  1. True but even someone with thick hair places 40 grafts per cm there’s going to be some see through effect. That’s why I’m writing average 😂
  2. I wanted for surgeons and people who have done research on this to answer this question if possible. I know it depends on hair characteristics for each individual and mostly it requires two procedures to achieve it , but what what is the average limit of density that the see through effect does not longer exist after hair transplant ? I heard somewhere is a little above 60 grafts per square , is it true ?
  3. Thanks for putting it that way! So I’m gonna ask you as clear as I can be. You saw your problem, you decided to do something about it (the best anyone can do in each situation) , and you have a little left on your donor for future and you have address the situation for now. Let’s assume you’re younger than 40 or at your 40s. Nobody can ensure you about the future , and you don’t know how and if it will progress. Is there a point ( psychologically speaking) that you feel “safe” , you feel “good” and confident with your hair situation and it stops having impact in your mental health? or you continue your life with the feeling of “if I only had the hair I used to” deep down ? thanks for your response
  4. I also do have the same concerns. And I wanted to ask guys who have been the longest with HTs done . Let’s say you are satisfied and happy with your results and you forget about your hairloss for some years. So you definitely have the risk over the years that your hairloss may continue even if you are on medication, or there’s a small chance you don’t have any significant loss over the year. So my question is the following, and don’t get me wrong , I don’t want to bring negativity , I try to understand the best before get anything done cause we’re planning long term here. You guys you have done HT , does it feel like it’s worth it ? I mean don’t you have in the back of your mind that eventually this will continue and you “satisfaction” and happiness lasts only for a few years ? Do you ever feel like it’s unavoidable ? Or do you feel kind of “safe” that you have something in bank to address any future loss and because you are on medication that’s not going to be significant in very small period ? really looking forward to your thoughts !
  5. That’s a nice way to explain the situation. But I disagree in some points as from personal experience . Let me also explain what I mean. I contacted recently two of the top clinics in the Europe. I totally understand how busy it is and especially this season the number of consultations, emails and phone numbers they have to deal with. But i really find it disturbing about the time we have to wait to get a simple reply on an email. And by time I don’t mean some weeks , I mean months . So recently one of the two clinics replied to me 3 times and offered me a consultation date in only 2 days after I sent the first email. the second one , I have contacted them by email by WhatsApp (2 numbers) by personal message here , and I didn’t receive a reply so far , only at my first email 2.5 months back to tell me to send pictures and details for an evaluation. After that they basically disappeared. but as I said I’m totally ok with being busy , but when you ghost people it raises their concerns about future as well. I really respect dr Couto’s clinic , for replying me with en email that at the moment they don’t accept any more patients because they are closed for a year , and even for a consultation I have to ask them again in a year. The difference is they updated me and I know where I’m standing and what to expect. that’s why any top tier clinic has its own communication department, and we have ti remember that clients have made every clinic a top tier , so the least I expect is a “medium” communication , not great , not either good , but medium ! Ghosting feels just wrong for me and makes me very sad. If you can’t manage any more applications or procedures or consultations for a period , just let the rest people know. the reason I am saying all these it’s because when you have decided a certain surgeon’s work is for you after a long period of researching and when you try to contact them you hit a wall , it’s just double psychological effort and all the way again from where you started . I hope you understand me
  6. @BjornBorgvery happy for you ! It looks amazing. Can’t wait to schedule mine with dr De Freitas too, I wish they had reply to me already 😅
  7. I’m not where I read it last , but I have read it a lot from time to time . Finasteride isn’t for everybody . There are some people that finasteride gives nothing. And hairloss is caused in the other enzyme which distributes to DHT. That’s why when they feel finasteride don’t work for them they add dutasteride or switch completely to it. And I know surgeons who recommend it too in some cases. My advise , wait until a year as been said , and if you feel that way , try out dutasteride . But before you do all that , go run some test about your blood to see what impact finasteride has on you . And then after a year . And see what you decide then . But as the guys above said , it’s mainly on your priorities and what you want . If it’s worth it losing your hair only for not taking a pill which you are not sure it has SE on you , then go for it . But if you want to keep them and make a surgical plan for the future when you stabilise it , quit thinking like this and try the solutions offered first . I thought about it from time to time but I find myself thinking this : when it comes for my eyes, I wear my contact lenses everyday and I take them off at night . It has become part of my daily routine. Do I need to wear them ? No, I could wear my glasses around or nothing at all and be almost “blind” with the grades I have. So if you ask me I choose to see clearly everyday . The same goes for my hair . In my opinion even if I had side effects , I would rather be in pain until I can’t get more of it but hold my hair , than let dht to it’s sh*t and leave me sad . But that’s how I think . I hope that helps ! Best regards
  8. Nobody could answer you that with precision, i believe it depends on every situation you currently are every month. I asked the same question to dr Lorenzo when I had my in person consultation and he told me after six months , he can see which grafts actually grow hair and the areas missing . But in my opinion I believe it’s safest after 8-9 months .
  9. Amazing transformation buddy ! Enjoy your new look! It suits your face perfect !
  10. That’s a thought of mine too , but if I need all my donor down the track , It maybe better to have a linear scar and near normal densities behind than the half density all over my donor, that’s why i am not sure yet .
  11. Yes I am on both finasteride and dutasteride and Minox twice a day . Only my uncle , a norwood IV until his 55 , and my grandfather same a norwood IV -V until his 60 and the last decade of his life he reached VI. But I don’t think I follow exactly this path , cause they both , as my cousins , have their temples peak gone really back , and my cousins at the age of 27 have the same reversion with them and I don’t . But not a a clear VI or VII at my family tree.
  12. Thanks for your response! I know! Considering I am still searching the right clinic I’ll probably be 26 when I have my first procedure. And before I decide I did a ton of research , had consultations , and gave it a time so I can see how much affects my mental health at the moment. So planning carefully my future , considering I’m on medication , choosing the right surgeon to address any possible future loss areas so it doesn’t get really bad if it happens , knowing I’ll probably be in need of more procedures in the future , having a strong donor , being conservative with my hairline , affecting my mental health in a huge rate at the moment , and before all these agreed with one of the best surgeons that I should go on with this if I want , I don’t see any serious reasons why I shouldn’t go with it and wait until I’m 30. There are two options and not for every one , because everyone is different, but for most people, either you wait until you are in a good age to go on but it depends on how much can you handle it until then , and do one or two “big” procedures to address the problem , or you do your first considering all the above at a “young” age and be ready to do small touch ups if needed down the track . And tbh I prefer the second one. But again it differs from people to people and problem to problem! Despite all these it’s also a part of my job to have a good image so that’s an added reason for me !
  13. I can’t take pictures at the moment , but These are a few days before. The first is before the thinning in my frontal area occurred, I had my temples receded and I didn’t even know I had hairloss , it suits me a lot , and I was like this as long as I remember myself. The other two shows that my right temple has receded a little more in the forelock and you can see the difference in the healthy hair on the left and the thinning ones in my frontal lines . Lorenzo told me that I haven’t lost density as per grafts but my forelock is thinned so it appears worse than if they were healthy and that’s making my frontal third looking this way . I don’t know how many of these grafts will stay with medication , I don’t expect them to thicken up tbh , but he quoted me I could be addressed with 2000 grafts for an area of 58cm2 with the conservative hairline we designed ( we didn’t brought down the widows peak , I’m interested in slightly close the temples , and adding density in my forelock and hairline like it was before). If you ask me my frontal half is the most important part of my scalp so I’m planning to reach near natural densities there with a good hair/graft ratio. And I know that for this I am in need of two small procedures and I have decided to go that way and if anything occurs in the future on my crown or midscalp I will accept lower densities but I don’t except for my crown to be slick bald so I would be in a very good place ( for those who are reading , all of these considering a hairline of NW II , accepting I have to go with multiple procedures and maybe a few more in the future if my hairloss continues despite my medication , and with a donor of 12.500 which if I push I can go with 13.000 , and I also have a good set of beard and chest hair ) So here you go :
  14. Thank you for taking the time to reply Melvin! Thing is I already am fan of these guys results and thrilled by them and wish them the best. Indeed dr Bisanga and Feriduni are great . I am almost a step before going with dr De Freitas though considering FUE, as my texture is similar to Bjorn’s , and when I saw his result it was like seeing myself before I even had hairloss. And I like the approach of all these three and the detailing work they do, but I’m confused as with the type of procedure I should go for first time considering I am very young (25) despite the fact of my very good donor , cause we all know you never know how things turn out . And to catch you before you say anything for my age , I was a norwood II almost all my life , I always had my temples receded and I thought it was my normal hairline , I mean I didn’t ever think of that being balding. The thing I want to say it’s just the density in my forelock that Bothers me and that I have to cover my frontal area the most and I would be very happy to be a solid and strong norwood II again! So what would you do if you were me ? Would you go for a FUT or FUE ?
  15. Thanks for your response ! I hope you’re delightful with your results and you’re living even happier after this ! I’m not a very high norwood , I’m a IIa, and possible future III and I am on medication and I’m planning to be. But tbh I’m a perfectionist and I’m searching ways to maximise my donor area if needed down the road. And i am becoming very careful with the details cause I’m thinking of achieving the greatest possible result as for the density with two procedures in the same area with a conservative hairline because I also have high density behind . And even if I have a great donor I want to start in the best way possible my journey and that’s because I have high expectations and I am lucky to be able to have them , and even for that I know you have to be very careful with the donor management. In case you’re wondering, the estimation of my pattern and donor area was by dr. Lorenzo in f2f consult ion and examination of my scalp and it was 280cm2 with 80-90 grafts per cm2, 55 microns and he estimated that I have a supply of 12.500 .
  16. @asterix0@Gasthoerer thank you for the responses. I’ve done some research and indeed they got some great work. Any ideas which one of them can dense back or even achieve very high densities with second transplant in the same area ?
  17. Hey guys, I am just searching options and doctors around and I don’t have a clear picture of this topic. from your experience or based of what you have saw , is there any doctor doing FUT procedures at the level of Hasson and Wong’s in Europe? and by the level I mean mostly the donor works and the outcomes. As far as I have searched in Europe we have some of the best FUE doctors in the world, so what about FUT ?
  18. I was about to ask someone the same think but then I read at Bjorn’s thread that Ignacio from the clinic told a member to contact him in private so I found his number on his profile and sent him a message on Saturday on WhatsApp asking him about this and I I haven’t received a response yet. I also had completed the form they sent me on October and I still haven’t received a response to book a consultation. On their email they told me it would be approx 2 months for the response and on WhatsApp which I contacted the other number back then told me approx 1 month for the response. I don’t write it as a complaining , cause I have really decided to go with Dr De Freitas and I can’t wait to book my surgery . And that’s the reason I’m trying contacting with them , so u can build a timeline , cause I am at the same boat as you @jay80 , I am all set up I am just waiting for the date, and if they told me they have a free spot tomorrow I would write from Plane right now 😂
