I have seen this countless times over many decades and albeit not the most common where only the crown has loss, but it does occur in some men.

Please allow me to first say a big congrats on a large procedure and that so far, you are happy with the results…listen my friend, losing 10-20 hairs per wash is perfectly normal and I agree that it is probably just some native hair that sheds in its normal cyclical behavior…it would be nice to see some before pics along with some at the 12 month mark and then at 15 months…ENJOY!

Gats, I laughed so hard at the “water board” pic at the sink!😂
You look like a rockstar! 😎

So in my case since its been now 4 months post op, if I take min will I experience shedding? I dont want to destroy 4 months of hair growth progress just to shed and start regrowth all over again.
The shedding does not happen to everyone however it’s the “initial” use that increases the risk of post-op shedding…based on your first post, you are well ahead with your growth since the surgery so IMHO, you do not need anything to facilitate your regrowth…your body is already doing an excellent job and all you need to do is watch it grow!…remember this, “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it!”

Pics would definitely help and take a closer look at docs in Europe.

Don't get a hair transplant just because you happen to be there (wherever that may be, not just Turkey). There's a lot more to a hair transplant than just adding some hair to thinning areas. If it's not done right you'll be in much worse shape than not doing it at all.
Well said!

I agree Gats, I never saw or heard of any “clinical” studies that were done on either one.

It’s the “initial” use of minoxidil and/or finasteride that can potentially induce shedding so I am of the opinion that it’s best to wait for the regrowth to take place before starting the drug for the first time.
Having said that, it’s okay to “resume” using minoxidil approximately 4 weeks post-op for those individuals who have been using it prior to surgery.
Lastly, I never have heard of anyone experiencing sexual side effects from using minoxidil.

I was also using Creatine at the same time and it was probably that, not the Whey that could have induced some shedding, but who knows?
I was recently divorced back then and living under a lot of stress and that also may have caused some shedding.

It is important that we maintain a clean scalp so that the scalp can breathe and emit natural oils.
If protein fibers or other cosmetic topicals are not washed and removed, they can potentially clog the pores and stunt hair growth…the same is true for hair spray and gels…they should be consistently washed away.

HappyMan, trust me, you would definitely feel a sunburn if those UV rays damaged your scalp…IMHO, the window deflected more of the rays than penetrating the surface of your scalp.
omarca, I replied to your PM a few minutes ago and let me know if you have any other questions.

There really are no clinical studies that verify this however some guys believe and/or claim that it does…for me, I seemed to have several periods of sheds, nothing acute but I definitely noticed more hair shafts in my fingers when I would shampoo…I quit using it because whey protein supplements really were not making that much of a difference when I lifted weights.

At this point you owe it to yourself to get your scalp, especially your donor microscopically examined to see if your donor hair is suitable for transplantation.
-
A distinction or determination definitely needs to be made.

Although not typical at this point in time post-op, it can happen and it’s more of sympathetic shed, nothing to be alarmed about.

I agree…the FUE surgeon can cherry pick softer texture or finer caliber grafts especially when establishing a new hairline.
-
As HappyMan pointed out, it’s not unusual for there to be small areas that are barren of hair…even if it is a scar, the area is pink and a good sign of blood flow so I think a very small amount of FUE grafts would grow…your surgeon could harvest a small number of beard grafts from areas on your face that are much denser for donor.

They must have someone who monitors that app every day.

I like the results that I'm seeing by patients of Dr Laorwong.
I agree and IMHO, there are so many more FUE surgeons worldwide doing top notch work to consider that it’s getting more difficult to choose from!

No, shaving down to your bare scalp will not destroy hair follicles…it’s DHT that destroys hair follicles…but this is a degenerative process that takes place over a long period of time…each time a follicle fulfills a complete growth cycle consisting of grow, shed, and rest, DHT miniaturizes those receptive follicles until they are very small and eventually shut down any hair growth…Can DHT eventually destroy receptive follicles?…yes, but again this takes longer periods of time and why MPB is classified as a lifetime genetic progression.
This is why certain hairloss medications such as low dose finasteride are so crucial to preventing further genetic hair loss because finasteride and dutasteride (DUT) have been clinically proven to effectively inhibit DHT.

Good for you…now, your recipient area has a clean crust free environment for the regrowth of your grafts!

Temple points need to be lighter, softer, slower growing hair. These grafts are generally taken from behind the ears.
This is very true and highly recommended!

You heal very well my friend!

A very simple way to evaluate diffusing hair is to take some samples of the diffused hair and some samples of hair from the donor zone and lay them down on a sheet of white paper such as printer paper… then use a magnifying glass and compare the differences in hair shaft diameter (caliber)…it will be easier to visually see the differentials of the hair shafts from each other when they are laid side by side on white paper.
Is there a chance I might have damaged my grafts ?
