  1. Congrads Relaxo. Make sure you stay on top of those pain killers. In other words don't take them like candy...but take them the second you feel a little pain coming on. On a scale of 1-10 some people wait untill the pain is a 5 and thay take one....big mistake. When you do this the painkiller takes longer to work. If you take them when you FIRST feel pain you'll be fine in twenty minutes. If you wait until you're a 5 it can take an hour and a half...that's silly. Everyone is different...but you get the idea. Good luck pal...welcome to the club. MH
  2. Hi all. I couldn't agree with you more MRJB. The WOW screaming gets a little old sometimes. Plenty of great Docs doing great work...don't need the parade. MH
  3. Thanks MRJB Pretty funny.....i havn't owned a blow drier in years.....maybe one day. Bumble & Bumble is good stuff. MH
  4. Hey MRJB. I also use a Bumble Product. Which one are you using ?? The one I use is called sumo tech. Thanks, MH
  5. Thanks NN, When all is said and done... i'll have five shampoos....lol. I'll check it out though. More_hair
  6. Hey Arrie...thanks for that info. I'm probably going to order it. I shower twice a day on workout days...so I'll be able to get it into my routine six times/week....even when using another shampoo. I'm just trying to get a regular regime and stick with it. Thanks, More_hair
  7. ngtogobald, Great stuff !!! I hope laughter makes these darn hairs grow faster. Also....are you sure he only sent you a picture of his hair ???......on second thought don't tell me....I want to continue on this forum for knowledge and not run for the hills....lol. More_hair
  8. Hey guys. I'm also getting the urge to buy Revita...guess it can't hurt. Any thoughts on using maybe every other day. The reason I'm thinking about doing this is I just purchased three bottles of aloe vera shampoo online. It's real cheap but organic and not full of alot of gunk that other shampoos have. I found it in a local health food store...but they were out of stock when i returned for my second bottle...found it online. Again...any thoughts of every other day with the Revita or do you need to use it everyday to get the full results. As always..thanks guys. More_hair
  9. HEY MRJB, I gotta tell ya...ya got Janna kicking her heals and used the term LUSH to describe your hair....I like and hate you at the same time....lol. But seriously...It's good to hear your feedback about graph count and density....thanks. I was kind've close to a NW5 and just grabbed 2800+ graphs. I guess if a second pass is in my future a ballpark of 2000graphs should set me free and have beautiful girls calling my hair LUSH dammit !!! More_hair
  10. Lenny, Best advice...talk ot some different Docs. Maybe FUE in your case may be what you need. I'm about 7 weeks post-op (2800+ graphs) Ya wanna know how i tested if i could get through the surgery....i read this forum...then talked to some of the better docs. My Doc has done THOUSANDS of these. I read alot of his reviews and talked to a few of his past patients. The past patients i talked to i found on my own. In other words i didn't want to just talk to some of his model patients. I know that sounds a little paranoid...but I wanted to be comfortable. The past patients I spoke with loved the way the procedure went. I also was very pleased with the entire process. Great Doc = great experience. Do your homework..TALK to a few docs. Also the regular guys on this forum know there stuff...their good guys...wont steer you wrong. More_hair
  11. Lenny. Unless your getting temple points done...400 graphs is going to yield you close to nothing to the naked eye. If your going to "experiment" with 400 graphs...your "test" will most likely seem like a failure.....because you'll probably see nothing. You should probably meet with a few of the respected Docs on this forum....and your concerns I'm sure will be easily answered. Only my opinion. More_hair
  12. Hey furless. Just curious when you feel the worst of your shockloss occured. I realize we all heal and react differently but I'm six weeks post -op (2872 graphs) and wondering if i'm over the hump with regards to shockloss. Also your a lucky guy...I got 5152 hairs out of my 2872 graphs....you're killing me with that hair count !!!!! NO soup for you !!!! (sorry...Big Seinfeld fan here) Happy New Year to all !!! More_hair
  13. Thanks Bill. I also have read mixed reviews about Vitamin E oil. Maybe It's better I just let time do its thing. Any opinion on how long pinkness can last ? As i mentioned it's not bad...but it's there. Thanks, More_hair
  14. Hey mrjb. I also have been using an aloe vera shampoo from a health food store from the beginning. I'm not REAL pink but it's still hanging in there a bit. More_hair
  15. Hi all. Just curious if anyone has used Vitamin E oil on the donor scar to help along the healing ?? I heard it can work miracles but is it ok to use on this type of scar ?? Also...I still have some pinkness on my recipient area(6 weeks post-op) and wonder if Vitamin E oil or pure aloe will help the pinkness subside. More_hair
  16. Dennis, Check the dates on the posts above...they are a year old. The great news is both of these guys have had excellent results with Dr.epstein. I've talked with one of the guys personally...he's loving life. I had my HT with Dr.Epstein 5 weeks ago. All went perfectly. I stayed at the Hampton Inn....it's five min. away. You're doing a mini-vacation thing. My trip down there was all about the HT. I got down there a day earlier and high-tailed it back home the following night. You're going to have a great experience with Dr.Epstein and his staff. My job went perfectly. Just my opinion...you're going to wanna go home when it's over. I've heard of guys hanging out after surgery and doing the vacation thing....go home and rest. You should be a little sore for about four days..the pain killers are a good thing. Talk to Roxy...she's a big help. The traffic sucks down there. The last thing you want to be worrying about is morning traffic....trust me. I left the Hampton Inn and was at Epsteins office in 4 minutes. Just my two cents. You're in top notch hands. Good luck, More-hair
  17. Hey thana. When you say "big sheds"..how bad was it for your buddy. The shedding is a big concern for me when considering starting with rogaine. Maybe I'm making to big a deal about it...maybe not. It's enough to have to deal with possible shockloss and all the other BS that comes with a HT...I don't want to add fuel to the fire. I going to call my doc on monday to get his advice...just wondering what you or anyone else felt about Rogaine and all the good/bad that comes with it. Maybe Bill is right...i should wait to see what my results look like after a year before getting on the rogaine. I'll will tell ya it's tempting to get on it now after reading what you and Janna had to say. More-hair
  18. Thanks guys. I just want to gather all the facts before starting with Rogaine. As we know propecia is a no brainer (easy to take)...rogaine a bit more involved (night time all that stuff)...a bit of a pain. Thana, From what you say about the evidence you've heard...(chia pet)you've caught my attention. Unless my hair grows in green like the the chia pet .....then i'll have to pass......lol As I mentioned earlier if I start taking rogaine...I hope i don't lose alot of native hair at first....wouldn't be fun. Thanks, more-hair
  19. Janna. Only I can confuse a simple question....lol. I DO have existing native hair on top. I had roughly my frontal 1/3...maybe a bit further back..done with 2800+graphs. My crown was basically untouched.(it's about the size of an egg) I will confront my crown with a possible 2nd procedure. Are you saying the rogaine will help native hairs on top in the future. This is where I have my facts wrong I guess. I thought these drugs (propecia, rogaine)only had a real effect on the crown. If you're saying Rogaine can effect the top (frontal 1/2) in the future...maybe i'll have to re-think this....and use it. Thanks Janna, More_hair
  20. Hey Janna. I'm just curious. From what i understand...if you discontinue Rogaine after using it awhile you will most likely lose what you gained/saved. I was under the understanding that this is true only in the crown area. The "new' hair in the recipient area is basically safe (permanent). What I'm getting at is the Rogaine in the recipient area is just to speed up the "new" hairs... is it not ?? But the rogaine use in the crown area is a lifelong commitment...along with propecia. I know it seems like I'm prolonging this question. I just don't want to start Rogaine and be stuck with it. I can deal with using it on the crown area forever...but hesitant to apply this stuff on my entire head forever. Thanks, More-hair
  21. Thanks Janna. I see your responses on here all the time...very informative. I'm ok with taking propecia (been on it for over a year). Do you agree that I should use the Rogaine on the recipient for just three months post-op ?? Kind've a jump start I guess. In this case I wouldn't mind using it. After the three months I would just use it on the crown at night...forever. Thanks, More_hair
  22. Hi all. I'm five weeks post-op and keep putting off using Rogaine. My Doc suggested using it on the recipient area for three months. He then suggested after three months just continue use on my crown. I'm currently using propecia (1.25 daily)and also msm 2000mg/day..biotin 2g/daily. I kinda want to stay away from the Rogaine. Has anyone seen a real speed-up of growth with Rogaine ?? Does anyone feel there is a real dis-advantage not using Rogaine ?? I heard when first using the Rogaine you can trigger a loss of hair....I want to avoid this. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, More_hair
  23. Hi All. Just wondering if it is possible for some of the new hairs to grow at "funny" angles when first appearing....especially along the hairline where this would be easily seen. Thanks, More_hair
  24. Arizona... Whatever you do ...don't worry. I'm 24 days post-op so it's all fresh in my mind. You most likely will be given a valium ect.and this will really relax you. I felt almost nothing...really. You feel the needle pinches and the next thing you know you're donor site is removed and your just loving life knowing the worst is over and your head is being filled with new hair. I'm not kidding you i've had worse dentist visits then this thing. Keep in mind everyone is different...but i'm sure some others guys will back me up on this...it's alot easier then you think. The next day you'll have some pain/soreness maybe..the pain killers wipe it out. Look up and down this site...there are no horror stories...not even close. For roughly 10 days post-op you'll be a little uncomfortable...no big deal. Showering is a little different during this time...again..no big deal. FOLLOW the docs orders...you'll be fine. more_hair
  25. He's probably not a bad guy.....but go to the tables and try to win some money.....yikes. More_hair
