I think most of the gains are still from meds. I switched finaseride brands right before my surgery and definitely noticed big gains on the vertex with the new fin. I've actually stopped min for the past couple months now, but will be re-starting a lower dose of oral min next month.
I also did get 100 or so grafts to the mid-scalp, so that helped fill in a bit there.
What brand did you switch to? Propecia?

If you never bled you didn’t lose any grafts, it seems the surgery was executed poorly.

Like even on face where the minoxidil isn’t Applied?
Yes because of systemic absorption minoxidil is known to age the skin prematurely

Your overthinking it, this looks natural

This has got to be the best result of 2023 you’ve come a long way considering where you started from

Yeah that makes sense, I’m surprised Xyon hasn’t released the dutasteride minoxidil combo yet but they did with Finasteride first.
I feel like I could get better results with a combo than just the DUT alone -

I am doing minoxidil in afternoon or morning and xyon dutasteride at night I buy them separately
Why don’t you just apply the minoxidil and Xyon DUT at the same time?

No, dutasteride is working fantastic for me. I think fin goes systemic more because of the smaller molecular weight.
But if topical dutasteride combo with Minoxidil came out would you use it?
How do you apply the gel to your scalp? Do you massage it in until the gel disappears or do you leave bits of it on the scalp
-
Melvin do you plan on switching to Xyon topical Finasteride+Minoxidil combo? Or are you staying on the topical dutasteride.

@Melvin- Admin Hey Melvin, have you gotten any feedback from Dr Hasson or Xyon's staff regarding the effectiveness of their Topical Finasteride vrs Top Dutasteride? Someone at Dr Hasson's office told me that they have seen better results with the Top Dutasteride, but I want to double check.
It'd be great if you could do a follow up interview with Dr Hasson or Xyon focusing more on Top Dutasteride
Dutasteride is more effective than fin so im sure their top Dut is better than the top fin, it’s also more expensive.

Why are you a NW 7 if you have low dht?

is it possible for you to please help me understand how I would be able to tell if an image was posted and then removed? I don't know anyone here. I'm trying to do what I explained and I'm being attacked. I've been ambivalent and subjective.
No offense but you come off as really suspicious like your trying to defend this clinic that has been permanently disfiguring people your giving off really weird vibes

You mean after a hairtransplant? And how many days after a hairtransplant have you started using these shampoos? This is something really hard to tell, most doctors reccomend to use a baby shampoo with mild ph for the first time after a hairtransplant. If you didnt do that and your ht result was not that good, you can speculate that maybe this was one of the reasons for it but this is an extreme scenario.
Yes immediately after a hair transplant, after using the doctor recommended shampoo for first 2 weeks after hair transplant and then using shampoo with harsh ingredients.
My doctor didn’t recommend a baby shampoo and I didn’t use one either, I just went back to my normal shampoo so how can I tell if my grafts were damaged?
-
How can you tell if you damaged your grafts from harsh chemicals found in some shampoos?

How soon after? You don’t wanna use harsh chemicals on grafts for the first few days.
I was using the medicated shampoo my clinic provided me for the first few weeks until the medicated shampoo finished and then I started using Purador anti thinning shampoo which contains tea tree oil as an ingredient.

A week or two after

It’ll make a big difference. I notice my hair takes a hit after a week of non-compliance. When im compliant every day, I see a difference.
Melvin is there any evidence using a shampoo with tea tree oil after HT is harmful to grafts?

I'm on the topical fin. One bottle lasts 3 months at one pump per day. I can't get anywhere close to covering my entire scalp with one pump. Three pumps would be more like it, however, then I would be tripling the cost and potentially tripling the the amount of the drug that goes systemic. So, if you're using three pumps per day you would go through a bottle per month??? No sides using 3 pumps?
I haven’t had any sides with 3 pumps, it’s hard to get side effects from Xyon because of the slow delivery system.
Yes I’ve had to pay more per bottle it’s a trade off, either go bald or have hair.
This topical dutasteride is supposed to be one of the best treatments on the market for hair loss and I’ve put my trust into Dr. Hasson

From what I hear, tea tree oil can be caustic on grafts. If you've had a HT, I would proceed with caution.
Where have you heard this from?

A user here claims tea tree oil can harm hair grafts, is there any truth to this?
I’ve searched everywhere on the forum and internet, nowhere does it mention shampoos that contain tea tree oil are harmful after a hair transplant in fact tea tree oil use is promoted for faster healing after a HT.
How common is hyper responding to fin/dut?

Meds alone won’t regrow what you’ve lost if MPB has affected your scalp for several years.
Only a hair transplant can give you the best cosmetic improvement and meds will help retain it.
