  1. Hi CM,

i have been trying to decide between the very two docs. i have asked the same question many times, and it seems, both are comparable, and very excellent. Although, in one of his emails to me, Dr. Feller mentioned that 3500 is the upper limit of his sessions, and even that was only in exceptional cases. what is your situation right now. Any pics?

  2. Good luck to both of you. i think Dr. feller has some very satisfied patients. whenever i take the plunge, he will be the one (barring a miracle)

PB, since my hair loss is very similar to yours, i have a question, if you dont mind. Will dr. feller be working just on the bald spots, or to thicken the existing hair as well. if so, and since you have a quite a few of your own hair left, has he discussed any shock loss risk to your existing hair.

    Thanks

  3. Hey Joey, that very concern has been my biggest one too. talked to countless people. everyone has a different opinion. i guess it really does depend upon the extent of your hairloss, the way you wear it, and the number of grafts you get. hairline is always going to be bit more visible, and take longer (i would say 2 months, and even then you would need some sorta coverup, like toppik). crown can be easily disguised with toppik after a week or 10 days.

By the way, what exactly did Dr. Feller say regarding this?

good luck, and please keep us posted.

  4. Guys, i have been visiting tis forum for a while now. I appreciate the willingness of everyone to discuss their most personal issues regarding their hair, their insecurities, hopes, hopes that were dashed, and so much more. Thanks to you guys, i can now discuss my own issues regarding hair loss with some, if not all, of my friends. So, thanks all.

i have a favor to ask you. i know both True and Feller are excellent surgeons. In terms of getting density and more natural results, who would you say is better. i would so very much appreciate your inputs, inputs based on your own experiences, what you have read, seen, friends, friends of friends, whatever. Just give your opinions please.

  6. Guys, Dr. Feller emailed me once. he mentioned the upper limit of his procedures is 3500. i guess he meant extreme cases.

its a pity if he doesn't though. probably the only reason why i might not go to him eventually, as much as i want to, for now.

good luck to both of you and please keep me informed of your progress

  7. Switch, have you tried posting on the hairsite forum. i can understand your fear. The only reason i mentioned hairsite is that, for some reason, Dr. A is one of the major topics there. Every other post is either by him or about him. You can have your concerns responded to by Dr. A himself, as well as his patients.

    Take care

  8. Gunner,

first off, i couldn't find any pic there.

i must say, i truly feel for you. Most people go through some semblance of what you are feeling when they lose something they cherish, whether its hair, gaining weight, or wrinkles for women. As cliche as it sounds, but there are two ways of dealing with that. self-pity which starts with a meak "why me" and really snow balls into the most destructive force in your life. or play the hand you are dealt the best way you can. the guy earlier was right. no one cares about your hair, except you. fact is, if you could somehow, for one day, forget about the pain its causing you, and behave the way you used to, you will see people will still treat you the way you think you used to be treated. so really, its not them, its you. i am not saying its easy, but then again, any "one" thing is not worth losing so much of your life's happiness over, even if its your hair.

    Good luck and keep posting.

  9. hey there,

i have never used any hair loss drugs. would like some advice on proscar/propecia. should i get a prescription and get the real brand name propecia? or the generic versions are not that different in effectiveness? any places for cheaper propecia. where do most of you get your proscar/propecia?

thanks guys. just point me in the right direction.

  11. Phillyhair,

been good bro. this "pick a surgeon" game was getting to me, so i decided to lay low for a while. 3 months huh? time flies. not for you i guess. you must be getting bit impatient. so, right about now you should start to see some growth, right? next couple of months anyway. i wish you all the luck. i know how long you waited for this, and the research you did.

    look forward to the pics.

  12. First of all guys, i never do this. Any discussion involving celebrities and HT always comes across as corny to me. Having said that, i can't help it. Last night i watched a movie. Its called "control". stars Ray liotta. I have seen him in person about 2 years ago (i intern for a production company here in ny). he was practically bald. he must have gotten a great HT. his hair now looks better then when he started in "goodfellas". its not a hairpiece for sure. jus a great HT. in one shot, you can see a glimpse of the donor scar, but his hair looks absolutely stunning, especially the hairline. i would love love love to find out who worked on him. kudos to that doctor.
