  1. @Berba11 @jjalay @HairFunk @Gatsby @hrh93 I’ve had a phone consultation with Dr Miln and he said he doesn’t think it will be beneficial for me to see a Trichologist, only because there has been no pulling or hair loss for 20+ years, he asked me loads of questions, more importantly what I wanted to achieve from this and thinks the FUT procedure will be the best for me. He also mentioned Dr Ball and Dr Mani in our conversation and spoke really highly of them. I have a really good feeling with this doctor and I did say to him I’m willing to travel to his surgery in wales to have the HT as he’s just opened it. I still have to book a face to face consultation with Dr Mani and will make my decision 🤞🏼

THANK GOD I DIDN'T GO TO TURKEY LOL 😂

What makes you think the email is generic? I’d love to see the rest of what they said. It’s obviously a cropped email 😂 still my advice remains to Lodnon girl. Go and see a Trichologist first and get properly diagnosed 👍

@HairFunkSorry for posting this late, please see the first part of the email. I did reach out to Eva Proudman but she wants £310 for a London appointment 😖 if I’m being honest it’s been a very long time if the hair was gonna grow back it would of by now. When I went to see a hair specialist in Jan she did say there were no hair follicles in the traction area when using her scalp microscope but the rest of my head looked fine. I have my hopes for Dr Miln and Dr Mani 🤞🏼

If you have traction alopecia and no other skin issues this is not a no go for a hairtransplant. I think you should consult with the other doctors and then make an informed decision. Again there are cases with hairtransplant after traction alopecia where the result turned up really nice.

I just had a consultation with with Russ who works with Dr Mani, he was so nice, I just need to book a face to face consultation which costs £150 or a zoom which costs £75, I opted for the face to face so hopefully that will be soon ☺️

Do you know which Alopecia you have though? Important to get it diagnosed first to make sure it is traction. Is there anymore to that email above? I’d go visit a tricho expert first if I was you…

It’s definitely traction as I have never had any other hair loss

In europe you can look at hattingen hair in switzerland for fut, bisanga and lupanzula in belgium, raphael de freitas and couto in spain, bruno pinto in portugal. These are all great options. If i were in you a would prompt for fut though, this is the way to go for a hairtransplant by women.

Thank u for all the suggestions I will look into these all…. A few people have suggested to use a doctor who has experience in female HT but it’s quite hard as many females done want to be documented on. The only doctor I’ve seen with some female pictures is DR Ball and his are brilliant 🤩

id rather a FUT as I don’t want half my head shaved off. Most in turkey only offer FUE when I was enquiring and Dr Kumari was only offering FUE

I"ve never heard of the other two doctors you are mentioning and if you cant find any independent reviews about their work its better to avoid them, truspilot or realself reviews are in many cases fake ant not trustworthy. Another doctor you should have a consultation with in the uk is doctor raghu reddy. After having consultation with these doctor ask them to show you results of their work and you can proceed witht the doctor you feel confident with. On the other hand if you are still not sure you have other great options in europe too.

Thank u…. Dr Reddy is way too expensive for me 🙈 for my traction alopecia I will need about 2000-2500 grafts so I’ve been told.

Do you have any suggestions for Europe? India is out of the question as I have two young children and can’t travel that far

Hey…. I took your advice and reached out to Dr Ball, Dr Mani and another Dr that was recommended on this forum Dr Miln. I’m still waiting to hear back from Dr Ball, Dr Mani I have a consultation with him on Monday and a video call with Dr Miln too.

I've had a consultation with Dr Jyotsna Kumari at the Liverpool Hair Transplant Clinic, she sent me some pictures of female patients she has worked on, has anyone heard of her? Her Trust Pilot reviews are all good but her google reviews are hit and miss.

I've also reached out to Eva Proudman.

  9. @jjalay @Berba11 does the dr have to be an expert in the temple area? I’ve looked on here and Yaman has quite a few good reviews on here. Dr Tayfun not so much so he’s out of my options now.

im not looking for my hair line to be altered/lowered, I just for the bald patches to be filled in, can you rec anyone else turkey as UK is way out of my budget?

    thanks

  10. I recently put up a post about my traction alopecia. I am looking to go to turkey and narrowed down to two doctors, Dr Rasul Yaman and Dr Tayfun Oguzolglu.

Dr Yaman can perform FUE with my donor area shaved for £3250

Dr Tayfun can perform long hair FUE without shaving (I prefer this) for £5500

does anyone have feedback on both these doctors please?

Yea I understand there would be a price difference. That said, Turkey remains a risk. The majority of the clinics in Turkey are not using microscopes, meaning we often see hairlines populated with double and multigraft hairs instead of sofer single graft hairs.

Female hairlines tend to be even softer in appearance (men can often get away with a little bit of plugginess), so it's extra important that the hairline work is carried out to a high standard. Among the best female work I've seen is @Ilonaa's surgery at Eugenix in India. You might find this to be more cost effective than the UK and comparable to Turkey (but with better, higher quality surgical outcomes).

I would say it's worth getting in-person consultations with Dr Ball, and also with Dr Mani (London) seeing as they're on your doorstep. At the very least they should be able to give you a proper assessment, tell you what's possible and how many grafts you'd need. You may even find that the total cost isn't as high as you imagine, but at the very least you'll have had a couple of excellent surgeons give you an expert opinion and you can go from there. I'd certainly not focus on Turkey for now. There are a small number of good clinics, but it is a minefield and a bad HT will be 1000x worse than what you're going through now.

@Berba11 thanks for all the above info, I have contacted Dr Ball, Dr Mani and a couple of other Drs recommended on here and will see how that goes.

if you were to recommend anyone from turkey, would u have any suggestions just so I have other options?

The benefit of FUT is also, apart from not shaving your head as you would for FUE, that the density of your hair will remain the same. With the exception of a scar left in the donor area, the remaining hair will remain as full as it was prior to surgery. All the best.

I’ve just had someone call me form Dr ***** and basically said I would would have to have an undercut, which I am not willing to do lol I heard that the FUT method is quite outdated, is this preferred over FUE as some people don’t want to shave?

    thanks for replying

Can you share some photos of your areas of concern? Some of the very best female HT work that I've seen is actually by Dr Ball in the UK (Portsmouth).

I would very much avoid most of the clinics on that list.

I have added some pictures below. I might request a consultation with them but really can’t afford a HT for £12k

Most females choose FUT because they do not want to shave entire head to do the surgery which they always do in Turkey. Definitely go to clinic that performed many surgeries on females that have traction alopecia. the hairline is critical and your case is hairline and probably temporal area.

That’s correct it’s mostly on the temple area. It’s quite hard to find a clinic the perform on females as most don’t want to be on social media.

  15. Hi, I am looking to go to turkey for a HT as I suffer from traction alopecia (20+ years). I have gone to my GP in London and hair specialists and have all confirmed its traction alopecia. Can anyone recommend a good clinic that’s specialises in this type of hair loss? My budget is £3.5-£4k. Also as I am quite concerned with how much they will take from my donor area, will it be better to go with FUT surgery? As I don’t want a large area of my head shaven. The clinics I have looked in to are, in no particular order are:

    Dr Cinik

    Dr Rasul Yaman

    Smile Hair Clinic

    Sule Hair Clinic

    Cosmedica

    FUECAPILAR
