  1. Lol. You have to post that somewhere like Reddit. When I first started doing my research, I came across reddit and that was my first step. Over there, you got guys paying 2k, 2.5k for a hair transplant. It's almost mindboggling too how they'll spend more money on a business class ticket to Turkey than they'll actually spend on the transplant itself. I saw one guy over there do that. I'm a big fan of Dr. Rassman over there though since he always tries to steer guys in the right direction so as to not mess up their life. 5k, 8k, 10k... None of it is worth playing Russian roulette with your hair. During your life, 10k is just a drop in the bucket. You'll have spent/wasted 10k on much dumber things and not even remember it. The other month, I spent like 15 bucks on a Nashville hot chicken place in Toronto and gave myself hemorrhoids.

  2. I think the balder you are or the more aggressive your balding will be, the more you should look at a system just cause even if you're one of the legendary NW8s, a system can put more hairs on your head than an otter.

Since we're on a hair transplant forum, it's about managing expectations with a hair transplant and a transplant on a NW7 guy might never make him happy with the density and the compromises that need to be made

    I will soon be 31.

H&W just sent my consultation. They suggest 4k-4.5k grafts to fill in the hairline and mid scalp and anything left over will be put on the crown. They are recommending FUE though, which is against what everyone here is saying...so I'm a bit confused on this bit. No reason was given for choosing FUE as far as I can see in the e-mail.

A consultation is just the starting point. You can always discuss with the doctor and see what they think about your situation or ask if you can opt for FUT

Honestly, I have difficulties to understand what "TOP hairline" clinic means?

Highest density? Most aggressive design? Best macro design? Best micro design? Separation of multies and singles?

Especially the first three parameters depend heavily on you individual case and you cannot draw a conclusion from other cases and transfer this knowledge to your individual case. You have to speak to the clinic and let them create a hairline as a starting point of discussion.

Of course there are some general trends:

    - Hattingen being more on the the conservative side with rounder edges - Turkish clinics often (not always) typically more aggressive with sharper edges...but what is better?

    - Micro design is something to look at - as I think a great micro design gives you a more natural result especially when the density is subpar (can happen to any clinic) --> Freitas (even more Diep) would not be on the top of my list as there micro design is not what I (personally) expect from a top clinic

    - Separation between multies and singles is just a "must" - all clinic who fail in that regards are not a top clinic anyway

    Conclusion:

    - There is not such thing as the "top hairline clinic" as every case is individual

    - If the design of the surgeons does not match you expectations and density is subpar then you will be disappointed independent how much praise was given before

    - Visit your favourite clinics and discuss your individual hairline with them - this is the only way to find out if from the top clinics one is your individual top hairline clinic --> In my case (which is very particular) this was Feriduni, but does this make him the hairline king above Lupanzula, Bisanga, Konior (the other clinics I consulted)? I do not think so.

Yeah I can kinda see what you mean with De Freitas in some of his results. It doesn't really bother me though because his hairlines still come out spectacular in terms of things like growth rate and density.

I’m willing to spend the money. Staying close by wasn’t due to travel costs. It’s just a major procedure and there was something appealing about being closer to home for follow ups or even recovering at home vs a hotel room in some other city. But I think I’ve gotten over the geography thing. It’s still just very hard to evaluate doctors and different approaches and know what’s right.

Yeah I definitely feel you. That's why when I've been planning out my transplant, I've been seriously considering staying for a good 2 weeks minimum just in case something goes wrong, I can stay completely local. That and the fact that Spain sounds really nice during the spring. Doesn't really help the hotel room stuff but hey, maybe having access to room service and hotel staff is a benefit

Might just go back and visit again after a few months cause why not get a checkup and enjoy a second vacation though not so sure on this yet

I agree on Bernstein. when I consulted with him, I felt that his hairlines looked like he drew them with a ruler and lacked density. They seem to look better today based on what is on his website, but not near the quality of others.

I noticed that Hasson is great on density but I worry it could exhaust my donor area. His hairlines are great in many ways, but he tends not to fill in the temples. Maybe he views it as too aggressive?  The problem is that I think you run the risk of it looking less natural.

I’d live to speak to Konior, but I’m not sure that will be easy

it’s really hard to actually “speak” to the doctors themselves. Many have these reps / nurses / staff that shield them. It’s kind of weird to be looking at spending over $20,000 and all you do is talk to a non-medical person about a surgical procedure, one that is important for every person. Being told I will just meet the doctor for the first time on the morning of the procedure seems weird. And it makes it hard to know what he / she is like and whether you mesh with their philosophy and approach.

Dr. Hasson definitely has results where he fills in the temples though he seems to do those NW2/NW3 hairlines as well. You definitely can get a straight hairline if you want from him.

Yeah, Doctors can be hard to speak with since they're busy with a ton of other stuff but there are some doctors who speak with you in person. Depends on the doctor tbh.

I've brought this up to them already.  They didn't have much to say except, "don't worry, we're ethical and surgeons license' are on the line so they wouldn't sandbag you on grafts."  They also said that; many of the grafts could've fallen out already (shedding) but these pics are 2-3 days post op.. Also said that they put more than one graft in an incision sometimes, that not all incisions will form scabs (because of the frequent use of saline..).  They said that they transect some of the grafts so I won't have 2500 donor holes.. which is crazy, that increases death rate of grafts and lightens their workload so as to be more profitable.

Plan to go in in a few months to crack down on them and demand a discount / post my experience in every review outlet I can find.

Wait, do doctors count transected grafts as part of the graft count? That's pretty ridiculous if doctors are actually encouraged to transect your grafts for an easier payday. Just transect the grafts and you don't even need to do an incision/implant. Half the work for the same pay

Is this a thing across all clinics or just this clinic? What's the industry standard

    Hi Melvin

I am only sharing my experiences with the doctor Dr. Harun Samiloglu whose services I am very satisfied with. And I think this is perfectly normal.
Özdemir, the owner of the Kozamet agency, only asked me to mention the agency's name so that no confusion with Dr. Sahinoglu from the Health Travels agency.
In addition, I have not received any discounts or other incentives to post a report. I just think it's worth rewarding good work by sharing it with others.

Nothing wrong with posting your review on forums for sure. But seeing as you're from the German forums, you have to admit your behavior sounds pretty suspicious. You're talking to the clinic in order to collaborate on a review for a board that speaks a language that you don't primarily speak. Imagine if my first post was on the Spanish boards advertising some Turkish doctor.

Plus, if the clinic is involved, then there's a good chance they just cherrypicked the good results to post a review. I feel like it's a bit disingenuous

He doesn’t speak English very well, his native language is Portuguese. I can definitely ask if he could with an interpreter.

I'd love to hear from the Spanish doctors on how they approach things. Would be really cool to break through the aura of mystery surrounding them on English forums. The interview could be in Chinese and I'd probably still listen

  10. Maybe another question about medication? I know Dr. Wong was highly optimistic about topical dut while Dr. Bisanga said he's more of an oral minoxidil guy. I wonder if Dr. Konior is experimenting with different drugs as well.

Another question is how aggressive can you go in patients with limited foreseeable loss. i.e. the doctor looks through a microscope and sees limited miniaturization throughout the scalp. I understand that doctors tend to be a bit conservative so as to not deplete a patients donor supply but what about patients who are lower norwood and don't have a ton of miniaturization throughout the scalp. At what point can more aggressive transplants be attempted? The reason I ask is because I kinda want to get my temple peaks done but I'm unsure if it's a wise idea to spend the grafts there or not
