  1. I’m debating whether or not I should go to Turkey to get a transplant or get one near me, in the US, as there is a good surgeon (Dr. Gabel in Oregon) near me. Money isn’t necessarily an issue at the moment, but saving about $8,000 is always appreciated. However, I’m mainly just worried about if it’s worth going to turkey overall. I do want a good job done but if I can get the same result in Turkey for much less, it seems like a good idea. However, I’m worried about the heat in turkey after a transplant and it being out of country etc. But if anyone has experiences or has a thought let me know! I’m not against going to Turkey but just wondering if getting it done here by Dr. Gabel would be a better idea. As I recall, Gabel quoted me at about $9000 for 1600 grafts.
  2. i ended up avoiding dutasteride completely. decided it wasn’t worth the potential shed along with other health concerns, instead i am taking a low dose of oral minoxidil for extra gains ig. it makes me feel like im doing more anyways
  3. thanks for your in-depth response! yeah that makes sense, it just seems like if i were to get a haircut anyways, id want these back hairs faded out so if i could get a usage of them id love to but perhaps down the road if they stay their for awhile and don’t thin out i can just add them to the front for some extra density after my first transplant, if a doctor agrees
  4. i see, so maybe add a couple hundred or so grafts of these ones to make the hairline look better
  5. would a surgeon let me like take all these ones and maybe even out my back some? or is it even practical, as these hairs may be less healthy? maybe mix them in with stronger hairs?
  6. interesting, thank you. i will take this as an incentive to not increase my dosage anymore. i do plan on continuing this routine however, simply because the oral minoxidil seems to have positive effects on my eyelash/eyebrow growth along with my beard and the topicals are just expensive hair stylers at this point with perhaps some added benefit. i really do appreciate this though and i will not increase any of my dosages. and perhaps down the road i will stop using the topicals
  7. you’re saying the amount of fin/min is too much? i don’t necessarily need this much?
  8. i forgot the mention this, yeah definitely you’re right but the topicals actually work as really good stylers for my hair and are just part of my hair styling routine. i heard about 1% of topical minoxidil is absorbed so if anything, im atleast getting about 4mg absorbed through that i think. but why 1mg of finasteride?
  9. my current routine is: 1.25mg finasteride daily 1.25mg oral minoxidil daily 5% minoxidil foam twice a day (on whole head, including donor but not the hairline) 15% minoxidil + 1% finasteride twice a day (only on hairline) long term, i’m just wanting to maintain what i have and regrow some of my hair. i kind of have been going through hair greed recently and wanted to do dutasteride, 2.5mg oral min daily etc but realized i’m already probably maxed out on minoxidil because of the topical (which some systemic absorption) along with the 1.25mg oral im taking and i don’t want to go up because of safety. along with just not wanting to switch to dutasteride because of sides anymore. overall, how is my routine and can i just continue w this without having to worry about it? i mainly just want to keep what i have with minimal loss for the next 4-5 years for when i get a transplant
  10. thats good to hear, glad everything went smooth for you
  11. i’ve been wanting to hop on dutasteride but the only thing i’m worried about is people saying it caused them to lose a lot of hair along their hairline how’s it been for you? any improvements? sides?
  12. definitely. you’re set for life for good hair, especially considering your beard if you ever need grafts in the future. but your on a solid hair loss prevention protocol so it might not even be necessary. as for hair quality, i just mean the actual appearance of it, fill in those spots and it looks basically perfect in my opinion
  13. i’m hella excited for your results. your donor hair and quality in general is really good, and now that you’ve got a transplant to thicken up hairline and crown i can’t wait to see you grow your hair out luxuriously. it’s just a waiting game at this point
  14. yes i’ve heard of the hair getting worse before it gets better so that’s kind of my reassurance right now 😭 and i just looked at your results, congrats! the texture is much better aswell
  15. along with seeing all these little hairs shedding since starting finasteride, i also notice my hairline overall looks much more miniaturized. 5 months into finasteride i also dyed my hair with box dye (3 times within 3 weeks, it wouldn’t stay and i said f*ck it) so is there a potential that this caused it? but even before the dye, my hair had been shedding a lot more than on just minoxidil
  16. yes but nothing too severe. mainly just less sex drive, which i actually prefer, and slightly lower energy? maybe. and harder to maintain erections but i’m going to be trying viagra soon for when i need it so it should be all good
  17. this is fine, you may see better results. up to you if you think its worth the price and hassle
  18. id plan on using 1mm-1.5mm is this okay? i wouldn’t do it after a transplant though.
  19. is it possible that dermarolling could make it so you’re not able to get a transplant in the future? if so, under what circumstances would this happen?
  20. ive been on finasteride 1mg oral for about 6 months, if i add dutasteride 0.5mg once a week, whats the likelihood of experiencing a shed? also, what percentage (roughly) would this routine inhibit DHT? (fin 6x a week dut 1x a week) and should i do dut two times a week or just go with one time?
  21. this is what i’m saying exactly. like if you get a decent hairline, that is like say normal matured hairline i don’t see the problem because if im getting a transplant in the future, even if im norwood 5 then im going to want that hairline. and if my hair is stable for the next 10 or so years i can lower it a bit more if i really want to
  22. yes, i have decided to wait atleast until 20 and decide. my hair loss pattern is interesting though as after seeing photos, it started at 11 and has been the same since 13 no one else in my family has experienced this, most of my siblings id say experience it early 20s and it ends up slowly being a norwood 2-3 by mid 30s. but also i hve a brother with norwood 1 (or zero hair loss idk) at 35
