Oh trust me mate, I am weeeeell aware of the importance of DHT. Just great hearing that Pitella wont even prescribe it to anyone that shows he's done his research.
I recall him saying he couldn't prescribe a medication he wouldn't be willing to take himself. Very admirable in my opinion.

Does he apply it to his entire scalp? On their website, it shows the amount dispensed with one pump and it doesn't look like it would cover a whole scalp. I haven't received it yet. Actually, I've just encountered a major hurdle as I have been informed by Xyon that they do not partner with any pharmacies in the province where I live (Saskatchewan). This is very disappointing as I was really hoping to try it out.
Yeah mean they can't just post it? Guess I'll never get to try it where I am LMAO

My bad, I missed the 1mg part of your post. So even 1mg caused a drop in your blood pressure then??
Wow, thats interesting. I wonder what 250mcg might do though. Or even less than that
Yeah I can't say 100% it dropped blood pressure as I didn't get readings but I definitely felt the symptoms.. Wondering whether to try 0.25mg but some say that's worse that topical in terms of efficacy

What dosage did you take?? The article talks about 1/40th of a regular dose.
So around 250 micrograms if you're talking about a standard 10mg tablet
as I said, 1mg. I don't know what the 'regular dose; they refer in this article is

Pictures might help.Something tells me if it's just front refinement you may want even less than 1000 grafts

I think the bottom line is Dutasteride goes less systemic than finasteride but not zero systemic. Topicals have become such a cash grab in my opinion focused on marketing to those scared of side effects than those legitimately with side effects. If the latter market was bigger you'd see more companies invested in carriers designed to reduce systemic absorption like Xyon. It'll be exciting to see results with their topical dutasteride in due course.
@Follicle1984 with FUE clinic you are technically getting it from a doctor who's assessed your case via a photo.

That makes sense!
Yeah it's pretty logical, I believe this too but can never seem to get a straight answer about this

For the love of all things dude, don't go to this mil!! Your future self will thank you infinitely

Thanks for this thread. I just purchased Xyon, and have attempted finasteride twice. Once oral and once topical. Both times experienced one situation where I couldn't get it up and immediately discontinued. Side effects subsided after that so that tells me I can return to baseline.
Going to try Xyon as well MWF
Awesome, let us know how you get on

In the larger timeline, 6 months is nothing for a life altering surgery. Use fibres, have a 'hat phase' if you need.
What medication did he prescribe?

Eucapil has better evidence than alfatradiol

The main benefit of topical application is that you avoid first liver pass and the creation of metabolites.
Metabolites from Finasteride and Dutasteride are almost always the reason for side effects.
Topical Finasteride is only safe at 0.025% , anything higher than that (0.05% or 0.1% or 0.5%) yields the same amount of suppression as oral finasteride.
What you want do to is use this dosage and use it 3 times a week max (1ml). By avoiding first liver pass, absorption and therefor systemic accumulation by spacing applications at a low concentration you are doing the only thing you can to halt MPB without side effects if you are prone to them.
This is why I used Topical Dutasteride 0.1% every 10 days and I was completely fine while I was totally messed up with Finasteride.
Did you also get sides from the topical finasteride protocol you mentioned?
-
I've heard that it provides the same systemic absorption as 0.05% fin in a standard carrier with better efficacy.
With topical fin in general a lot of attention goes to the people who are 'concerned' with taking oral finasteride rather than those who have been legitimately unsuccessful with side effects even from micro-dosing. That's because the former would be the larger market. From what I see, Xyon favours highly the maximising of efficacy and making a balance.
They say it's the equivalent of 0.05mg orally in terms of systemic exposure, sadly there a still a minority who develop side effects from this.

For a while I was playing hit and run with trying very low dose of topical fin and side effects. Eventually I would get them, then wait out a week for the side effects to go away.
But for my last one, I'm 2 months out and even though side effects are 95% gone, still not completely. Strongly considering discontinuing.
what dose are you taking?

You'd be in state of the art hands with either.
Dr Hasson is perfectly capable of producing a natural crown as is Dr Wong doing a Gigasessions when warranted. Both are some of the most experienced in the world with advanced Norwoods. If you'd feel more comfortable going with Dr Hasson because of many recent results posted that's perfectly reasonable. I'm getting an FUT with them so that was my decision made!

Poor uy would be so much better off take the hairline higher and getting actual scalp coverage
-
Very happy for your result. It may get slightly more dense in the next few months. Bet it makes a big difference from before
-
I feel your pain man.. It really sucks being unlucky enough to get sides while you, especially after being told how amazing fin works for diffuse thinners.
You absolutely need some form of stabilisation before thinking about hair transplant. Oral Minoxidil is a decent alternative and worth trying. Otherwise, try topical minoxidil ideally fortified with azaleic acid and caffeine along with a ketoconazole shampoo (or cream). There's other options too that will significantly slow the rate of progression
I also agree with the above comment that you need a proper consultation to be inspected for DUPA.
PS. Did you get the same erection issues on the topical spironolactone?
-
Nice one, mate. I think it was wise Dr Wong didn't take the hairline too low as to get adequate scalp coverage. The exiting hairs will provide a natural looking graduation of density

To anyone criticising the graft count, it's true tat head size can play a massive part in the amount of grafts required. Dr Hasson also would've factored in that fact he's on medication and is very likely to have stability for a long period of time.
