  1. Apologies I think I miss worded my question I meant in relation to shock loss of native hair during a transplant, not the actual transplanted hairs
  2. What about none transplanted hair? How often do they go into a shed/shock loss and when do they tend to recover?
  3. Thanks for the reply’s guys it’s just nerve racking to see my hair look worse than it was prior to the HT
  4. I have shock loss behind my hair line on one primarily side, 30 days after surgery, was wondering what the time line for native hair recovery is, and if anyone has personal advice on shock loss they went through Note- specifically none transplanted hair I have been told it is related to the trauma of surgery and the use of anaesthetics 1. how common is temporary shock loss 2. what can be done to speed up the process 3. how long does it typically last? if anyone has any direct experience in this matter would love to hear from you
  5. That’s generally what I assumed, given that the hair shaft isn’t responsible for the cycle, but people seemed adamant they needed to pluck them
  6. Hey, I am on month 5 of my HT, and noticed some relatively short hairs that look like they are still dormant, given that they are still hanging around I can only assume they latched onto a blood supply. I have seen some folks here and on Reddit gently remove them with tweezers however I am not interested in doing that, so my question is, will they fall out on their own and restart their cycle or do I NEED to assist them? I just assumed given they were dormant they needed more time, so I’m genuinely suprised folks claimed they removed them w tweasers. I have had others simply tell me not to touch them and they will fall on their own in time, or simply restart their cycle.
  7. Just mean't is it on track in terms of growth? I see alot of slow and fast growers so it's hard to gauge
  8. Just thought I would drop an update, and ask some questions. I feel like I am a little behind in terms of growth on my left side, is it normal for 1 side to lag abit, and overall how's it lookin for 92 days out? I see some people with insane results at month 2
  9. Noticed some new hairs sprouting in, also some of the old ones never dropped and kept growing around 10% never fell out, but also I have some very short hairs then never dropped and dont seem to be growing, are they just sleeping? Why didn't they fall out if they arent going to grow straight away, abit confusing
  10. You could just be a really slow grower, it's not unheard of. Ignore people jumping on the "damaged grafts" train, they are speculating 100%, also you have a change in density between month 5/6 so it indicates things are still on their way
  11. Okay, so from experince I know, two things 1- oral is way more effective than topical 2- oral is dose-dependent and has the more you take the better your results, unlike topical where you are limted by skin absorption and lack of enyzme activity(Even in responders theres a finite amount of enzymes), your liver has way more of the enzyme, minus for special cases such as people with down syndrome. So, we know topical minoxidil is used to help prevent/work through shockloss, so is it safe to assume oral minoxidil would in turn do the same thing? Given that the mechanism of growth for minoxidil is due to minoxidil sulphate not the actual minoxidil itself.
  12. No worries, just a lil anxious about the whole thing, had hair in my new hairline and now its gone, but I guess the sooner the shed the sooner the regrowth, its just all very mentally taxing, especially because I am starting a new job soon
  13. Recently asked on the fourm and Reddit if L/J shaped sheds were normal and was reassured it’s common(managed to find a lot of ppl asking the same question) just wanted to post my month 1, shed really picked up very fast, fingers crossed for a speedy regrowth
  14. For refference, those pictures of hooked etc aren't mine, the only J/L shaped ones I have are very mild. Based on my searches on the fourm, and the internet now, it seems very common for some grafts to expect this behaviour
