  1. Yes but so what? If you want to add more grafts from FUE then as long as they have been taken carefully, more grafts can be taken from all over in the same way. The unused ones aren't damaged or anything which seemed to be implied in the post I replied to.
  2. I mean, many other top tier surgeons mostly don't do FUT also.. If you are taking FUE individual units, why would there be less grafts available later? The other units are untouched and still there?
  3. This question is more from when FUE techniques were poor. Now they are extremely good it’s FUE all day. FUT shouldn’t be considered except for rare cases imo. Just make sure you pick a top class surgeon though..
  4. No, I saw one of the “top-ups” recently and it was still a poor result but now the guy has had 2 years wasted by this doctor along with all the stress. If they could do it right they would have done it the first time - don’t go back to a surgeon that failed. Find a genuinely good clinic and you’ll actually get the good result you deserve.
  5. I don’t think it’s the case generally, but for this doctor I 100% agree.
  6. Yes, big developments each month! You’ve made it to the fun part..!!
  7. Was looking forward to this update 🙂 Looking sharp - congrats amigo!
  8. 2.5mg can be very effective! Good luck :0)
  9. You are giving advice out, but then state that you're taking double what doctors prescribe of the drug for hair loss (5mg)? This could be a factor why you have had so much body hair growth.
  10. Probably easier to ask the clinics you are interested in how they take payment
  11. Looks disappointing so far unfortunately, with Dr Arshad you seem to have to be very lucky to get a good result instead of with other recommended clinics here unlucky not to get a good result. I only mean in terms of the hair thickness achieved here. Wish you all the best though there’s still time for improvement, and don’t feel down you’ll get some improvement and they’ll always be options for other clinics in the future.
  12. Shock loss isn’t really that common. Not heard of minoxidil being used to prevent shock loss. + I’m not sure there’s really much to be done if it does happen, the hair will recover around 3 months later anyway from what I’ve seen.
  13. It’s not a smart idea to look at it like this imo - things work in balance. Just take the recommended 2.5 or 5mg recommended for hair loss. That gives plenty of benefit with little risk of side effects.
  14. @Adier please cite your evidence that oral minoxidil in low dose for hair loss “affects your heart health”?
  15. This forum saving lives from the brink of disaster out here!
  16. Anyway, that’s enough spieling from me on this thread! Hope everyone finds what works best for them 👍🏼
  17. Maybe there is something wrong with the suggestion though, because you might be adding worry, take up people’s time and money doing these things which could be completely unnecessary. Based on what. This is why I think it’s best to take suggestions from doctors specialising in the area, who actually have a real understanding of the risk profile for each individual patient. Not people who could be passing on forum rumours from somewhere else on the internet.
  18. Now you’re making it sound unsafe but Proscar which is the same drug in higher dose is FDA approved so has a safety profile. You mean it’s not FDA approved for hair loss. And no + that’s not likely to happen as it already has FDA approval for the other purpose and the process costs a huge amount of money, they are making a huge amount already from the topical (or maybe they don’t even have a patent right for the oral version for that purpose I don’t know) so there’s little incentive for it to ever happen.
  19. That’s your opinion, I take oral minoxidil without finasteride and it seems to work well for me, so far at least. Yeah it’s a drug for hypertension .. when used in a much higher dose. Finasteride is a drug for benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate)… when used in a much higher dose. Now my doctor didn’t say I needed to do anything like what you’re saying here. So on what basis are you giving this medical sounding advice to people? Low dose minoxidil is a relatively benign drug taken by millions of people in topical form and oral form isn’t much difference when it’s low dose as well. Honestly after how this thread has gone and other conversations around hair loss drugs I’ve seen on forums the best advice is don’t take any advice on a forum, including from me - speak to doctors who are knowledgeable in the area that can properly understand your medical situation and advise you.
  20. … why? Would you go totally against the medical instructions of how the drug is supposed to be used. Seems unnecessary as it’s possible to just get proper dosed and made for bodily consumption oral minoxidil prescribed by a doctor.. totally risky and.. crazy to do this imo!
  21. Sure although most studies on side effects are based around the drug’s initial use for blood pressure where people take 10-40mg per day which is a huge amount more than the 2.5-5mg people take for hair loss, I often see people are (in my opinion) overly concerned basing it around the potential side effect risks of as if they would be taking so much.
  22. Post your experience of course, I’m only suggesting things aren’t always as clear cut as they seem. But aside from that yes I do think your statement “overthinking it, I don’t think doctors should describe oral minoxidil in any form!” is exactly what I’d call fear mongering actually!
  23. I’m not in denial at all, it’s just not a good idea to jump to conclusions, especially in this case without medical input. Anyway, it works great for me. The only advice if you are interested in it is to read the studies (https://m.youtube.com/c/MrRolandas) has good links to them if you search or ask the doctor for them, start on a low dose and consult with a doctor while monitoring. If you aren’t interested that’s fine - the only reason I’m bothering to say this is as there’s definitely excessive fear mongering on forums around the subject and often people know hardly anything about it.
