  1. And to think of it that when I first saw the picture, I thought the hairline is too straight. I must be getting to perfectionist or a pain in ***.
  2. Blackeyes, I have had multiple transplants with Dr. Arvind. He is one of the most professional and upfront doctor I have come across. I am happy with the results too. Reg the website, I think it may have more to do with the webmaster acting on his own than any deliberate attempt on part of the doctor. Good luck with your research.
  3. Because, u may left with an odd looking hairline , maybe even a dense one, in front, with nothing behind that. Then, not only the girls, but the boss, kids and friends will all keep looking up towards your scalp when talking to you. Worse still, you may have lost most of your donor by that time in an attempt to create a low, dense hairline in your 20s.
  4. I know what u r talking about man. U sing hallelujhas for the advertisers or u r shmuck and need being kicked off.
  5. I say, dump the dermatologist fast. Go find a second opinion. How about posting some pictures of your hairloss. Will be easier to advise that way.
  6. sorry for being too harsh. I am sure u did ur research. Gud luck. Can u post some pictures of this hairline u r so worried about?
  7. Nice to know u had a good experience. Keep in touch and pictures will be in order, if possible. Happy hair growth.
  8. A hair transplant disaster in making if I ever saw one. Yes, thats what you are going for. You have quoted all the reasons why you should not be getting a HT. You cant travel. U have vacation. U have bucks and ur hairline is a wee bit receded. So?! Research more dear fellow hair loss sufferer. I do not mean to be harsh. But u do need to research a lot more. If you ever do go ahead with your ht, please go for a fue. Choose a doctor who can transplant densely. And make sure you see his results real close up to be sure they look natural. I bet if you find such a good doctor, he will not transplant you. Not yet, anyway.
  9. You will need more than 1000 grafts for the hairline. A transplant for 500 grafts is a non essential ht. I will strongly recommend you to research the fue alternative for such small numbers.
  10. Have you ever thought of making the basic ht framework by scalp ht and to fill the density by using bodyhair? In my opinion, thats the way to go.
  11. No, Franklin, the real doctors that have taken the limelight away from Woods are Dr. A in India and his protege Dr. Umar. They can take out grafts that Woods can not. IMO, Woods is now attending the seminar only to speak on the relevance of fue. Nothing about the actual technique. I think, now it is a lifelong compulsion for him to hide his technique. Else, the world will come to know that his methods are just the commonplace fue, that any committed doctor can accomplish on the scalp. After all these many years, he has categorically stated on that other site that his technique is apt to give white dot scarring in the scalp. Besides, he can not take out thigh, leg, armpit or pubic hair. Hardly a person to represent the cutting edge of fue. Yes, his attendance will be of some nostalgia value. It will show how he missed the oppurtunity of a lifetime to earn respect when he could, and chose, instead, to succumb to a small business mentality of hoarding what he knew. And now, no one wants his knowledge. Sad, but true.
  12. I read once that their lady doctor is great to look at. I do not know about their ht skills though.
  13. The other doctor you mention says that there are chances of hypopigmented scarring developing in the donor areas with FIT. Did Dr. Rose use donor sealing method to rectify that?
  14. Or get >2000 fue grafts from Dr.A But thats the patient's prerogative. So lets leave at that.
  15. With all due respect, I think you are about to commit a mistake. Better save the money and go for a denser ht somewhere down the line. This will not look good. If you want a litmus test, there is one. Choose a sq cm in you donor area. Thin out the hair so that only 30 FU are left per sq cm. You will know, with one look, what you are going to end up with. And that is if a 100% grafts grow. Do not forget that 15% of the transplanted hair will be in telogen even at full yeild. So, go ahead and do yourself this favor.
  16. The best thing about fue is that you can go for small size ht. Something I do not think of with strip ht. Do remember to get the donor area sealed to avoid white dot scarring. Good luck. Keep us posted on your future decisions and outcome.
  17. While you are at it, why not get a small number of body hair transplanted. Say just 50 or so. That way, you will get a chance to see how your body hair grows. That is how I came to know about the efficacy of body hair in my case. Just had 50 body hair grafts placed in an area during my regular ht. The results assured me about the benefits of using body hair and I have since then, not looked back.
  18. That is probably due to the limited donor available from scalp. While sub follicular grafting is reprehensible, I think doctors should concentrate part of their efforts on learning extraction of body hair to be used as an adjunct to scalp donor hair. There are doctors that are acheiving a good yeild as well as early growth with body hair grafts on a consistent basis. Any HT basically involves relocation of hair from one part of the scalp to other. No actual addition. To really increase the actual number of hair on scalp, you need body hair.
  19. Go with the doctor u initially planned on. Any last minute changes will have you sick with worry over the coming months thinking that maybe you would have been better off with the other doctor. That does not mean there's anything wrong with the other doctor. Its just elemantary psychology.
  20. Take a good close up picture of the recipient area with a measuring scale alongside. Put the picture on paint and you can actually count how many grafts are growing in 1 sq cm. What you imply is that you are seeing only 3-5 hair per sq cm. Try it.
  21. The second time round, do not expect the same dramatic results that you saw the first time. Its like eating a burger when you are starving. And then eating a second one on a half full stomach. The second one will be no match to the first. When you had the first HT, if it was on empty scalp, and now the 2nd is between hair, don't expect to see similar results lookwise. Was it the same doctor both times? Who was the doctor?
  22. Thanks. Just idle curiosity. Was it a needle or a custom cut blade? To my knowledge, which may be incomplete there is no standard device. Different doctors prefer different tools for making the slits.
  23. I concur with you Pat. Thanks for some valuable advise. I think you should also point out that by conventional strip FU transplants, all that can be acheived is about a 10% restoration on anyone above or at NW5. No matter how large the strip. So, its a good idea to plan beforehand for the real results one will be getting. I personally beleive, (just my opinion), that a complete hair restoration needs way more grafts than can ever be acheived from the scalp donor. That is where the body hair can and should be incorporated. However, most doctors worldwide are yet to learn the method. I hope, in years to come, true restorations using a combination of scalp and body hair will become the norm.
  24. If you are scheduled with whom I think you are,I would advise you to get some more consults. There are some donor area scar issues with the fue doctor of Atlanta. Have you tried an online consult with Dr. Woods of Australia. He was the actual originator of fue, I think. Or try Dr. AP, aka Dr. A of India. He too seems to have lots of results and is credited with efforts at eliminating fue scarring.
