The main reason the strip is high imo is because in your before pictures from the sides the hair is actually a lot denser than further down which is actually quite common
-
I thought Hasson stopped doing FUT. Really clean work, you'll have fantastic density
-
FUT is still a powerful tool selected patients. Especially those with retrograde alopecia which is increasingly prevalent in younger populations. It's a shame it's getting abandoned entirely

Greetings everyone, I’m finally back to give you guys an update. Life has been crazy as I’m sure you all know but I hope it’s treating you well! It’s been over 2 years since my FUT procedure and I can say that I’m satisfied. This made such a huge impact for me being such a young age and I can’t say I regret it at all, although I do wish I would of weighed my options a little more. If I was to do it over again, I would of went with FUE instead because finasteride has been working amazing for me. If I would end up losing the rest of my hair in the future I could just shave my head. But since I went with the FUT, I now have to figure out some way to deal with the scar if that happens. All in all I’m super grateful with the result I got from it and I definitely can’t complain but I am limited to about a #4 to #5 guard which could be much worse I suppose. Im in the process of trying to reduce the size or visibility of the scar… it’s about 1.4cm wide. The picture makes it look much larger. I’m not blaming the doctor for it by any means, It may just be the way that I ended up healing unfortunately. I’m gonna attach some pics and I’ll make sure to stay logged in to chat or answer any questions!
Woah that is a wide scar but great result on top. Have you thought about getting FUE grafts to camouflage it?

If not waiting is important, you're better off traveling than risking a bad one

Hasson and Wong also tend to do sharper temple points

Has anyone seen their side effects go away or decline after six months? The clinical studies suggest they usually do.
I've heard conflicting things. The studies can be a bit misleading in my opinion as they sometimes don't factor in who dropped out

No reason ever to use topical finasteride twice a day. The only reason they say that is so you'll go through the product quicker and they double their profits.

Update, I tried again. Since fin is a better hair preserver than min, I thought it might be worth giving up min for fin. But I still seem to get about the same side effects as the Farmacia Parariti formulation when using at the same dose.
So back to the drawing board.
But if they ever make a version with min in it, I would probably still buy it since it seems to have more research done on it than the Farmacia Parariti version. Even if it's like 1% better, still probably worth the extra money.
Maybe even applying just monday/thursday would be better than nothing?

I'm assuming this is H&W? They'll likely dense pack quite heavily so if you lose a small amount in total there should still be good density, though nothing with hair restoration is EVER guaranteed. You also might get an effluvium but like hair transplant recovery, that's a waiting game anyway
-
Last one, when will it be released internationally?
-
Another one haha. I've heard quite a few anecdotes of topical minoxidil making topical finasteride more systemic. Is there any truth to this?

Also will the Live be on Instagram or YouTube?

Is the % of finasteride able to be reduced if needed?

He's had quite the journey but it definitely looks better when grown out. Is an interesting point that we went with Mwamba. Maybe he was offered it for free though McGrath would probably do the same

Dr. Victor Hasson mentioned collagen reduction with minoxidil in his IG live with Melvin. Dr. Hasson said minoxidil users have compromised scalp tissue because of collagen breakdown and it’s very obvious when they dissect strips under microscopes. My skin definitely got worse while I was on topical minoxidil for an year, I stopped after consulting with Dr. Hasson who said he says premature facial aging all the time with minoxidil.
I also switched from fin to dut about an year ago and it’s been great so far. I had some mild side effects on fin but it’s been the total opposite on dut (higher libido, stronger erections, very frequent morning wood which never happened on fin).
This paradox around the fin/dut side effects is just fascinating

You're being fixed by one of the best in the world, stay the course mate

Of the few accounts I've heard and read it's relatively underwhelming, pyralutamide is showing more promise
-
I've heard Dr Hasson talk in a video once giving examples he's decided to proceed after discovering a patient has a worse complications than an ingown hair - If I was you I'd be confident he wouldn't let this stop him.

good to hear you'd like to provide info for future candidates. If you're in Australia as your name suggests, I think they need it with their local options!
Sounds like you've done your due diligence and If your surgeon is one listed here you're off to a better start than most. Best wishes

Any hair loss treatment can cause an initial shed no matter what it is

If I was in your position I'd see how I respond to all other modalities of treatment including oral minoxidil, microneedling, laser, and ketoconazole shampoo. A good surgeon would likely want you to be stable before they start tampering with what's there. Without finasteride there will always be the change of future loss despite the other modalities. There are new topical formulations on the horizon worth trying. Of course you can't base any firm decision around those though

Very clever illusion of density in the crown by condensing it on the center to splay out 👍
