  1. I am 26 and have been considering a hair transplant to strengthen my existing hairline.

I found out from a surgeon that young men have a higher chance of experiencing their donor scar to stretch.

Would you all mind sharing how your donor laxity was at the time of the surgery and how your scars turned out?

I feel that my scalp is almost too laxitive and I'd be more prone to have a stretched out donor scar. I'm not sure if I should continue with the scalp exercises either? I'm looking to have surgery early spring.

Thank you for your time in answering my question!

Also if any surgeons want to post their views I'd appreciate it!

  3. I've already seen 3 different surgeons for consultations. I've seen Dr. Epstein (Miami), Dr. Ron Shapiro (Minneapolis) and Dr. Charles (Boca Raton, FL). Dr. Shapiro was nice enough to see me in Miami on his vacation.

I have also added Dr. Rahal to my list due to his excellent results and by far more reasonable U.S. prices. Over $2,000 cheaper!

The surgeons all told me I could keep my hair long for the strip surgery. Did Dr. Rahal let you guys keep you existing hair without cutting it short? If I would have to cut it than he would be out of the picture.

    Thanks!

Yep, that's it. It will save you a small fortune. And don't forget to store your pills in a cool, dry place (NOT in the bathroom, because of the humidity!).

My finasteride has been in my warm closet for over a year. Is it still ok to use? I don't think there is anywhere cool in my place. I'm in South Florida. Maybe the fridge...

  6. Thanks for the comment! I wouldn't worry too much about shock loss in the donor area for myself. I was told by each surgeon I met that I could keep my existing hair length, where my hair is rather long (bangs reach my nose). I would have my native hair cover the transplanted hair. The donor site and recipient site should be hidden immediately.

I just hope that with my existing hair being long, that it wouldn't damage the grafts in the recipient area because it would be touching the new hairs? I heard you have to be careful with the transplanted hairs the first 2 weeks on here.
