  1. I personally think the side effects are real and not all psychological. However I also think that a lot of them are also psychological. The reported rate of side effects I recent years of people just stating they got side effects is higher that what was in any trials. I think there are certain people that read the side effects then take medication and imagine the side effects because they are expecting side effects. Not to say people don’t get them because they do but I think if people didn’t know what the side effects might be before hand we would have much less people on here saying they have them
  2. Yes thanks for the reply I did see your post. The only issue with that was I wasn’t able to tell how often people were washing. As mentioned if it’s every three days I am seeing lots more which makes sense but is scary but just need to accept it is probably normal and my mind seemingly make me worry it’s worse case scenario again
  3. Hey thanks for the reply. Thats good to hear we have slightly increased shedding period. I have heard of a shedding cycle where we have increased hairs out to do with the seasons but not sure if that’s right. like you say though with the product in is probably why I am seeing more. Hopefully with a hair transplant I might be able to just do my hair easier and with less product rather than looking at it every 10 minutes and putting a tin of hairspray on each time
  4. Hey thanks for the reply. You’re right and I get your meaning with regards the hairs being more after a few days. I shall try not to count from now on as my general density overall seems the same
  5. Hey thanks for the reply. No I don’t feel I have lost any ground. Apart from my temples which have been receded for nearly 15 years now the rest of my hair is generally quite thick. I have only noticed the shedding increase this last week but thinking about it it’s probably just normal like you say. I have always shed loads. Even on the meds I shed the same but they must be doing something for my hair
  6. Thanks Gatsby. I know 100 hairs is about normal I just wondered if some days slightly more than 100 hairs would also seem normal? If I haven't washed my hair for 3 days then I see well over 100 just in the shower alone. would that be normal? Plus upon ruffling my hair I always see 2 or 3 each time
  7. Hi All Do any of you ever have periods of increased hair shedding? and if so how long usually does it last for? I have not had a hair transplant yet. I have been on propecia and 5mg oral minoxidil daily for a year now and have been NW3 for around 14 years with no further thinning but have been on propecia for around 8 of those years apart from stopping to have children. I have noticed recently that i am losing aorund 20-30 hairs with brushing in the morning but this has always been the case and then every 2 or 3 days when I hair wash losing quite a lot. if its a hair wash after only 2 days around 60 or so but if left for 3 days without washing the number is nearer or even over 100 with the amount of hair product i put in to hide my receeding hairline. Just wondering if these numbers sound normal as never really given it much thought before I also had Covid in July and have read that can cause a shed around 2-3 months after Thanks
  8. I was thinking this looked good. To make sure though I went back and looked at your pre op and straight after op photos. I was right I does look good. the temple points look great in fact they have worked nicely. your hairline is there. These hairs shed and then only grow back around 3 months so they have probably only just poked out a month ago they look as they should for now and shall get better for you. You need to remember when looking at other peoples that you had very limited grafts and area than what others do. When other people have 3000 grafts then it’s easy to see growth early on and it look much better than it did a few weeks earlier. With yours you won’t see much yourself it shall just gradually get better and better Your hair is good mate
  9. Going by the moles you have one either side of your forehead i would say the hair grew exactly where they put it from your pre op photos so thats good for you The density you measured is above average i think so this is a real plus How do you feel about the results? what thickness is your hair?
  10. Did he draw you a hairline in the consultation? If you are having it lower and temple points then i think 3000 is right If you are just wanting the receded temples joining up to the central stump then I would think around 2000-2500 should be enough the rest of the hair seems ok
  11. Your Hair looks great. I see the back and sides are shaved at a lower grade and quite high, are the scars very visible? thanks
  12. I agree ten hairs is very normal. We lose 100 a day and washing is where you will see the highest amount that’s normal for everyone even women lose 100 hairs a day and no hair loss
  13. This is looking great, you had a good starting point with your hair but the subtle touch here has added you so much. Enjoy the new hair
  14. Hey buddy I have to say I think Dr Pinto is correct about the hair length, your photos at 7.5 weeks they grey area is not as stark looking when compared to your earlier photos. overall the healing is great, you didn’t need much work but there is not much redness. The work is clean and the donor is perfect. you will be on for a great result. I know others have said to colour the hair if it remains grey, I don’t think you should, no reasonable reason but I feel putting chemicals on the hairs as harsh as colouring shouldn’t be done. I know women do it with no issues but it’s harsh on the hair and the scalp and you should keep it healthy
  15. For being now four weeks post HT you are looking good. The new hairline looks still fully there, some people would have shed nearly all of it by now. the grey patch although is strange as it is that exact area you had the issue I wouldn’t give it that much worry because grey hair is just a loss of pigment. Some men go grey in early twenties but keep a full head of hair until later life. Grey hair still grows strong and long so whilst it might stand out from your other hair shouldn’t be cause for alarm result wise. all of your updates show a pristine condition donor as usual with Dr Pinto his donor management is exceptional and having seen a lot of his cases I don’t remember one yet where a patient got shock loss in the donor so I wonder if this is something to do with how he does things. Anyway whatever he does works and you are in for a great result
  16. Hi having been on finasteride for ten years did you see any initial upturn in your hair? Did you have any regrowth or thickening or do you just think it has slowed the loss down?
  17. Thanks Babou this is helpful as I myself will start the oral minoxidil soon. how many hairs would you estimate you lost daily before using the oral minoxidil if you don’t mind me asking? this should be you set for a good few years now friend
  18. Hi Badou1410 This is a great result! dr B is one of the best. Are you taking the oral minoxidil still and do you feel like you have had any regrowth or thickening from it?
