  1. You have to remember that the defining characteristic of a mature man's hairline is that the temporal recession is higher than the mid-frontal point. That's what's going on in this picture. This is normal and natural! It doesn't mean you "need" a transplant! You have thick hair...You aren't suffering from hair loss! This is how a man's hairline is supposed to look like. Unfortunately, modern cultural norms tell us that a "straight" hairline or a "drake" hairline is how a hairline is supposed to look. A straight hairline in a man doesn't exist in nature! Former US President Ronald Reagen and former football player Steven Gerrard are the only two "men" I know of who maintained a juvenile "straight" hairline naturally. This is incredibly rare and less than 2 percent of men maintain a child's hairline. Your doctor should have informed you and warned you about getting a transplant so early. Do not think about getting a hair transplant in your twenties!
  2. It is generally accepted that the vast majority of "clinics" in Turkey are Marketing companies rather than actual clinics. The vast majority of clinics in Turkey (not all) are hair mills and see you as a customer rather than a patient undergoing a surgical procedure. From the number of transplants they do per day, to the complete mismanagement of the donor area, I would disregard these marketing companies. Other than HLC Ankara, Dr Bicer and Dr Pekiner, I wouldn't even think about going to Turkey.
  3. A transplant should be the last option. You should approach it from a long-term perspective and look at it as a hair restoration program.
  4. You have to manage your expectations. That's a large area to cover! A legit clinic will tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear. Any cheap clinic (under 3k) telling you they can cover that area with 2500 grafts and make it look natural and dense is lying to you. I've only seen Dr Zarev cover such a high Norwood and make it look natural.
  5. The transplanted hair looks like it has been growing! But the native hair behind it either had shock loss or continued to naturally recede. In any case, it's too early to judge! Wait 12 months to see the final result. Which clinic did you go to?
  6. Just shave your head and make it easier for everyone involved in the surgery. No need to add extra complexity to the transplant. Plus, Every man needs to see his head fully shaven at least once in his life.
  7. Are antibiotics really necessary after a hair transplant?? I know they are issued by doctors after a hair transplant to avoid infection in the recipient area, but after doing research infection is incredibly rare after surgery anyway. So is it worth destroying the healthy gut bacteria in your stomach?
  8. Vera clinic bot account I think! Other than HLC, Pekiner, and Bicer, Turkish clinics aren't even worth thinking about!
  9. As you age your expectations for what is a "natural" hairline also change. You are only 20 years old and we don't know how your hair loss will progress yet(if it occurs). This "affecting your confidence" line at 20 years old with no true hair loss is a problem in and of itself. I don't mean to sound condescending but I don't think you know what "affecting your confidence" means when it comes to hair loss. True hair loss sufferers (Norwood 3+) will look at your pictures above and think you got a thick head of hair. Go to the gym and build some muscle and your confidence will grow. Trust me! Don't think about a hair transplant until you're around 32/33. By that age, the doctors should be able to see some type of pattern of hair loss and plan for the transplant with an intact donor area.
  10. How much is he charging you if you mind me asking? Price Quote?
  11. Ask yourself how important the hair transplant is to you. With the best Doctor in the industry? If I were you, I would make myself prepared for September!
  12. I read through the whole thread, sorry to hear about your experience with HLC. They shouldn't have taken you on to begin with because you were not a suitable candidate for a Hair transplant. You were already a repair case! They didn't manage your expectations properly and there was miscommunication from the beginning. HLC is a top clinic and if I go to Turkey it'll either be them or Pekiner. But my priority is Dr. Munib Ahmad or Dr. Bisanga! Thankfully, I have done three years of research before having a hair transplant.
  13. A reliable and professional Doctor would tell you to not get a hair transplant now! Remember a hair transplant should always be the last option! A hair transplant is a surgical procedure and shouldn't be treated like a product you buy off the shelf. An "M" or a "U" shaped hairline is the defining characteristic of a man's hairline. You're not a teenager! That's how a man's hairline develops. It doesn't necessarily mean you're suffering from androgenic alopecia. It's incredibly rare for a grown man to still have a juvenile hairline naturally without a hair transplant...The only celebrity I can think of is Steven Gerrard(former Liverpool player). Take your medicine and you should be okay!
  14. I've accepted it now no one is better than HLC in Turkey! Not Pekinner and not Bicer!
  15. Great result! But I consider this procedure as hairline lowering rather than an actual hair transplant surgery. You were just about Norwood 1(if that)! What many men don't understand is that a V or U shape hairline is the defining feature of a man's hairline! It doesn't necessarily mean that you are losing hair.
  16. Did they charge you for a consultation?
  17. All the best! He's the best in the business! From when you booked, how long did you wait until the consultation if you don't mind me asking?
  18. If you're putting so much thought and stress into this just shave it all off! Believe me, you'll feel so much better afterward.
  19. I was told by them two days ago through email that their next available appointment for consultation is June 2024! You can only imagine when the actual surgery will take place. If what you are saying is true about just flying to Madrid and arranging a consultation either for the same day or the next 1-2 days then it is a viable option. Where did you get that information from btw?
  20. The pluggy look on the hairline comes from putting hair follicles with 2+ hairs growing out of them on the first row of the hairline. Like the pictures above
  21. A hair follicle may have one hair growing out of it... It may have two...It also may have three or more. For a natural looking hairline you need the follicles with one hair growing out of them to be placed on the hairline. Otherwise it'll look unnatural like those pictures there. You can put the hair follicles with two or more behind that hairline. You need to find a doctor that takes pride in his work and prioritises these things to give you a "natural looking" result. There's no such thing as a "perfect" hair transplant because we're trying to mimic nature...Which is impossible! But you can try and get as close to it as possible. If you don't care about the details and you just want hair on your head then by all means go to these clinics that just take your money and have 0 professionalism.
