  1. Hairman, I am sure you will be thrilled to see that new hairline sprout in a few months, good luck! Since most of us are balder than you, we know how ballsy it was for you to go through with it. Are you using meds?
  2. Another hairloss rememdy vulture, note how if you are pissed off enough to send it back, you get a full refund LESS "Shipping and Handling" charges. Good luck on that small portion of a refund boys!
  3. Lance, check the hair loss drugs portion of the site, many of the threads in that section deal with your questions.
  4. Hello Devilito, I am sorry for your problem at such a young age. You are lucky in one way in that being so young, with new developments, like hair cloning for example which may become reality down the road. You will have a much better chance than what us middle-aged guys went through to restore our hair. Here is what I think you should do. 1) DO NOT EVEN consider a HT at this point!!! At 23, you are too young and your extensive loss it is likely to get worse with time. Being realistic, you may be headed for Norwood scale 6-7. I know that is not what you want to hear but it is likely your fate. 2) Get on the big three drugs ASAP to save what you have and maybe regain some loss, propecia, minoxidil and nizoral shampoo. Of these I believe propecia is your best one. 3) Stay informed, save your money on anything other than the big three drugs suggested. New developments are probably coming in a few years. If hair cloning or hair multiplicaton pans out, it would allow a large enough supply of donor hair to be used to complete a transplant needed for the NW 6-7 cases. 4) Send your photo in for a free online consultation with a coalition Doctor on this site. I may be wrong but I think they would not consider you a candidate for a HT at this point. 5) See your dermatoligist to make sure your hairloss is MPB and not from a skin problem or stress or something. Good Luck and do your research.
  5. Mark, forget the balding women and hire a few strippers - they could give "scalp dances"!
  6. Mark, what about a free sunglasses for all attendees, the glare o'meter would be off the charts!
  7. "Last minute surgery" that sounds inviting and very professional !
  8. Good idea, you would have to keep out the hairloss remedy vultures who would see us as easy prey! It would be good for the HT doctors to come to us versus us seeking them out.
  9. Mark, I did not know you were only 25? Did you get a HT (Head Transplant) also? Just kidding my friend, I love your humor, you sound like Al Franken on Saturday Night Live, the skit where he looks in the mirror and reassures himself how nice he looks! If you are in the business world you all know how big first impressions are, therfore I think it is important to look your best. Once you get past the looks part and have a foot in the door, your client/customer will start to see your insides. Unfortunatly for many, they do not get past the first impression. When you first met your wife was it a physical atraction first or did you fall in love from the inside-out? There has to be a physical attraction involved otherwise the cavemen would have spent all his time eating and sleeping! Once past the physical you enter courtship to find out if she is a B____ or a treasure. Its just human nature, not much we can do about it.
  10. Bill, well done my friend. I wonder if most of us here on the board already had some insecurities, shyness or introverted personalities and then when the big bald reaper came to see us, it just magnifyed the inherent personality problem. I believe that may be the case for most of us, at least it is for me. That is why forum support is so important, knowing we are not alone with this problem. (Misery loves company LOL!) I guess when we have a bald president or a more bald TV newscasters, our society will have changed.
  11. Mrjb, I posted that Van Gundy had them removed, he is completely bald except his wreath and the scars are not visible from where the plugs were. I saw him on TV doing NBA color commentary for one of the networks. Maybe the TV executives told him those plugs had no future in TV ! Maybe he should follow in Marv Alberts footsteps and get a toup, he just does not look good bald.
  12. I am horny all the time anyway so I can afford a loss in interest. No side effects with erection and size knock on (wood) .
  13. I agree with Bill, without knowing this fellows age it is tough know if this was a good use of 700 grafts. Today maybe, 15 years down the road who knows. If he is in his 20s then the Dr. should have turned him away. I do not question this fellow thinking he needed work. We all have different perceptions of ourselves when we look in the mirror.
  14. Jon Jon, I think some guys use Saw Palmetto which you can find at GNC stores. It is a natural DHT blocker. I have not used it and do not know of any side effects. Propecia is working well for me so far but I have only been on it a few weeks and it will take months to really know if it has any effect or stops the progression. Your hair is not worth the risk of a deadly cancer. Stay alive and bald if you have to!
  15. JW, Great post and we all have felt your pain. I, like you have a head that would not look right without hair and looks good with hair. I think their are very few guys who actually look good bald. I am glad you had such good success with propecia. That is a big key to any HT success -controlling the crown. Your HT will look great in the front and if the crown keeps improving, your in hair heaven!! Good luck!
  16. Dude, you are going to have to comb it with a rake when all that comes in! Congrats - I am going for my third in January. I am working on the scalp exercises to increase laxity, I would not have known about that without guys like you all on this forum, Good luck with the new hair and I am sure your scar will not be bad up that high, your sides look strong and probably won't drop.
  17. What about Chris Kaman, the big white dude who plays for the Clippers I think? He probably has not had a HT but that guy needs some work soon!
  18. Sweet Cheeks, I do not have a lot of hair in the crown right now so the spray gets to my scalp easy. I am not patient enough with the dropper (I would need a spatula not a dropper )and want a quick way to take care of it. I spray it in after a hot shower so the scalp pores are open for better absorption. If you have hair to go thru to get to your scalp I would say you are lucky and get on propecia to save what you have. Good Luck!
  19. Mark, check with the doc first but you are probably good to go do most anything except sticking your head in a oven! Your grafts are set and will not come out at this point. I would just not use any product which could cause a burn to your scalp. Congrats on losing the cap, I am looking forward to that day soon.
  20. Fullhead, Just saw you other pics. Your scar looks good after two weeks, will continue to get better over time. Good luck!
  21. Fullhead, welcome and good luck with the new hair growth. Be patient, it will grow in time. I am going in for my third in January. I had my second HT in DC by Dr Halford who is out of the area or I may have gone back to him for a third. I am going to Baltimore for my next surgery with Dr. Vogel. How is your strip scar doing? Is it visible with the length of your hair. Us pasty white guys and strip scars do not go well together! How was Dr Conti and is he out of VA Beach?
  22. How is your donor area healing and how much do you have left for additional work?
  23. I agree, Propecia your best choice to stop your potential hairloss since you see it in your family history. Save your money right now with the Rogaine, it helps stimulate new growth but you are not really balding yet. Do your research, there are alot of intelligent people on this site. Also, you are lucky that you are young enough and hopefully in a few years a cure will be there via Hair cloning or multiplication.
  24. Mark, Good luck with your grow in, be patient it takes a while but it will come, then you will start wanting more!! Are you planning a second session or just wait and see? I am planning my third but I consider this my second real one, I do not count the plugs I had put in the 1980s as a surgery that was more like butchery!!!
