They encourage you to do all these tests 7 days before the procedure so they can ensure you quality for a procedure even before you arrive. But they do conduct these tests if there is no other option

I see. Thanks for clearing that up.  This will be my third hair transplant, and its the first time im hearing about these type of tests

@Ryan Daniel I am basically an Indian settled in usa so this trip was a vacation at my home town( Hyderabad) and a ht in Delhi. So I flew to India some 15 days before the surgery.

I had my surgery booked by paying an advance back in December but I kept the surgery date tentative as I had more flexibility as I was already in India.

I did have to fill in at max two papers before I flew to Delhi with regards to my medical history and so on. Apart from that, once I reached the clinic, I signed on some Covid paperwork and hairline design confirmation paperwork.

I think the clinic did a very good job along with Hilton hotel. As soon as i reached the Airport, I received a WhatsApp message from the Hilton hotel representative that he is waiting for me on at gate no so and so. It was a breeze and the clinic called me as soon as I reached the hotel. I reached Delhi one day before but all my tests were already done so all I was doing is taking rest. I then got a call at 8pm from the clinic that I will have to report at 10.30 am the next day for my surgery.

Are the bloodtests done at the clinic?  HB, tlc, dlc, hiv, anti hcv, prothrombin,  fasting blood sugar,  hba1c?

some hairs in the left hairline have gone rogue! they're hilarious - they have just grown thicker and more wild. I don't think i shed these hairs yet.

the area is still obviously red/purple which gives it a darker background, less contrast. still pretty amazed overall.

Thanks for sharing an update.  This photo looks like it's hinting at a very promising outcome!

If I were in your situations I would do my best to get on medication (Finasteride) and give it a year to see whether you hair loss will progress or not.

Melvin above me took the words out of my mouth (what a legend he is)

If the hairloss is stable, you may proceed to get a hair transplant as i am sure you would like a hairline.. nothing crazy and definitely do not lower the hair.

When the time comes, make sure to do your research about picking a doctor.

For now... be patient and listen to others opinions aswell. You are still young and a whole life ahead of you. Now is the time to make wise choices

I am currently in talks with both clinics. Vera clinic said 2.8k grafts for 2900 euros. Now Hair Time is charging 3k euros for 3000 grafts. I checked out both of their instagrams and it seems Now Hair Time has a stronger presence and more clients. If you guys can share your knowledge I would greatly appreciate it.

    A little about my situation I’m considered NW2 27 M // EDIT Looks like I'm more a NW3

Also Clinic center answered back, 1600 Euros for 4000 grafts they said

I am open to suggestions and recommendations. My budget is $3.5k. Thank you everyone for your time.

    Oh my god.

You look exactly like me in 2017.  I went to Istanbul to have 2000 grafts into the hairline because i thought it would give me a full look. But it ended up being the mistake of my life, only because I was on a tight budget aswell!

Do not get a quick fix. With your budget you may end up going to a clinic that may give you a number of issues... such as thick grafts on the hairline, doubles instead of single... and the worst one is wrong angled hair grafts.

Please do your research, you have a healthy donor area. DONT TRUST these hair mills with it.

My advice would be to save your money... and have some PATIENCE.  When the money is ready, choose the Doctor recommended by people in this great forum. You have a chance to do the right thing that will affect the rest of your life (and hair)

PS.   I just checked for you the lowest package with Eugenix. 75 rupees per graft is aprox 1$ per graft. Including flight + other expenses will have to be taken into account.   You need about 3000 grafts for that frontal zone. Do the math.

    Good luck sir

Yea, not a big fan of the design. Looks synonymous with a certain popular hair mill.

Most of these rich sports guys end up going to these instagram hair mills that their agent ''researched''.  which is a pity, considering the millions they have, they could get the best work done in the world... like Elon Musk and Gordon Ramsay

As many of you know I am shopping around for a repair to my messy, misangled hair. Every doctor I've talked to thus far have said this will involve extraction of the bad grafts, and needs to involve multiple procedures. I've accepted this, as sh*tty as it is.

The below is Aditya from Eugenix's assessment back after I told my story and shared all my pictures on their initial consult form. There is no mention of multiple procedures. It really is the ideal situation if it all works out, but I am skeptical because Konior, Gabel, Panine's rep, and probably Mwamba tomorrow have all said my repair will involve multiple procedures, with Konior notably saying it's possible I may need 4 total procedures....

The pictures were modified by Aditya and below is her reply to my consult form.

"1.       We would require around 1500 grafts to 1800 grafts for the overall enhancement of your hairline and the temples. Also, the curvature of your fronto temporal angles on it as well.

    2.       Now, the donor would be more than capable for you to undergo a harvest of 1500-1800 grafts and hence, your scalp would be used as your donor.

    3.       Now, in the temples and the Hairline we need some extractions for re-angulation. However, the grafts would not be re-angulated or placed back in the site. Rather, the grafts will be replaced with more thinner grafts and with desired angles to ensure accurate angulation.

    4.       The extracted grafts from the front would not be disposed of, rather would be used and re-implanted back in your donor site.

    5.       The extractions would be kept minimal and would be factored around 45-50 grafts."

How does this all sound? Do you think I can get this all done in one single procedure?

I know Eugenix has a fantastic reputation on here. But it seems like an incredibly busy clinic and honestly I do wonder about potential communication issues coming from the US. I have numerous and very specific needs for my unique situation, and I simply lack the knowledge to know if I will have the personalized 1:1 care I need at this clinic.

You have the same problem that I have. Missangled grafts across the entire hairline and wide forehead due to no temporal fix points.

I also have spoken to Eugenix consultants and all they can do is give you an estimate idea of what you can expect. These people probably speak to hundreds of people on whatsapp, its impossible to get the real answers compared to what a dr can tell you on call or at the actual day.

Anyway, my advice would be either get intouch with the Doctors either Dr Arika or Dr Pradeep Sethi, and can feedback from them (if either of them are doing your surgery according to the package you have chosen)

They are usually always available during the late afternoon period. I have done a video call with Dr Sethi a few months back. They are definitely a busy clinic, not because they are a hair mill or because they do 6 patients a day, but because they give alot of time and effort to the patient of the current day..  im sure Melvin and Adrian can confirm this

Anyway, since you are in the same situation as i am regarding your hairline, i wish you good luck!

In my humble opinion I would cease the drug and have a wash out until the side effects cease. I would then challenge the drug at 0.5mg on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If you have no side effects after say a couple of months then increase say Monday to 1mg. Stick with this for say a month or so and if still no side effects then increase Friday to 1mg. Again, stay with this for at least another month or two and then increase Wednesday to 1mg. You are now on 1mg Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I experienced side effects taking the finasteride everyday at 1mg. I then had a wash out period as described above then I did exactly as I have suggested. I am on 1mg Monday, Wednesday and Friday and I have zero side effects. I may add 0.5mg on the off days but for me I feel that every other day seems to work best for me. All the best!

1mg on Monday, Wednesday and Friday is the best method according to experts and honest patients across different forums. I would suggest that you keep it this way Adrian 💪

  9. You have the same problem that i have.  You have a dark and strong hairline now but the temples are completely gone. This means there is no frame to the face and it looks unnatural no matter how good and soft the hairline is. I feel the same way, its like everytime you go in the mirror you feel that is something wrong, even if you have no hairloss on top.

My opinion would be that you find a good Dr, that is able to create a softer frame, 1 row of new hairline which will connect with your new temple points. I think this would make you happy, and you wouldn't need more than 900 grafts for this

My procedure with Eugenix isn't until late June, but speaking from previous HT experience in India and from experience currently making arrangements for my next one:

With your phone, you will be able to buy an Indian style plug with USB output in the airport. You should be able to buy an Indian SIM in the airport too. If you don't buy an Indian SIM, keep your phone on Airplane Mode and just enable Wi-Fi. Don't roam unless you are aware of the (usually excessive) charges.

The pain isn't that bad, the needle pricks for the anaesthesia are the worst of it. If you do feel pain, then say something. More anaesthesia will be applied, or more time given for it to take effect. The procedure itself should be painless.

For my first procedure, I took cash as it was little more than AU$10k and I was happy to carry that amount in person. If you are not comfortable carrying cash, discuss payment options with Eugenix and most importantly, with your bank. Having a $10k+ charge suddenly pop up on your credit/debit card from India without prior warning to your bank would probably set off a few alarm bells or be declined.

I stayed for about five days after my first procedure, I wasn't in a hurry to be anywhere and preferred for the first few washings to be done by the clinic.

For my down time between the procedure and my flight, I mostly just watched TV and wandered around the streets within a couple of miles of my hotel. Let me just say, Indian food, cooked in India, is out of this world!

Be aware that the Covid-19 response is an ever-changing situation in India. For the first seven days, you will be restricted to your hotel and the Eugenix clinic. Have a read through https://www.mohfw.gov.in/pdf/RevisedGuidelinesforInternationalArrivaldated20thJanuary2022.pdf which is the latest set of guidelines for international arrivals. You will have to upload a negative Covid-19 test result to the Air Suvidha portal before your departure to India.

This is serious good information. Thank you.

I will be flying to Eugenix all the way from Malta, and i need as much info as possible. It seems like the most challenging part of getting the procedure is sorting out travel papers and hoping you dont get positive test in the process!

Alright guys, it’s been officially three weeks. I’m shedding a lot, and definitely looking balder 😢 but that’s the name of the game. I also cut my sides to a #1 and 1/2 guard at the nape, quite surprised at how well my donor has healed. No shock loss, nothing.

Dr. Sethi did an incredible job at managing my donor. I can cut my hair this short after 7k scalp grafts, I’m amazed.

    Fantastic work so far Melvin!

Alot of people will probably see this and think it looks like clean work and good progress. Which it is! For me, the first thing that caught my eye was at how well your face is framed now.  Looking forward for more to come 😎
