  1. England, why oh why do you do this to us. Started OK, Gerrard playing well scored a quality goal, Rooney kept his temper even though 2 USA players were onto him every time he got the ball. All going swimmingly then up popped Robert bloody Green. Can't even collect a ball rolling along the ground, and the bloke probably gets paid ?50K a week for doing that. Unbelievable:mad: and USAlless!
  2. Hiya mate. I did not go ahead with a HT from Dr Shalmalak, I took the advice that was offered here and decided to indulge in some more research and take my time. I think I have an appointment for a consultation with one of the Farjo's back end of June (this month), but I've lost the email from Mick of Farjo, note to self contact Mick. To be fair to Dr Shalmalak and I think I've mentioned this elsewhere on the forum before, when I had my consultation with him, he and the lady who was guiding me through my consultation with him, were very professional and not pushy. Dr Shalmalak was honest with me about my expectations and what results I could expect given my degree of hairloss (NW5/6) with no unrealistic promises. I found him fine and I think he is at the forefront of eye lash transplants in the UK for which he is well known. I simply decided to take my time and see more than one HT doc, I also had email contact with a couple of chaps who had HT's from him. In the meantime I began using Nizoral shampoo in Jan of this year and then started using Rogaine 5% foam on May 12, but don't intend using propecia simply because I'm not one for ingesting chemicals into my body, just a personal OCD thing. I will continue to take my time whilst watching the World Cup, 70 plus football games in a month, heaven, COME ON ENGLAND!!!
  3. I'm a late 40's Norwood 5/6, started using Nizoral 2/3 times week several weeks ago. Began Rogaine 5% foam May 12th, don't intend taking propecia or similar tablet, don't like taking drugs of any kind. So it's 2 of the big 3 for me as a possible pre-amble to an initial HT if appropriate
  4. Very good and quite subtle results, I wouldn't of imagine many people would have been shocked by the subtle change in appearance. That chap must be well pleased
  5. As I've mentioned before as part of my ongoing resarch I had an appointment with Dr Shahmalak and I found him to be professional and not pushy, he was quite matter of fact about things and discussed having realistic expectations, so no complaint from me. If you google his name you will see he is leading the field of eye lash transplants in the UK. I continue my research though may eventually go back to Shahmalak, who knows, the advice I was given on this forum to take time and research was very wise. I have spoken via email to Campbell and to both him and Ryan I would please ask you to post pictures pre/post op for others to judge. Also on the patient blog thingy, there is a person called Boldheadd who has posted results of his procedure with Dr Shahmalak, he states he isn't happy but results look OK to me. One important reason we should all research and see vaious clinics is to get an idea of prices being charged, I for example am looking for an initial 2000 to 3000 grafts and am interested to know what various clinics charge. For me this is where I am wary, as there seems to be no set standard charge in the UK anyway.
  6. Thanks Pavlov - enjoyed our conversation this morning. Thanks for your honesty.
  7. sufs2000 how is your new hair coning on, I ask because I am considering using Shalmalak
  8. Hi pavlov, I'm considering a 2000 graft procedure with Dr Shahmalak, how did it go and what are your results like now, are you hapy, do you have any pic, I really would appreciate some feedback, thanks. I looked for you on the patient weblog but could't find you (pavlov)
  9. Thanks for that Bill and ej. I note in the patient testimonials of this site a chap called boldheadd has pics of his HT with Dr Shahmalak, he doesn't seem too happy but the pics look OK to me. I feel it's only fair to point out that I have had corespondence with Mick at Farjo and to be fair he put me straight about expectations, scaring and one or two other things, definately no hard sell. I am going to decide in next couple of days whether to pursue with Dr Shahmalak or not and I am not the most computer literate but I will be more than happy to post before, during and after pics here, if I am able. Be they for better or for worse.
  10. Thanks for that ej, I found the thread pertaining to Dr Shahmalak further down. I really am getting confused. How does a HT surgeon become recommended by this forum? If for example I had a great HT off Dr Joe Bloggs and posted pics here would that suffice? If you google Shahmalak he seems quite high profile, though more for his pioneering work in the eyelash dept. I have aslo had email contact with Mick at Farjo. All I want is a decent, subtle HT but I don't know what to believe anymore, are those who sing the praises of certain HT clinics merely part of their sales team? And just because a HT surgeon isn't known about or recognised on here does that mean they are rubbish. Please somebody help
  11. Hi - I'm new to all this HT research - but have been browsing this and other forums for some time - I am a Norwood 6 - and recently had an appointment with Dr Shahmalak at Transform Manchester with a view to an initial 2000 grafts. He seemed OK and seems to be highly regarded and in the media has been reported as being the first UK surgeon to pioneer eye lash transplants. Before I committ to a HT with Dr Shahmalak does anyone have any experiences they can share with me. Thanks Chaps
