Does he allow the recipient area to be keep long during the surgery or does he completely shave the head?
-
Had a consult with dr Nader and he stated that anywhere from 1000-1500 grafts is needed his prices have gone up though hmr and him are my two choices since they’re both going to give great results for a fair price just wondering if the vitiligo on my scalp can be transplanted on aswell?

i guess it varies between person and their type of procedure and or hair loss...i know a few guys that went there had unshaven/partial shaven and others had to shave it all off....i was told it was better if i shaved it but i was pretty adamant on not shaving it and we just decided to shave it just enough so the doctor can work better...but honestly if i could go back i'd shave it all off....its annoying to deal with after the procedure with the longer hair. are you thinking of going there ? good people over there. good luck
Yes probably next year just wanna see what I can get back with treatments right now I’ll be following your progress for sure my hairloss is similar but only on the temples so I would hope that once I’m there he doesn’t shave the whole head because I do want to do my best to hide it I emailed him this week and sent new better pictures and was quoted 1800 grafts my hairlines always been crooked on the right side so getting this will make my hairline hopefully better than it was before hairloss lol

How strict are they with shaving the whole head? The doctor told me through email that they must cut all the hair off but I don’t want to lol I want to be able to hide it and I see that you didn’t shave your entire head so do they ask first or?

Interesting...you've lost hair on top/crown but looks like temples/hairlines developed new hair ? whats meds are you still currently on ? and what happened to your interest in in HMR?
Still interested in HMR but waiting to be at least a year on fin to see what I can grow back I would only do the temples not the crown or anything else he quoted me 1600 grafts will probably end up doing it next year

Do you have pictures with your hair spiked up? You could try to get a small fue transplant since you seem to have thick hair and have controlled your hairloss

It’s a reaction channel but he seems like a nice guy but he doesn’t show any results he does at his clinic so who knows how skilled he is as a hair surgeon , Derek channel is awesome he highlights actual studies and shows proof

Hello I had posted on this forum before regarding my hairloss but recently found out that some of it is not due to mpb but also vitiligo on my scalp, in the middle of my scalp Theres a patch of thin hair that grows out grey and the skin there was whiter my derm said that it’s vitiligo, my temples are due to mpb but not the scalp patch and was wondering what Norwood am I and how many grafts I would need to fill in my temples, and if it’s even possible to transplant hair in a spot where vitiligo is present, I have had this spot since I was a teen so I believe it’s stable and hasn’t spread but now hair there doesn’t grow due to the fact that my immune system attacked the skin there so it has a paler color below are pictures of my hair and my donor and the results I want to achieve, currently I’m on fin and topical fin and I dermaroll once a week I know my case is unique because there’s no cases about transplanting hair where vitiligo is located I also drew what I want to

Yeah I can understand that. Perhaps it varies from patient to patient. Everyone’s hair loss situation is unique. Wouldn’t hurt to ask Dr. Cortez if you can get by without shaving your head.
Let me know how Finasteride works for you. I’m a little hesitant to take it (although I know it works) due to the side effects. This is the first time I’ve had a full head of hair in years, and it would be a shame to waste it if other certain “things” don’t work lol.
I was hesitant too but since I’m still very young I have no choice but to take it now my dad is a Norwood 5 and I’m probably a Norwood 2 rn I was on topical finasteride but recently started noticing thinning in the crown so I hoped on finasteride barely yesterday if I get side effects I’ll just take half a pill instead of one but we shall see but I’m definitely going to hmr next year, is the area safe where the clinic is at? Do they pick you up? Thanks

Both me and my friend got our surgeries there a week apart and they shaved both his and my head. There wasn’t an option not to.
I can’t imagine it would look very good if you don’t shave it all though. It would probably look pretty strange with some areas with scabs and other areas with normal looking hair. I say let them shave it all off and wait patiently for the results. You won’t be disappointed!
On the YouTube videos for some that went there they didn’t have to shave their heads but they only needed the hairline fixed that’s where I found out about hmr they look like they do an excellent job at a great price too, my hairloss is only in the hairline mostly when I emailed dr Cortez in February he said I needed 1500 grafts but I want to get on fin for a year before I go and would prefer to not shave my head completely since it’s just my temples that need hair

Looks great 👍 I want to do mine there too have seen great results will probably book it for next year once I’m on fin for a year, do they give you the option to shave your head completely or not?

I also feel stubble on the hairline but don’t know if that’s new growth or existing hairs miniaturizing if anyone has any answers for that?

Keep at it.
For what it's worth I'd try oral finasteride to see if you can tolerate any sides.
Well I want to try the topical precisely to avoid any symptoms
