How many months after a hair transplant is it safe to cut the recipient area at the barber? Or is it recommended to just wait and grow it out until 12 months?

Bs. Minoxidil is the best drug to improve thickness.
True but it’s a pain in the ass to apply especially if you’re using topical meds.

I would stop until you know the sex. You can resume if the baby is a girl. Dut is only harmful for male fetuses. If its a boy. Stop until the baby is born. You’re gonna take a hit. Theres no way around it. But hopefully you bounce back once you get back on.
Do you know how long off the drug your hair starts to take a hit?

Save yourself the trouble and don’t go to any of the clinics on that list, especially Hair of Istanbul unless you want a straight line for a hairline.

Honestly your hair isn’t bad for your age, you have a good forelock it’s just the corners have some slight recession. Get on Finasteride or Dutasteride and find yourself a high quality surgeon and you’ll be good to go.
You probably don’t even need to use minoxidil to be honest. -

Remember some hair will be naturally resting or coming into the anagen phase so will look thinner. Your front even from the side view, the colour has lightened and the strands more fly away so are showing signs of miniaturisation and 22 is young so ideally get on meds. The hair length and curl will hide issues in the donor but it is fine to have hair in the donor thinner as it cycles also. Please wait at least to 25/26 before you even consider any surgery.
Yes, agreed that’s a very classic sign of frontal receding.

You should stop taking dutasteride if you’re trying to conceive. In case she does get pregnant. You don’t want her to come in contact with it.
For how long? Isn’t it detrimental to hair if you stop using dutasteride

My hairline was already good, so hard to judge. It looks good, but I can’t say there is a visual difference.
If I want to get a girl pregnant can I safely do that while using topical dutasteride or do you recommend I get off the drug completely?

Can I get a girl pregnant while on topical dutasteride without birth defects or should I be off the drug completely?

you could consume all the alcohol and drugs in the world right now, and it will have no effect on the HT.
I do not advise this at all, but there is no correlation.
The correlation between alcohol/drugs and hairloss is an overhyped old wives tale. If drugs/alcohol were truly bad for your hair, every down-on-their-luck person living in the street would be bald. This is NOT the case.
There are lots of alcoholics and drug addicts out there that don’t even have MPB lol

H&W are much better than Bloxham don’t waste your time with Bloxham and just focus on going to Vancouver instead.
All their work is great on any type of balding regardless if your a NW3 or 7 -
Agreed with the top post, shaving your head is going to make your image worse and give you a “bald look” you should grow out your hair and style it accordingly to make your head as full of hair as possible.
You can play around with styles to cover up any receding areas however shaving your head means you are submitting to baldness.
At only 20 I’m sure you still have a great amount of hair so don’t shave it off. You’re not going to be attracting anyone with a shaved head. -

There is a cosmetic improvement, have you been applying it to your hairline as well? Have you noticed any growth on the front or just the crown?

I would pick the brand name but it’s very sketchy buying these types of medication online….I always prefer going to an actual pharmacy in person.

Medications can restore density. Sure he won’t get the density he had at 15 but nobody has, even people without aga.
medications usually are not able to restore the hairline.
I can’t see how is hairline is, because there are not pic but my 2 cent tip is working on that area and let the medications work their trick.
Is there any scientific reason why hair loss medication is not good at restoring hairline but it restores the crown/vertex area?
-
You really should consider getting a hair transplant, you’ve done well with your medication routine but meds alone will never restore your former density before MPB kicked in.
-
I don’t see the problem your result looks decent and there’s definitely a cosmetic improvement compared to pre-op (entire front was nearly receded).
-
If your getting a transplant in North America, Hasson and Konior are the best options.
-
Is HLC still in the recommended list? There have been way too many cases with lots of multis in the hairline and low density even though they use many grafts.

3x week, leave it for at least 8 minutes, make sure it reaches the roots. Don't expect miracles, though
Even that is pretty useless

I found a pic of my right temple (my most affected area) that I sent Dr Hasson's office back in July 2023. There has definitely been significant regrowth. I have a bunch of new hairs like half an inch long that were not there in the pic from July. My hair is like 3 to 4 inches long on the top and still have a lot of hair, so the regrowth still not making a cosmetically significant difference, but I hope that in 4+ months those hairs will be the same length as rest.
After 8 months (started in May 2023) of using Xyon Dutasteride daily, I'm finally starting to see progress!
I rather not post my pics because prefer to stay private.
That’s good to hear, the topical definitely works it just takes time and patience.
Have you been using it everyday?

Honestly nobody in their 20s should get a hair transplant until you are at least 29 close to turning 30.
Balding in your 20s is at its most aggressive state and you will for sure keep losing ground even on meds.
