Excellent so far
-
I really did not want this to become a public spat or exchange with Dr Mwamba or the clinic. Although I guess it's fair game seeing as I posted it here.
I have tried to stay very balanced in my appraisal of the work.
My main grief was in the follow up as I've stated many times. The top growth was poorer than I expected, but the rest was pretty good, particular my donor and temple growth.
If the follow up was handled better none of this would have been as big an issue as it has become. My main gripe is the rebate and also what I felt was far too expensive a follow up offer (considering the poor growth on top).
Yes I spoke to Dr Mwamba in person, but after I went away and compared to what other clinics quoted, it was way too much.

Thanks RTC, did you arrange the washes in advance with Dr Mwamba or on the day of surgery.
How would you rate the experience with him - I read your thread. Outside of the lack of communication were you satisfied or disappointed. Thanks
Washes arranged with Mwamba on the day, he said can you come at this time etc and we agreed on it.
Mwamba is a nice man but the surgeries take way too long. Other clinics don't stretch surgeries out till 1-2am, in my case, 6.30am in the morning.
I had mixed results with him.

Never heard him mention who did it but agreed, it's great. I'm sure he uses fibers etc though.
Andrew's on the other hand, is very poor.

Thanks mate , I seen you case with Mwamba and it’s made me rethink
If I could go back to the Mwamba surgery, I would have elected to first remove the wrongly-angled grafts, recycle them behind, then come back a few months later to use more from the donor and rebuild the hairline. It seems like the winning formula, as evidence by lots of Bisanga and Feriduni work.
-
My advice - don't try to do it all in one sitting.
Two is better, it might even take three. Sucks but trust me.

This literal scam. It is not about results anymore. This has to be addressed. Is this even legal ?
I am not sure, but for me, why promise something you have no intention of delivering on?
It was not a deciding factor in me getting surgery with them anyway, but it's infuriating. It would at least be a small contribution to the next stage of fixing my hairline.
I am sure if I was booking a new procedure, I would receive a reply. And whether I am on good terms with the clinic or not, business is business and there is absolutely no excuse for ghosting emails.

One more thing : results aside. If you lie to your customers and do not communicate with them during difficult times (growth phase, questions etc.) then I consider this inexcusable behavior. A radical change is required or this clinic should be avoided at all costs.
Agreed. Customer service is huge to me. And it really doesn't take much. Polite, efficient, fast replies. Honouring agreements. Not difficult.

FYI, my latest email to them two days ago about the rebate was ignored.

What a pity to read all these things.
I had Dr Mwamba in my bucket of 6-8 doctors but after following and reading your story, I am dropping this clinic. I believe, customer care is crucial in a business like this and they seem to be lacking big on this now.
Do you have any clinics in your mind for the touch-up? What about Dr Pinto, Dr Bisanga, Dr Feriduni and Dr Couto, have you reached out to any? I am pretty sure you have an easy fix for that hairline so do not worry too much. Also, your donor looks excellent. Thanks for sharing your experience and helping others.
I have reached out to a couple of highly respected doctors and will be seeing them for consultations in September, God willing. Both names you will know.

I went back for three days to get my hair washed and they were very good for that.
Communication by email is awful otherwise, even if you are a post op patient.

Nader has a good repair case on Reddit. He seems like a solid choice

If it's temple points, nothing is wrong
-
I think people are confused what you mean by temples. Are we talking about your 'temple points' (on the sides of your face) or the holes in the corners behind your hairline

Sad to see this I’ve been very busy lately with life so haven’t been on the forum in a couple months but I’m sad to say my result has not been what I expected either I gave up in the progress photos after getting no replies on them my density is just not what I was told it was gonna be and if from what I’m reading is correct there will not be any free or highly discounted touch up in a few years I’ll probably finish up the journey with couto or Cooley
Have you spoken to Dr Mwamba?
-
Definitely bro. Most important, the holes are closing up

Well done, you chose a great surgeon

I think I would agree with HappyMan.
I have sent several emails about the rebate and have also sent emails about the price and received no reply anyway. So my time to talk with the clinic and discuss with them is over.
I have been very fair in my assessment and have never said Dr Mwamba is a bad surgeon or he botched me or anything like that. But I feel I have to report the truth on here for other members, so that's good and bad.
So to summarise, I'm not really interested in a public rebuttal from Dr Mwamba's clinic via Melvin

Bro - this is absolutely ridiculous. After reading this and @Ajamilo's experience, I can't say it's worth recommending Mwamba at this point.
From your story, it appears he doesn't honor his commitments nor does he seem to care about patient well-being. Based on online testimonals, it seems his communication -- or rather lack of -- seems to be a universal problem the clinic has had for years.
Sad to see such a fall from grace.
I would also like to add, for completeness, that when I saw Dr Mwamba in person and he offered me the price for a future surgery, I didn't push for more discount or anything. It's only after when I thought about it and compared prices to other surgeons I considered it way overkill.
