  1. GQnDn, Sounds good. I understand "Revita" shampoo doesn't leave your hair dried out like Nizoral does, and when I read about it on-line I was happy with the ingredients in contains!! I'm waiting for my order to arrive soon. One tip I read about Finesteride/Propecia/Proscar is for it to work well you've got to be on it for a good long time. One doctor even said" two years".
  2. djdennis, The doctor was probably referring to the laxity of your donor area when he said, pretty tight. I checked out your blog picture and immediately said why only 2300 grafts?? Do you have a long-term plan worked out with the doctor for another HT after this one? You've no doubt got to be excited at this point. Are you aware that there are excersises that you can do to loosen your donor area so as to get a better harvest from the strip the doctor removes?
  3. Mrjb, In regards to Nizoral, I haven't used it because IMO I don't think topicals make a big difference in preventing hair loss. I will look into/read about Nizoral more. Would you or anyone else talk a little more about it? Thanks.
  4. Giant, That's my philosophy too, Where there's a will.... Was the one and only thing that has worked for me.
  5. Charlestr, I think you couldn't get on Propecia fast enough. I've read a couple places, and the clinic I used for my HT wanted me on it months before I even went in for the procedure. I took it up and through the HT and won't stop.
  6. justgrow, I don't know exactly when shockloss hair starts to return and someone here, I'm sure will give you that info, but in the meantime it's got to be encouraging that your feeling stuble, and think about this way if you want: Your getting hair in the near future whether you want it or not!
  7. KamCal, In one of my posts, I said: "Yes, definitely" in response to your asking a question, but I didn't read your entire post. That was just in response to you asking if "it would be okay to rub the donor area gently".
  8. Mp96, I saw a growth chart for hair transplantation and read: Visible growth starts at 15 weeks, so you've got a bit more to go.
  9. KamCal, I know you will be using a pitcher of water and shampoo to pour over your grafts and not put your head directly in the shower stream, right?
  10. Michaellovesnyc, I can't give you an exact time frame, M, but It's a no-brainer to say I'm going to wait until my donor area is completely healed and proceed slowly after I've grown out my hair on top a couple times. Take care!
  11. Anonymous, Please give us the size of session you had--asap. We need to compare it to our own sessions. Thanks!!!
  12. barley, If there's even the remotest possibility that you get a better yield/ transplant from shaving your head why wouldn't you do it?? If your doctor feels better--for whatever reason while working on you, that your head is shaved it's going to benefit you. I went in to my 2nd HT with my head shaved, and wasn't told to do it. It was just common sense to me that the doctor would have one less thing to deal with.
  13. mrkneed, It goes away after a good long while. I'm 9 weeks out of surgery and it's still there. I was suggested to use aloe vera on it but at the time-- a couple weeks out I didn't want to compromise the grafts. I feel definitely certain that avoiding a sunburn by always wearing a hat is a must for anyone. Read about Tricomin spray and the possibility of how it can aid the area.
  14. To all, Regarding Propecia, how would you sugggest I get a Propecia prescription filled without seeing a doctor. Trying to save time and money. Thanks.
  15. spineguyscott, Have you gone to their website lately? You can read about "Tricophytic closure technique".
  16. Unidel, I would take calvinmd's advice to heart. I've been taking Propecia for quite a while and would simply quit if I felt any side effects.
  17. Michaellovesnyc, I feel the same as you do. A few years back I went to a doctor whose consultant recommended for me 800 grafts. I thought at the time I was getting the real deal, but I didn't know. I really needed 3500 and eventually ended up going to a doctor a few years later that had proven results doing larger sessions. To me that's the way to go whenever possible. There is definitely pros and cons to both sides but I still lean toward the big session theories.
  18. rp1979,, Thanks for the tip! Have you ordered from that website offering Copper Pep before? Are they reputable? Thanks again.
  19. Giant, I hope you got the info you needed. I need to know if anyone can tell me ASAP where I can locate some Copper Peptide spray to possibly help with the redness after my HT. I am willing to order online or in a store.
  20. el guapo, I bet you could accidently expose your HT, like I did, and others are'nt even paying attention and they could care less! Just wear a hat anyway so your grafted area doesn't get sunburned. Nobody will ask-- 100% guaranteed or I'll pay for your HT.
  21. juan, I definitely admire your patience! There's no doubt that everyone grows in differently. I personally saw growth/thickening of my hair close to two years after my HT. Good luck! I've heard only very good things about Dr. Rose.
  22. zerosum, Checkout the Hasson & Wong website/videos of before and after and tell me what you think. Keep researching!
  23. Prophet, Can you remember when you started to see new growth after your HT? I am at the one and-a-half month mark post op. What can I expect at this point. Dr. Hasson was my doctor also. Thanks!
  24. KamCal, I just saw Dr. Hasson last month, and the only thing I could have done differently was to really be specific on the area I wanted filled in. If you can get some more pictures up and let Bill and the others hash it out with you, it would be better. Other than that, don't worry!! The doctor, the techs, the front desk people take such good care of you--you'll just have to see it for yourself! Is there any way you can stay in Vancouver for 10 days or so? I was able to come back after 10 days to let them take the staples out and check on things. You wouldn't regret it at all! Good luck but I don't think you'll need it plus the Canadians are so nice!
