Don't panic they are perfectly normal. The gaps are commonly referred to as "valleys" and I had them too after my first HT.

I thought when you said second pass you meant going over the same area again, my mistake. I can see how adding temple points will be the icing on the cake. Congrats again with your result.

Thanks for the reply richie, I am good thanks mate. Sounds like you and Dr. Feller have a good plan. I thought maybe you had a lot of singles in your strip from your first HT hence the reason for adding more grafts into the crown. And why I asked if you knew the hair counts. As you know the hair count is just as, maybe even more, important than the graft count. Regardless you are going to be set once your second session fully grows in.

No worries SH. I have done another comparison with pre op, post op and 4.5 months. I think it shows the area which you are concerned about is a mixture of transplants and native hair. But you still have lots of growth to come as you're only 6 months post op. Hope this helps.

Hi SH, I have done a comparison pic to try and make it easier to compare. But your pics are poor quality and are in different lighting conditions. Do you have any pre op pics? I also found that liquid minox made my hair greasy and look worse after applying it. But the foam minox made my hair looked fuller and better. Have you tried the foam? This is 6 weeks, 4.5 months, 5.75 months and 6 months I think.

Looking at your pic I would say you are not a very good candidate for any kind of HT. The donor hair on your sides looks very thin. I would advise to really look into what can be achieved with HT surgery and not rush into anything. But that's just my opinion.

Awesome result pal! Are you really going in for a second pass? I'm not sure you need it looking at your pics but obviously you will know better. Are you planning on lowering your hairline or adding density to the existing one and further back?

Looking good richie, starting to fill in at 6 months. I am curious about the density in your crown and found this on your blog describing it after your first session. The approximate area covered was almost square measuring 7cm by 5cm , 35 sq/cms so I should get density of around 60 grafts per sq/cm , this was dicussed with Dr Feller as the best way to compliment my existing hair density as i tend to wear my hair longer , surfer style . You had 60 fu/cm2 in your crown from your first session. Do you know how many more grafts were added in your crown in session two? Do you know the hair counts from your HTs? Just wondering if you have beat my record of 72 fu/cm2 crown dense packing.

I thought it was more than that but looking again there are lots of little scabs in there too making it appear more dense. Still great work though. I wouldn't expect it be fully grown out in 6 months, especially considering it's the crown. So good luck with the waiting which is the worst part of the whole HT process.

Wow, that is one densely packed crown and the work looks great. Do you know the density? Dr. Feriduni is an excellent choice so it should look great when grown out. But remember crowns take longer for some reason. Congrats.

Yes I am very happy with my results and feel almost like I was pre hair loss. But this isn't possible for everyone because HTs are purely about numbers, the more loss you have the more grafts you need.

Thanks Hariri. I hope you are right but only time will tell. But if the rest of my hair has the same genetics as my elder brother (44yo) and father (70yo) who haven't suffered from MPB, then you might be correct. Both of my HTs were strip NHP.

I am 12 months post op now and just have a few more months until it fully matures. I am keeping it very short until then and these pics are one week out from a buzz cut number 3 all over. I am thrilled with how it looks.

Yes, most do but not all. If you are a candidate for high density (65+) by having an above average donor supply, unlikely to progress to a high NW level and are at an appropriate age then Dr. Rahal will give you more than the "illusion of density". The result of my first HT with him gave me the "illusion of density". He filled in 80% of my crown with an average density of 47 FUs cm2. When I returned three years later I was a candidate for high density. So Dr. Rahal filled in 100% of my crown with an average density of 72 FUs cm2. I have seen results from other Docs as well where they have dense packed a lot of grafts into small areas. And they are known for being conservative.

Cheers guys. fra03, It has cost me about 11,000 pounds including everything. But the exchange rate was a lot better in Jan 2008. businesspro, I had some shock loss on the scar which is what you can see in some of the pics. This is quite common and returns when the scar has healed. I can get away with it buzzed to a 3 and might try a 2. The scar really doesn't bother me and I wouldn't care even if it was slightly visible cos the average person wouldn't notice it. Hence me buzzing it to a 3 at eight weeks post op with shock loss. Dr. Rahal requires the recipient area to be shaved but not the whole head, that was personal choice.

Hi mate, I have had a total of 5400 grafts (12,306 hairs) into a 75cm2 area. This produces an average density of 72 FUs per cm2 and Dr. Rahal said it is 75% of the original density. Hope this helps, good luck with your crown procedure.

Happy New Year! I am nearly 8 months post op now and I have grown my hair out a bit. These pics are with wet hair and then some with gel in after. I am very happy with how it looks but I know there is more to come. I remember from my first HT that it took ages to fully mature, past the one year mark.

It's very hard to diagnose early balding in the crown. Some people have a more noticeable swirl than others. If you are seeing changes then maybe you are just starting to thin. Keep a close eye on it and get on Finasteride and/or Minoxidil asap if you definitely are balding. Not everyone has a receding hairline with crown balding.

Joke or not, it really tickled me. guapo, The first rule of HT research is, don't let location be a factor. I travelled from the UK to Canada to get the Surgeon of my choice....twice.

If you are a NW5A then Dr. Rahal won't lower your hairline and close your temples. He only gives Rock Star Hair to suitable candidates and not everyone who walks through his door.
