Because you don't know the extent of the hair loss.

If I had had a hair transplant at 20 to lower my hairline, I would have been in a disastrous situation. I wouldn't have enough donor supply left to cover my middle and crown. I would be left with an unnatural-looking patch of hair. Medication is not fail-proof. I have seen many say they will stick with meds, but the minute they experience side effects, they abandon meds. Also, medication doesn't cure or stop hair loss for everyone. There is no guarantee you won't continue to thin.

Furthermore, the expectations of a 20-year-old will be very high. They will want to get the hairline of a 20-year-old. While that is understandable, it isn't what is realistic. If you start balding in your late teens or early 20s, the chances of you becoming significantly bald are high. Getting a low and straight hairline can and most likely will prove to be a disaster you regret. I have seen so many men wish to return to look like an average balding person.

were you on consistent daily regiment of stabilizing medication between the two photos?

Hi all - what is a fair price for a top surgeon?

I am being quoted $12 a graft with Dr. Mohebi and wondering if that is fair.

Consult with Dr Nadimi from Chicago Hair Institute. She charges $10 per FUE graft. But also offer FUT in case you want to go that route. I like her results better and seems like it will be cheaper than Dr Mohebi.

Yes, I want to. I am doing in-person consultations, i met 3 surgeons already.

I recently had the consultation with well-known FUT/FUE surgeon and here are some photos from this consultation

So there is so called "disconnection" marked and i can say that this is top 1 priority for me to deal with. Basically, front is disconnected from the donor on each side.

The surgeon when was looking at my head was often repeating "i don't understand why they did this like that".

The surgeon has idea to extract some grafts from the hairline(he drew zig-zag line), because it is too linear and without micro-irregularities. This is the 2nd surgeon that wants to do something with this hairline. However, i am not sure if i want to do something with it right now.

The area that needs treatment is pretty huge. This surgeon proposed 1500-2000 grafts for the surgery. I don't think that it will  solve the issue

He said that FUT is not good option for me, because my donor is not virgin anymore and FUT would block possibility of shaving sides very short.

In my opinion, every restoration should be approached in a way that if for some reason patient never was able to have a follow up surgery it would still look Natural even if it is not a full head of hair. Since this is such an unnatural balding pattern it needs to be fixed ASAP. Can you rock a shaved look until then? I like your attitude. you are handling it well. Which clinic have you seen? Do you have a budget in mind allocated to fixing this?

  4. Your hair looks great.
look at the placement in the crown area. That is a lower density placement. What was your regiment in terms of medications? Did you start them right around the time or before the surgery. I feel a lot of your result (at least) in the crown area does not seem to solely be a by product of surgery, and to pass it off as it is, is being deceitful.

Or maybe most guys are simply cheapskate looking for a 2k-3k euro surgery.

you cant blame people. They are not experts. I would not know the difference between a $10 steak and a $200 piece of steak cause I am not a chef or food specialist. I just go for what i think is good value. unfortunately with hair transplant you are playing with an aspect of your facial feature which is a huge part of self identity. One mistake and you can end up with a lifetime of regret. Not to mention most repairs are hard to execute cause of the finite hair supply.

Hello, has anyone heard of Dr. Rejali? Removed(Instagram: removed
He is around my area, he does DHI and charges $3usd per Graft. I wonder if anyone has any information on him?

I am going to be traveling in the end of January to Monaco for work and figured that if I am already in that part of the world I might as well go for my HT at the same time. So I was thinking of maybe just going to Turkey. I contacted HLC-FUE but after reading some reviews here I might re-consider to Dr. Gur or Turan as they are the most mentioned here. I have a thinning crown and my hairline is continuing to recede. (Check my last thread for pictures). I am also open to other Drs but there is so much information here that is a bit overwhelming to decide.. Hoping you experts can help me out here please!

Thank you and happy new year :)

something about him did not look right to me. I did some researching. Dude does not have an active medical license in Arizona. Still practicing. What he is doing is "criminal". I would avoid this black market clinic.

Shouldn't that be happening on both sides? My left one feels puffier and is itchy almost every day, but I do not feel any mass when I touch

gynecomastia is often unilateral, or often one side worse than others. you wont feel any mass at the moment. It is a process (mass formation) that happens over months to years if left unchecked.

I am constantly having itchy left nipple after taking 1mg finasteride for 3 months. Should I keep using it or discontinue it? I am not able to contact my doctor since he doesn't have any appointments available soon and I have no real advice.

this sounds like the pre stage to formation of gynecomastia which is one of the side effects of finasteride. This is some what "urgent" and a message to your doctor so he can assess you sooner and advise is needed. There is always options to get to see a doctor for urgent needs on a medication THEY prescribed. It is THEIR responsibility to you.

personally i would cut it into half or drop it completely.

  9. We are all just playing arm chair quarterbacks here. No one was with you so we dont know. It would be very very rare for lidocaine toxicity to come at the start of surgery. Usually it happens more closer to the end. Unless someone made an error.  LIdocaine toxicity and injecting lidocaine into a blood vessel is not the same. The later happens frequently in small doses and clears up on its own.

There is a reason in USA and Europe a technician is not allowed to do anesthesia and only a physician can.

Having said that whether toxicity or allergic reaction, has to be determined by the physician on site. So all our opinions dont matter.

frontal hairline angles are something between 25 and 15°.
Lateral hairline angles should be 15-5°.
The directions of the hair should be like int he pic I attach.
From what I see, your surgeon didn't respect this rules so I suppose that just adding grafts can't help.

    hairline-angle-direction(1).jpg

It’s a flap not a hair transplant which is why the angles are the way they are.  These procedures were common back in the 80s and 90s. Outdated.
