  1. Howdy, I live on the sunshine coast. Im 55 yo and am booked in with dr path on november this year for around 4000 grafts. My expectations are very modest. I know my hair will always be thin even after the HT but general coverage is what im after. Just started taking 0.5mg of propecia a day to try and slow further loss which is very slow now anyway. Cost $35 per month. cheers
  2. Good luck with your HT this week hst...:-) I bet youre a bit nervous about it but it sounds like youre in good hands with Dr Path. I trust all goes well for you. Are you going alone or will you have company. Please post youre experience when you return including which hotel you stayed at, where you visited, and of course how it all went on the day, and any other advice you can give....cheers
  3. Gidday. Im booked in with Dr Path in November. I have a question. I have just started on propecia. Its 70 bux a month here in Australia for 28 x 1mg tabs. Is it cheaper in thailand and will dr path prescribe it. might be able to get a year or twos worth over there alot cheaper than in australia....cheers
  4. Ok you want abs. This is what you do. if you have no problems with your lower back situps are good..you can do them anywhere. work up to 80-100 first set, 40-60 the second and 30-40 the 3rd depending on your age. do them rhythymcally not too fast. i have my ipod every workout..keeps me from talking and inspires me. do the ab work 3x a week. thats the easy part. If you have a bad back go to the gym and do cable pull downswith the ropes...kind of a situp on your knees bending over....The hard part is diet. If you eat more than you burn you wont see any difference except a harder stomach. If you reduce your food intake so you use more calories a day than you eat you will see abs eventually. Or if you do cardio you will speed the process up alot cz cardio speeds your metabolism and burns energy. if youre young keep the intensity up...30 minutes ata time...for old guys like me i do less intense for 30 at a time. Want fast results...do the situps 3x per week, workout each day and cardio the same day 3 or 4x a week..and watch your food intake...you will strip down fast...but work into it over 4- 10 weeks, depending on how fit you are to start with, not all at once ( I tend to think according to my age).have one full day off it all per week. weight loss is training the mind as much as training the body and you have to work the mind into it as well. Im 55 and I look better now than I was at 25 and better than most guys in the gym now. Im a former novice Mr NZ, I know how to get results. Ok diet. Find what works for you. we all like different food. I skimp on breakfast( couple of eggs 1 pc toast) have a medium lunch 2 x chicken and salad sandwiches and a big dinner- (whatever i want) with beers or wine..:-) But im at the gym every day, and 3x a week Im there twice a day for cardio the 2nd time. Its hard going at my age cz the older you get the metabolism slows down and its a battle but my overall intake and the calories i burn is what counts for how I look. check the scales once a week, if youre losing every week and doing ab work the abs will happen. dont try and lose too much at once tho, the mind dosnt like it, lose a little at a time. eat as healthy as possible. i have cut all deserts/ sweets...except on vacation...:-) sugar is adictive....Good luck.
  5. Hi, my 2 cents worth from a newby. The way we look matters to most people. Often in different ways. for some its teeth, face etc. Life is no rehearsal so I decided to have a hair transplant. My girlfriend dosnt care if Im a NW 6-7 but I do. I have good teeth, a good bod, average looks but I hate my hair when i look in the mirror every day...what hair I have anyway...it really bugs me...its like its with you all the time subconsciously so Im spending $14000 this year to do something about it. Its only money...So if youre not happy with how you are I think start saving up for a HT or if you have the money, plan it. Then you have a goal, some hope for something better and something to look forward to. Ive learnt from this site its no walk in the park but seems to me if you pick a good doc you wont regret it...
  6. Ok thanks for that. Ill see my doc on monday and get a script. im 55 and need about 4000 grats Im told. Anything else i should do...cheers
  7. Just wondering. Im 3 months away from a HT with Dr Path. Should I be starting on meds like propecia etc now or should I wait to see what the doc says I need when i get there. seems like once you embark on this quest for hair all sorts of questions come up...thanks

  9. Thanks everyone for your advice. I transferred the deposit thru yesterday so thats good. Im hoping the Oz dollar will keep rising against the baht because Im still saving hard for the cost of the HT. Will cost about AU$12000.Ill probably take cash in baht over. ill wait for the best exchange rate I can get in the next few months. Hey autopilot, was the Royal view resort close to the surgery and what was the cost per night. Did you have to book the room ahead of time. Thanks
  10. Thats interesting, thanks. i work in a large open plan office so its a bit of an issue for me..i dont like the idea of explaing a hat in the office to everyone I talk to...cheers
  11. I was told by a Gold Coast clinic that if you wash your head with saline solution every hour for 48 hours after the HT procedure the scabs wont form. I also wonder if the new hairs fall out because they break off with the scabs. If they didnt form then perhaps less of the new hair would fall out. Does anyone have any comment. i have an appt with Dr Path in November 09. cheers
  12. Yes I decided on him because of the recommendations on this site. Did you have to pay a $1000 deposit when you first booked with them. Have you decided on a hotel yet. Do you know if they take credit card payments and how does one normally pay for the treatment. My next decision is which hotel to stay at. Bet youre looking forward to the trip. Ill be buying xmas presents there too and trying out the thai cuisine.....Good luck for the 15th
  13. Gidday, Im new to this site. Im 55 and I live on the Sunshine Coast of Oz. After some research I have made an appt with Dr Path in Bangkok because the cost here in oz is more than double that of Dr Path and Dr Path comes with high recommendations and is the closest recommended Doc. I emailed some pics and he said I need 4000 grafts at least. They havent asked for a deposit...is that usual.... and emailed me with a date of 24 November for my consultation and 25th for the procedure. How does one pay. Do they accept a credit card? Do I need to take cash? I was going to take a travel card...like a credit card with baht pre loaded on it but accessed thru my bank. Its a big investment for me...Im not rich...I appreciate all who have posted on this site cz its a great help...thanks to everyone...cheers
