  1. imo both is good as long as the graft placement (incision+implant) is not in a straight line, because that is what make some bad HT looks like a barbie plug. even with a single graft only on the front, it would still be somewhat noticeable if you pay attention.

when the hair does grow, with single grafts, the front 'line' isn't as visible, thus normally people wouldn't really be able to tell if you had dotted or straight one as the grafts that grows are soft, and there are usually a few spots that doesn't grow, this would create irregularity as well.

  2. dermapen would still break the hair, both could and would pierce the hairs. still, dermapens does offer better stability on both depth and coverage, and one of the best advantage, that it deals less trauma since while both option pierces the skin, dermaroller could "tears" the puncture site due to drag factor. this is less of a concern on elastic skin though, but definitely moreso on less flexible skin.

Hi, is there long term side effects from loss of libido?

    I go to the gym twice a week, don't eat meat & I'm 26. :)

It's not definitive, but it's possible that you would be not interested in sex much in the future. It's more to the conditioning and that you are used to it, it becomes your normal.

Most people have their sex drive usually, and only lose them in certain condition like melvin said, depression is a common example.

It depends on you really wheter or not you consider this a problem, since there are those who genuinely aren't interested in sex itself, but for most men, sex drive is integral to their life.

You'd want to consider for your future though, since if you're going to have a partner, sex drive does help in relationship since having both emotional and sexual attraction usually is the best. Unless you're going to be strictly platonic, that is.

  4. 2 month update

still ugly duckling as per timeline, rather optimistic as sprouts should start showing around month 3-4.

currently very few graft has sprouted, noticed due to the front most graft since that area did not have hair, only vellus before this.
*many of the very soft vellus hairs are not growing grafts, but baby hairs since i had them before the transplant. the several hairs on the frontmost that looks somewhat healthy however, are transplanted hair. only a small percentage of them are the non-shed hair from the operation, most of them have grown as they were only holes before from the shedding.

as you might have noticed though, the crown area where grafts are transplanted, the native have shown very slow growth, either this is due to my weak scalp area, or that the implantation has "shocked" them, i don't know. although i'm more to the shock possibility since despite my crown being a little thin, it was still quite filled before this.

other than that, the angle of my growing hair that curves shows very different curve to the native, but since the angle where it grows to the scalp is somewhat correct, i'm not worried since styling them should fix the problem, and as i know it, the curving direction can be adjusted over time.

all in all, while there is a little worry, mostly i'm just looking forward to the next few months where growth would be visible 🙂

  5. don't think there is. the hair on transplanted one would have "died" and the follicle would be on resting phase. unless it didn't go on the resting phase, then you did pluck an active hair.

as far as i know, if you pluck an active one, it would just be on resting phase prematurely, while if you pulled a "dead" hair, it doensn't affect the graft as it's resting anyway.

plucking though does fasten the miniaturisation process if i am right since miniaturisation occurs per cycle and you're shortening the cycle.

also, i did use a tweezer to gently pull on the transplanted hair to pull the to be shedding hair on a few spot, and one of them is already appearing. might be an isolated case but that one graft is growing early despite me tweezing that graft to pull the shedding hair.

  6. i think many would voice the same concern as me, that is to not go on those final 3 clinic as of now, due to failure / unsatisfactory result concern.

i don't know your exact situation, but from your name of 'mood swings' alone, i'd say to not get any yet until you are feeling confident and sure on your dr of choice. while the chance of having a bad work / botch isn't as big as many would say, it's still sizeable, and going through any kind of bad work can easily send you into emotional chaos.

  7. it depend on your budget but i do think you'll need more than 3k, probably 4k+ grafts. if you can afford it, you can go higher.

as of the moment, dr yaman is under bad light due to multiple 'bad' results from last year. i have no idea about your local clinic though, so i can't say much about them.

then there's also slight thinning in the crown, if you want to put some grafts there, that's be more grafts and budget to prepare.

  8. The poll results from this thread alone have almost a 50-50 for yes and no on the side effect. Normally pharma reduce the number to the lowest in order to have more people have confidence to take the meds. The fact that most ethic or brand bound clinic would tell you that you might experience side is a telling sign already, since most usually don't bother unless the chance is more than 5 10%. This is the case in my country at least.

Also note that men doesn't usually like to open up their weakness, and hving weak sexual capability could be seen as one. As for narmak's comments on the wives.... we are an international community, just because something is a certain way on someone's country, doesn't mean that it is so everywhere else. Also as far as i know it, india has a very strong patrialchal culture with men being very dominant. (Not as bad as some middle east, but still strong compared to the rest of the world).

  9. thankfully it seems most of the grafts survived, meaning the doctor is actually quite ok at extracting.

a touch up repair would be good for you, since one of the most noticeable problem is the pluggy / lined up front and people can see that they are lined up in a horizontal line.

some grafts in front of the line with natural irregularities would fix that, along with some insert on the middle to break up those lines.

  10. There aren't many good doctor that would operate on you because of your age.

Have you tried meds to prevent further loss? Most doc wants you to be on meds as well.

Asians are rarer on their work spectrum, but what i saw from thai recommended docs here, most of their clientele is australian and asian, so you might want to take a look at them. Dr path, dr laorwong, for example.

There is a good doc in SG but i can't recall his name. His pricing is pretty expensive though.

  11. like others said, stay far from serkan aygin, it's a commercial hair mill. if you still go there, just keep in mind you decided to take the risk despite the warnings.

for me i think dr bicer is a great option at 2 euro per graft, but at 2.5, might as well go a little higher since there are many great docs at 3-4 Euro per graft. her pricing jumps from 1.25 to 2.5 which is a doubling in a single year due to demand. not to say she isn't great, but i haven't seen her result for long years that i think screams a "great, totally worth it doc at 2.5".

i'm not really informed of dr gur and turan's work, but so far from what is seen here, many are good result. there was one or two thread of late which had some issue, but i can't really say anything since there isn't really much case studies.

even the doc i went to in turkey has some unsatisfactory/bad result.

turkey is a bang for your buck, yes, but it is riskier than better well known docs.
except for the hair mills, they are like a tourist trap with crap souvernir with no QC, sold at an overpriced rate, while they scream "BEST VALUE, DISCOUNT, MUST BUY".

can you get a good / decent result? -yes.
how likely is it? -probably 50-50.
isn't 50-50 good? -as long as you didnt get a botch, which would require a fix which would cost double or triple
wait what did you say? -not to mention, bonus of depression, crushed self esteem and social life etc.
it's not so bad right? -well... see for yourself the depressing stories many member here have to go through, and decide for yourself.

  12. huh... i hear about the concern above as well, but it's still pretty beneficial imo. but minox does make people have some dandruff problem and itching for example, which is usually caused by dryness, which might be because minox is alcohol based. it would decrease flexibility, and probably wrinkles as well. not sure if this is right though.

Dude I just want to remind you... the area in question, I have already lost all the hairs. We are talking about transplanted hairs! I didnt think it is possible to lose transplanted hairs?!!!

it's possible to lose / have them thinned. people are more open to the idea that what other people lost is native hair because many are rooted to thinking "hair transplant is a permanent solution".

Small Update. I am leaning towards Dr. Kongkiat Laorwong.

    He wrote me the following:

"Your donor hair is good, I think 6000 grafts can be extracted.
We can do 2 separate sessions.
First, 2500-3000 grafts for the frontal area, 1 year later do the rest.
I normally do 3000-4000 grafts in big balding patients.

You can stay a bit longer for LLLT , we can remove the scabs for you after 1 week.

This price we include free PRP injection during the procedure and post op medications, wound care and LLLT (low level light laser treatment) for 5 days.  "

I have a few questions please. I plan on staying in Thailand for a couple of weeks after surgery to make sure everything is ok.

    1) Would my crown benefit from SMP? I wonder if I could have that done after scabs have been removed. Or is that too close to when I had the HT. I figure I could have a more complete look while waiting for the HT the following year.

I tried searching, but no luck seeing if others have had done something similar.

    2) I can buy topical Fin in BKK? I used to use minoxidil and felt ok using it. But someone warned me of potential heart issues. I caught a small case of Covid (I am vaxxed-so easy recovery) but had weird minor lingering things. So I am trying to be cautious

    3) Thailand requires a PCR or proof of covid vax. Will a photo be acceptable? Or a copy? Don't have the original on me (traveling).

    4) If I get there a couple of days before, I can find a neck pillow, etc right? Plenty of time?

    5) any suggestions on where to stay?

    6) Is there value in trying to add another PRP session right before I head home? Just trying to improve my chances of a good recovery.

    Thanks!

    1. i think you would need to wait for months until the area is fully healed. it's best to not risk the area just after the operation.

    2. if you are fine with using it, unless you increase the dose, it's unlikely for you to experience the increased heart rate unless some specific health condition is achieved.

    3. usually each country have their own way of tracking their citizen vaccination and or PCR test, you can use these, or if not, any proof of them (vaccine cards, PCR result from clinic, etc)

    4. imo you can just get a neck pillow before going there, so that way you can be stress free. if not, yes, you should be able to find one.

    5. -

    6. It might help, but as far as i know, LLLT or PRP doesn't give a significant amount of boost, but perhaps they do so marginally. it's up to you whether to get it or not.
