  1. Thanks Pete. I was leaning towards FUE simply because I like the way my scar has healed and was even hoping to maybe fill some of it in if possible. I was hoping FUE had progressed enough in that time to get similar results. But seems like the technology has not changed much since then.
  2. I have never heard of topical fin but am going to look into it. Do you know if there are any sexual side effects?
  3. Hey gang. I had an FUT (3,750) back in 2010 with Dr Hasson. He mostly did the front and left the back to propecia (which I’ve had to discontinue.) I think it’s time for a 2nd procedure to fill it in. Before I progress to discussing with doctors, trying to educate myself a little again on procedures. Do you guys think FUE will be enough or would I require another FUT (if possible)? Propecia isn’t an option for me anymore, sadly. My precious FUT scar isn’t bad at all (thanks Dr Hasson) so I’m not opposed to that. Just not sure it’s necessary.
  4. This is very interesting, I didn't know there were so many variables involving doubles and triples, tho it makes obvious sense. (And yes, I do have a big head.)
  5. Not really about testosterone, just the way your body is affected. My testosterone is high; above 700, but still affects me. I know other guys who are the opposite with no effect.
  6. As I posted on another thread, I used to use 1.25mg but got too many side effects and then tried it again at .5mg and this time, I have no side effects. Using .5mg along with Rogaine has thickened up my crown quite a bit and even thickened my hairline a little bit (enough for my friends to comment on.)
  7. I used to take 1.25 finasteride but I wasn't happy with the side effects either and stopped. I decided to try it again on advice of Dr True, at .5mg this time, and so far, everything is great. No side effects but my crown has definitely thickened up. I also use Rogaine on it to enhance it further.
  8. I had septo/rhino/oto, tho. Where did you have yours done? Mine was in NY, which is pretty expensive.
  9. I was told mine was 1cm wide and I got about 3800+ grafts out of it (something like 3825.)
  10. I've seen this hairloss pattern in NY on many Indian men and always wondered what it would be considered on the Norwood scale. Fantastic work by Dr. Wong.
  11. I had my septorhino (and oto) plasty yesterday. My HT cost me about $16,900 and this cost me about $15, 700 so that's a lot for two surgeries in a 4 month span (tho the septo was the main goal; the other two were just mini tweaks.) After this, though, that's it.
  12. Men do experience side effects; it happens with any drug. I was one of those men. Cut your dosage in half and try that. I've done that for the last 5 months and haven't had ANY problems this time. Libido is the same, no tender nipples, no funky semen, no weak erections. I still had my crown thicken up and a little bit of thickening in my front area. It's probably not as much as I would achieve at full dosage, but it's an excellent trade-off.
  13. I've never done that, but also none of mine have hurt. My head was pretty numb up until a couple weeks ago.
  14. The scar looks great, really really good! My hair is about the same length, but I think fewer hairs have grown in. I had mine early October.
  15. I leave them. They aren't the same kind of pimples that grow on your face. At first I expected them to stay for a few days or require benzoyl peroxide or something, but each pimple has a very short shelf life (2 days or so) and aren't obvious. Sometimes I'll towel dry a little harder than usual and it does the trick.
  16. Thanks, that's exactly what I did. Headed to True & Dorin and picked up some Dermmatch 5 minutes before they closed. Whew! Hope it works to hide my shockloss from the strip.
  17. Do they sell Toppik at stores or only online? I just got a haircut for my birthday weekend and they used a 1 clip too high and it went into my scar area in the back a little bit (I'm only at 3 months mark post-FUT.) Anywhere I can buy it in person before tmrw??
  18. Have tried propecia at a lower dosage? I used to take 1.25g of finasteride and got too any side effects too. I'm now at .5mg of propecia and am TOTALLY fine. And my hair is definitely thickening in the crown area. I started using rogaine as well (5mg)
  19. Your hair is long enough that you can trim the rest of it and it would blend in really well. I had my HT on Oct 1 and still have some shockloss around my scar region. I got a haircut today and he went a little too high on the back with a grade 1 clip; you can see some scar shockloss. Has your scar been healing well? looks like it.
  20. I definitely get excited! I love seeing them. I just reached 3 months and am hoping that there is more hair to come after this.
  21. I was one of those 1-2% who experience side effects. I finally went back on propecia after my HT in October, but this time I took it at half dosage. So far, no side effects and it (along with rogaine) has helped my crown get much thicker (which was untouched during the HT.)
  22. That's what I figured. Thanks Joe
  23. Another scar question from me. Background info again: Had 3800+ hairs transplanted from a 1cm or so FUT by Dr. Hasson early October. Was one of the unlucky few who get shockloss all over scar line. It's now been almost 3 months and just came back from a haircut and it's looking much better. Just curious though: Does hair shockloss return when the rest of shockloss on recipient area does? Or will it be earlier or later? My scar is my biggest concern, even over the transplanted hair on head. Thanks guys!
  24. waveskier: that's great to hear. When it gets really cold, or when I am seated in a certain position for a long period of time, I feel like my head is tighter and it takes a little bit of movement to get back. Is that normal? RCWest: Yeah they said something like 'ridiculous density.'
  25. I'm in NY and yes, would travel. I'm hoping to get my septum corrected as well; I remember my father going through the surgery a few years ago and it seemed really painful, but hopefully it will help me breathe easier as well. I've been researching online so far, different types of procedures and such, the only thing is most of the before/afters are of women and I want to see someone who specializes in men, I guess you could say.
