  1. Kulmd. I also was told to start Rogaine Foam two weeks post-op. I'm now three post-op and going to wait until mon. to begin with the foam. I wasn't shaved down...but still a little pink in graph area. More_hair
  2. Hey all. Looking to add Omega 3 to my diet. Any feedback/recomendations would be appreciated. I've heard and read some info that it can be a real important addition to ones diet...real interested. I'm now taking daily: 2000mg msm/3gm biotin/good multi/extra Vitamin C/zinc 50mg...and of course Finasteride 1.25 daily. Thanks, More-hair

  4. I agree with Anouar. Even if after all is said and done the doc in question turns out not to be "unethical"...you still have a right to an opinion. I find it funny but fully understand how people are afraid to mention docs names. Only my opinion but Docs are like anyone else...paid to perform a service. Lean on them...if you didn't pay him he'd lean on you....no ??.....I'm not bitter....lol. More_hair More_hair
  5. Secret... He's going to sue you for what ??? You're only giving a review of what you had done....free country remember. We're all here to help...you might save the next guy from so-so results. More-hair
  6. Thanks Richie. I guess I'll just gently place a little on the top (recipient area). This is my first haircut since surgery and I have a streak of gray hair running along where the donor was cut(mostly above both ears)...looks obvious too all something happened. If I can blend that in...all will be cool. Also I was worried about the sutured line(scar) and its reaction to the Just For Men. Thanks, More_hair
  7. Hi All. I'm 20 days post-op. Is it ok to use hair coloring at this point ?? I use Just For Men to get the gray out. Also is it ok to start using hair gel ? I heard it ok at this point but figured I'd toss it out there. Thanks, More_hair
  8. Again only my opinion... A day working at a desk wouldn't effect the outcome of the surgery. It's not at all impossible to go back the next day to work...it's just going to be a long day. My doc and many others give you a spray post-op to spritz on your head every thirty minutes while you're awake (keeps the area moist...helps the healing process) If you're at work...be ready to make 12 bathroom trips during the day....not fun. As i said...it's possible to return to work...just tough. My suggestion if possible...take Thurs/fri. off. Surgery on Thurs..three days off...monday return to work. That's assuming your a Mon-fri guy. More_hair
  9. Danielkiwi... I think some of the variables Bills thinking about are... ---we all deal with pain/healing differently How's your ability to deal with pain ?? I think all the guys on here will tell you the next day isn't horrible...but there's some pain/soreness/stiffness....not a great day. You're taking painkillers most likely...sleepy and groggy all day...couch/TV heaven. --how big is your job ?? Eight hours in a chair..who wouldn't want the next few days to decompress ?? Are you traveling ?? Airports all that crap...only adds to it. Alot of the docs websites talk about next day returning to work...you can...but it's a bit of a stretch. Only my opinion...three days minimum. More-hair
  10. Hey there. I just had my Ht last week. Ask your Doc..i'm sure he checked..how "loose" your scalp is. Not saying don't do the scalp exercises...but it makes sense some need it more than others. Even though my doc didn't really make a big deal about the exercises..I did them a week before surgery...maybe ten days prior. My doc got the projected 2600 graphs with no problem....actually got 2800+ graphs total. Good luck...keep reading this forum....the regulars on here really know there stuff. More_hair
  11. Hey Emu, Hang in there buddy. What the guys are telling you Benedryel, ice ect..will help. You should be getting those staples out anyday now....My sutures were removed yesterday and my surgery was 2 days prior to yours if I'm not wrong. My advice...be around people...phone calls...talk long walks. Sitting around makes anything negative worse. More_hair
  12. Looking good flyby. I had basically the same amount of graphs(2800+) placed in the the same area as you last week.(nov 28th) I also threw up that night...it's the meds plus the nerves...totally normal. The pain/stinging/soreness(donor area)..ect....will ease up alot in the next three to five days. Today I took two normal showers and feel 200% better then just three days ago. Heal well..get sleep. 13. WeAreCured... Congrads on it being over...nice feeling isnt it. I also feel awesome compared to the first two nights. What I'm shocked about is there is really no pinkness at all.....and that's after 2800 graphs. I know we all heal differently...but once these scabs are gone(hopefully soon)...I mean this being undetectable lets say after two weeks is really a nice surprise. I'm also back to 100% in the shower routine. Best of luck WeAreCured !!! Hopefully by the middle of next summer we are living large. More_hair
  14. Today was my first shower/shampoo where i had water from the showerhead hitting my head. It wasn't full blast but alot more than the shower with a cup routine. Also did some rubbing to get the scabs off. My question: (i think i've seen this question here before) Is it normal for the "new hairs" to be falling out (saw a few in my hand) with little bulbs, if you will, attached to them ??? Or did I just flush about $475 dollars down my shower drain....lol. More-hair

  16. Correction above : It WOULD HAVE NOT hurt if I looked at old pics pre-op. More_hair
  17. Interesting. I didn't look at any pics before I had the job done....it would've have hurt if i did. After I returned home(post-op) a buddy of mine gave me the idea to look at old pics. I found some from when I was around 28 yrs. old(12 yrs ago) Looking at what Dr.Epstein and I agreed was a good placement for the new hairline was fine. I figure If all grows in as planned my hairline will easily be what I had in those old pics....maybe a little more. I think alot of these docs would rather go a bit conservative rather than over the top. You can always add a bit of hairline plus add overall density in a possible 2nd procedure. I figure if you go to aggressive...your stuck with it. It's only my opinion and I know alot of guys say get as much as you can the first time. I don't know...i think that's all up to the individual. Mrjb is happy with his results...he did it in three jobs....that's cool. I have no problem with a 2nd job if it's needed. I figure I've been thinning for fifteen years...if it takes two years/2 jobs to get it perfect...so be it. Only my opinion..i figure with the consevative approach you can't get hurt. More_hair
  18. Also Jddidt.... I must tell you I'm seeing VERY little pinkness one week out. And of the 2800+ graphs I received...most of them are frontal 1/3...maybe some back around the 1/2 to crown...but not many. Or maybe I'm in for a surprise and when the scabs come off (starting tomorrow i hope) the pinkness will occur. Let's see. More_hair
  19. Jddidt. Thanks alot. I'll look for it tomorrow. I only can assume it will help the sutures come out alot easier also. I'm seeing Dr.Epstein here in NYC to get the sutures removed this Friday. More_hair
  20. Hey Jddidt. I just found the bag balm online. Did you use it right after surgery or wait until the sutures were out ??? Thanks, More_hair
  21. Hey Guys. Bill. I got ya. Gentle longer..rather than harder for a shorter period of time...makes sense. Jddidt...thanks pal The doc's people also told me about conditioner...also said leaving it on there for a bit would help remove and dried blood around the sutured line also. When you say "bag balm" is that a brand of balm? There's one little area along the sutured line that feels a little more sensative than the rest. I was thinking about putting a little Bacitracin zinc ointment (antibiotic) on that tiny spot just to soothe it(protect it). Figured it can't hurt. Any thoughts ??? Thanks guys, more_hair
  22. Hey guys. One week will have passed tomorrow and feeling good. --realize it's only one week and the donor area goes from feeling like nothing has happened to slight throbbing, stinging feeling sometimes...normal I guess ?? --Was instructed to start showering tomorrow normally and start to rub the graph areas to get those scabs off...they look like little brown scabs...how hard should I rub those babies ?? I realize not to pick off with fingernails. --Also have read that aloe vera gel not lotion could be applied to graph areas to ease itching/help heal...will it help ?? I went to the health food store and found gel that was 99 or 98 % aloe...is that cool ?? --is there anything I should apply to the donor area to help with the slight throbbing/stinging ?? Thanks to all. Can't believe it's a week. Why don't I look like Elvis yet ??...kidding. More_hair

  24. Glock08, Thanks for the "congrats". All is cool...going through that first week nervous phase. Hope all is well with ya. Ailene, Thanks for help. Your directions basically mirror Dr.Epsteins. He wants no direct shower for a full week. Basically shower with a cup first seven days. I'm just having a little trouble getting some dried blood off my skin along the donor area. Maybe just being a wimp and should really rub to get that blood off....man it's like glue !! Bill, As usual thanks for all the help. I had talked to Dr.Epstein about the fact that I felt there was some oozing of blood. He also said it shouldn't be but advised me to place gauze over the area I thought was oozing and put the headband they supplied to me over it ...overnight. He suggested the next day shower (with a cup of course)and it should be fine. I had my doubts...he was right on...no oozing at all. When do you guys suggest rubbing the graph area to get off those scabs ?? Now I'm just pouring shampoo over the top off my head...maybe lightly patting it. Thanks to you all, More_hair
