  1. I know, he's so lucky. I just got a #0.5 (2.4mm) fade 11 days after surgery and it's brilliantly visible 😅. I uploaded a photo of it to my story.
  2. Looks super clean. Nearly the same amount of grafts as I just got but in half the real-estate. This will be a fantastic result — I'm jealous!
  3. You're overthinking it! Just relax and be ready for a long, boring day.
  4. 11 days post-op. Got a buzz cut with doc’s permission. Lots of dry/dead skin and the redness is obviously still quite apparent. Another thing of interest is the difference between the temple work. I had 2 separate techs with varying levels of experience placing the grafts in the sites that the doctor made. It seems to be laying differently on each side. Also, one side seems to have taken a lot better (especially apparent in the peaks).
  5. I greatly appreciate the peace of mind. Also — yeah, he does seem to be more hairline focused. I’m on oral min and about to start topical fin (my hair has been stable for years). The doc said my donor area was just OK.
  6. Totally fair. I think seeing top-tier results from clinics like FUEXPERT have definitely jaded my expectations. Additionally, a bunch of people over on Reddit said that the amount of grafts for the area covered was quite low.
  7. “Lockdown fade” 😅. I have a few if my buddies fades when was drunk during lockdown. Wild times.
  8. 9 days. Scabs nearly all off. If this is any indication of what is to come in a year I’m not sure that I got the density I was hoping for. Quite a few blank patches. Still rad to see hair where there previously wasn’t any.
  9. I gently started massaging the scabs on day 6 since they were so damn itchy. I was very gentle, many came off super easily, and there was no blood but I was supposed to wait until day 8 to begin that process, haha. Everything that I’ve read says you’re good unless you get blood so hopefully I didn’t ruin anything.
  10. I definitely found ways to turn onto my side with the pillow. I literally woke up with the pillow rotated 180° around my neck from when I went to sleep a few times.
  11. I’m a big fan of the thorough vetting process and high standards for initiation here. I would imagine 10+ successful procedures documented in the forum would suffice in making a compelling case. The work looks great. It does make me wonder how many fantastic surgeons there are out there whose work hasn’t made it into the forum? 🤔
  12. I definitely rolled onto my side the first night and I’m wondering if I ruined the temple work or not. Time will tell! I plan on trying to sleep on my back until day 10 post-op. A travel neck pillow is helpful!
  13. Haha, never. It’s not just the pillow, though. Hats, towels, hoodies, etc.
  14. Pharmacist: Had to look this up as she had never heard of it before. Vet: Said to be cautious. The dog sleeps in my bed so my concern is that the minoxidil might transfer from my head to pillow and she might lick it. The vet said just to put the pillow out of reach during the day. I’m trying to figure out an application approach that will mitigate it as much as possible so I’m hoping to hear what others do.
  15. This is such a stellar result for so few grafts. Fingers crossed that I get a result anywhere near this. Congrats!
  16. Interesting, my doc's guidelines were to discontinue using it for 10 days before and 10 days after the procedure (so just a difference of a few days). His rules, in general, seem a bit more relaxed than what I've seen elsewhere: Begin removing scabs day 8 OK to exercise after 10 days OK to shave recipient area after 10 days Definitely starting to feel like I maybe didn't make the best choice but I'm on the other side of the procedure now so there's not point in stressing. I'll give him a call tomorrow and update. If I don't like what he says, I will go to my GP and discuss oral Finasteride. My hair loss has been stable for years but I want to take every precaution now that I've had an FUE procedure.
  17. Great question @Melvin- Moderator. I actually haven't started the topical foam yet (I am 6 days post transplant and must wait 10). I'm honestly not entirely sure why he has me on both modalities but I do know that the Minoxidil foam is the vehicle for the Finasteride compound — so that's why it is in there. I did clarify that my doc wanted me on both but I'll call tomorrow and get some more info on this. I'm not a huge fan of topicals, in general, but he seemed pretty opposed to prescribing oral Finasteride. I honestly may go to my GP and discuss Finasteride 1mg, 3 times a week.
  18. I think your hair looks great, dude. I also think that you sport the buzzcut really well. Crazy how you can't really tell density with a buzzcut.
  19. Hello all, I am at the very beginning of addressing my hair loss and have been prescribed the following: (daily) 1 x Minoxidil 2.5mg oral tablet 1 x Minoxidil 5%/Finasteride 1%/Retinoic Acid 0.025% topical foam I've read online that Minoxidil is extremely toxic to dogs and am concerned as my 85lb GSD sleeps in bed with me. I'm wondering what some of you have done to mitigate the chances of exposure?
  20. 1 week: I slowly started gently massaging the scabs off yesterday. There were definitely hairs in there but this is to be expected. I’m hoping the redness fades in the next 2 weeks. It’s pretty wild to see it from this angle and in this lighting:
  21. Day 5: The itching has subsided dramatically though I have also been taking Benadryl. Top: Donor: Here’s one that I took in my home gym with lighting that shows just how crispy it is:
  22. 72hrs post-op: The itching is easily the worst part of the process so far. The donor is looking good and the swelling is slowly moving down my face.
  23. Haha, I am the exact person you are targeting in this video. This was super helpful — thank you. I really hope that I do not suffer from pitting and can still rock a shorter hairstyle (buzzcut). Time shall tell. The doc still did cover a ton of surface area with that graft count.
  24. Thanks @Melvin- Moderator. Hoping for the best — a few people on Reddit have me spiraling 😅.
