by the time i’m 20 ill have been on it for 2.5 years, what would you think about a transplant then, or even 21? but the majority of responses have been around age 25, but i’m hoping 23 at the latest. i’m just trying to gain as much information and knowledge as I can as to try to convince a reputable surgeon tbh. that may be a bad way of looking at it and maybe if my hair improves further on finasteride i’ll be more open to waiting, but i guess i’ll just wait and see for now. i just wanted to have my options open if possible

id say i’m a norwood 2.5-3 and could simply lowering it to a 1.5-2 be fine? or just getting a “matured hairline look” that will look normal for life yk?? because if they are worried about continuous loss, couldnt u just create a hairline that will be suitable forever? do yk what i mean? instead of getting a nw0 that will look horrid if the hair behind it thins, and you also preserve donor

I’m thinking of a surgeon that would do a good job, not just a hair mill. I know it’s unlikely but could you convince them to? i have the money on hand and plan on getting one in the united states. in all honesty, i’m okay with getting another transplant in the future or the pattern of loss to be potentially strange. im on minoxidil and finasteride and by the time im 19 (one year) i’ll have been on the products for long enough to see basically the best results. essentially, could you convince a hair transplant surgeon to do one at this age if you explain you understand the aspects and that you take full responsibility?

people that dermaroll - how is it?
zenmu replied to zenmu's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
that’s likely a good idea. you wouldn’t want to risk damaging the newly implanted hair -
people that dermaroll - how is it?
zenmu replied to zenmu's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
i see what you’re saying and i partially agree with it. i do however believe that some people experience amazing results with dermarolling and minoxidil but it may be more how they respond to minoxidil than the dermarolling. i think i’ll likely continue my routine and if i feel desperate while im waiting for a transplant i’ll include dermarolling just to keep in good spirit. i appreciate the response -

did you use the dermapen over your entire scalp and how long after did you apply minoxidil? thanks for sharing btw -
i’m thinking of getting into dermarolling and using derminator 2 on the hairline, people that dermaroll, what are your thoughts on it, results etc?

mixing dutasteride with finasteride questio
zenmu replied to zenmu's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
is there any harm in using both? just curious. and im not on oral minoxidil at the moment but ive considered it -
i’ve been on 1mg finasteride for about 5 months and i’d like to add 0.5mg dutasteride once or twice a week. i’ve been seeing results with finasteride but just want to get the max results and limit dht. is this a good idea? having it twice a week along with, will i experience a shed if i make the switch and how bad do you assume it will be? and anything else you think pertains to this

should i add oral minoxidil at some point?
zenmu replied to zenmu's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
yea i don’t know if the side effects are worth it either. i might just increase my finasteride dosage or use dutasteride if i decide i want more prevention or something. i’ll see how things go by the 2 year mark of finasteride but in my opinion, being only 18, i really want a transplant to make my hairline relatively straight but i do think its worse than it appears, if u turn your phone upside down when looking at the pic you’ll see. it’s also made worse because i don’t have good temporal points -
18 years old, pics of my hair is included. ive been on foam minoxidil for 1+ years and finasteride for 5 months, after giving finasteride 2 years to work should i add oral minoxidil? (i’d plan on using it under doctor supervision) i mainly just want my hair to be at the best quality it can be, and to ensure i don’t lose hair before my transplant but i know there’s a limit. does adding oral minoxidil have a decent potential for better results? i mainly just don’t want to lose hair while im waiting for a hair transplant, hopefully 23/24 if possible. i was told to wait until then by a surgeon to check in

been using minoxidil foam 1+ years and finasteride for 5 months. i’ve always shedded on minoxidil but it seemed like it was slowing down but now since finasteride its been consistent shedding. my hair quality still looks the same i think and no noticeable thinning or whatever but still strange. how long until the shedding slows or stops?

zenmu replied to zenmu's topic in Hair Loss Drugs
yea it was the first two ill send here again in case it didn’t show up. i mainly just wanted to show the hair quality change, i still have a receded hairline but it all thickened with minoxidil/fin and i’m starting to see new baby hairs 4 months into fin, but that’s not really what i was trying to show with this post -

will this hair dye cause further hair loss?
zenmu replied to zenmu's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
interesting, i decided to order it and use it at some point and i don’t think i have any other scalp conditions so i hope i’ll be fine. i honestly should have used henna though, or i still can. were your color results with henna good? i thought i heard somewhere it could make blonde hair orange ish -
Naturtint Permanent Hair Color 4N Natural Chestnut (Pack of 1), Ammonia Free, Vegan, Cruelty Free, up to 100% Gray Coverage, Long Lasting Results i want to dye my hair this color but if there is a somewhat high chance of it setting back my hair journey so far id prefer not to. ive been on minoxidil for about a year so that should be somewhat stable (except increased dosage, including on beard area) but with finasteride too, ive been shedding a lot here’s my hair, im currently on minoxidil 5% twice daily and finasteride 1mg

does this oral minoxidil look legit?
zenmu replied to zenmu's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
i don’t believe it would be counterfeit, as the website is pretty reputable and is used by a lot of people even within the tressless reddit community. and it just seems ineffective as minoxidil is so easy to make and distribute, i dont see why they would need to counterfeit it. i’m alright with generic, as long as it’s legit, i’m fine with that. im also using finasteride from their website and so far after a few months seems to be working fine, no side effects
