  1. Personally, I wouldn't touch minoxidil for any reason. It was bad for me from the first time I ever tried it and actually produced negative results, in my experience.
  2. I agree about saving donor area right now. You may think if you get it to a perfect head of hair, you won't have to worry about the future. If that's what you're thinking, you need to dismiss those thoughts right away. I started getting hair transplants when I was starting to go bald. My first transplant was in 1998 and I was 31 years old at the time. The second transplant was more for density, as the third was mostly density too, save for some areas that had started to thin a bit more. By my fourth transplant, there were areas that were thinned further that really bothered me but we filled those in, mostly and luckily added density in some other areas that needed it too. In 2012, when I was 46, I had my fifth transplant and it really did a nice job and again, it was mostly for density from what I already had transplant but there were areas that had thinned a bit more that I noticed, although not many others did. Still I had one area in particular that I wanted more density in. This month, I had my 6th transplant to fill in a couple of areas that bothered me a little but I still wanted to fill them in. Now, 5949 grafts later, I have to be satisfied, because I'm out of donor area. The point of all of this is that as you age, certain areas may thin more than others or areas you don't expect may thin. If you end up at 40 with no more donor area left and your hair continues to thin in certain areas after that, then what?
  3. Personally, I think longer hair like that with the type of thinning that you have only emphasizes the thin spots. I don't see any loss on the sides, so it seems that you could easily cut it close on the sides and leave it longer on top (say 3" or so). Toppik would help but I might also suggest a way to help keep the spots that bother you better concealed is to try hair spray. There is a product call Bed Head for Men. Use the strong hold. It's unscented, so you won't have to worry about it smelling like a woman's hair spray.
  4. I'd agree that your expectations are unrealistic. You've had almost as many grafts done in three surgeries as I have in six. The photo you've posted of your hairline looks like you have a great, thick head of of hair with excellent density.
  5. Since 1998, I've had 6 hair transplants. In July 2015, I had the 6th. I'm unable to have future hair transplants, because I'm now out of donor area. Still, overall, I'm happy with my hairline and the last transplant was to fill in a thin spot that bothered me but mostly just to add more density.

    July 16th, 2015. 6th & final transplant

On July 16th, 2015, I had my 6th and final hair transplant. On this date, 1117 grafts were transplanted. This is my final hair transplant because I'm now out of donor area but overall, I'm happy with my hairline anyway. This final transplant was strictly for density. There were a couple of thinner spots that I noticed, although no one else seemed to notice them. The photos are two days post op. I couldn't wash my hair the day following surgery and these were taken just after I did wash it. I've tried to comb it back as best I can to give you a good view of where the grafts are.
  7. Under direct light, it's a little thin but it looks like you're getting good coverage.
  8. Over time, I'd think the costs for the hair system would be more expensive. I'd also have to agree about the insecurity mentioned. As horribly self-concious as I am, I'd much rather be bald than have something like that glued on my head.
  9. I don't see how it's a problem at all. Except for a couple days after the transplant, I've used a blow dryer on my hair daily. No issues at all.
  10. Yeah, no worries. I've pulled a graft out twice after surgery because I kept playing with it. It was difficult not too, because it itched so much. As gillenator said, you will know if you pull one out. I kept thinking "How can so much blood come out of a tiny hole like that"?
  11. I wasn't on Propecia at the time of my first or second transplant, however, I was on it for the thrid and thereafter. I'mcertain that I had less shock loss and stronger growth.
  12. I had a transplant in October. My hairline was brought down slightly and to make it look natural, the sides of the temples had to be brought in slightly as well. I'm 2 1/2 months in and I still have some redness in the lower temple area. It's fading though. No worries at all.
  13. I've had 5 transplants from Tessler and Aronovitz since 1998. Dr. Tessler did the first three and Dr. Aronovitz did the last two. Professional, top notch work from both doctors. Dr. Tessler retired, however, I'd recommend Dr. Aronovitz without hesistation. Take a look at my profile for pictures.
  14. I don't have a dog in this fight. As I've said, I don't know the doctor and I don't know anyone who's had a hair transplant from him either. Nothing in my post detracts from him being a knowledgeable doctor and if you were going to see him in regard to a HT, I would expect him to be honest with you as well. I'm simply relaying that I've seen something similar to this happen in the past. Of course you wouldn't see anything on the forum in regard to him asking for money. I would think the board moderators would instantly take a topic of that nature and shut it down. I'm guessing that a few enterprising people have thought to themselves how good this idea sounds and that if it's going to get FDA /patent approval, maybe they can get in on the ground floor and make a few bucks. Without a doubt, it would be a private correspondence. I have no knowledge of anything like this happening. For all I know, it never has and I'm simply a babbling idiot. I simply stumbled on the topic on the bulletin board and read it. To be clear to others: Don't listen to me. Do your own research, make your own decisions and if by chance you get a HT from this doctor (using or not using his scarless technique), please post your results.
  15. I hate to rain on everyone's joy parade but I'm a huge skeptic. Be very cautious. This mirrors an experience that I had years ago, buying stock in a small biotech company. Supposedly, they had developed a new device and surgical technique for cataract surgery. They painted a pretty picture and gave a very optimistic outlook, including assurances of FDA approval. When people pushed them for more substance or meetings, something always happened. Time tables didn't match up, last minute issues popped up, etc. There were bulletin boards then too. They had several people posting that had claimed to have seen the device and the technique work, then subsequently vouched for it. It was touted as revolutionary. When they were questioned strenuously or when interested seemed to wane, more postitive news would pop up, mostly in regard to interested investors or pending FDA approval. I can go on but I think most of you can see where this is going. The glowing supporters turned out to be plants. Let me say that I don't know this surgeon and I don't know anyone who has had a transplant from him. He may be a phenomenal surgeon for all I know. Regardless, flares went up when I read this thread. Truly, I won't be surprised if I hear that people have contacted him in regard to being investors, hear that some have already invested or that he's planning on incorporating and having an IPO as soon as the FDA approval comes through.
  16. Considering that the patient was almost completely bald on top, I'd say the results are very good. The second surgery should make a dramatic difference. I'm looking forward to seeing the results after that one.
