (1700) at MHR at $3.90 per. While I feel I got lucky and got a pretty good surgeon, for MHR, as my donor scar is practically invisible and there are now hairs enjoying the sunlight out on the front porch for a change, I would have been willing to pay more if necessary to get the job I wanted in one go. I took out a small loan to pay for my surgery with a manageable monthly payment and no interest if paid off in one year. I have 4 months to finish paying, and I get offers from credit card companies every day for no interest balance transfers if I need to take a little longer than that. Take the money you'd spend on the flight, hotel, longterm parking, Spanish for beginners, strippers, etc, and roll it into your surgery. dhoose75's recommendation of propecia is a good idea since your current hairline is 'distinguished' rather than AWOL. Try it for a year while you shop around. ng2nb is right. Avoid the tacos! Regards, Ringo
  21. ng2gb, You crack me up. Ringo
  22. Gents, I have been on Propecia or it's generic equivalent Finpecia for about 10 months. My hair does not shed anymore, and I have had no sexual side effects. A lot of your experience is in how you think about it. The human mind can psyche itself into or out of almost anything!

  24. Hey Bill! I'll try again tomorrow. If I can't do it, I'll copy the message and send it to you. Thanks, Ringo
