UPDATE
I can feel quite a lot of prickly hairs coming through, so hopefully things are heading in the right direction.
However...I am still unable to use Minoxidil due to fairly bad skin reactions on my face. Any suggestions?
Thank you for your posts and updates. When did the swelling start to get bad? And when did it go away ?

I have been told to reserve judgement till next July. However, I can say the misery of dealing with his office operations is worthy of breaking the deal, even now.
I let the convenience of geography (I'm a San Jose native), his Youtube videos, and the testimony of a childhood friend stop me from doing the obsessive diligence I normally do when I make decisions. The devil is always in the details however. You're an engineer, so you didn't make that mistake.
Whoa! I am also a San Jose native myself! Born and raised. Moved to Mountain View for work and now in Atlanta also for work. I was really close to picking Diep 👌🏼 as I dated a receptionist there (she was very pushy like an old car salesman) and being so close to Los Gatos. A few hours of research in regards to Diep quickly convinced me to look elsewhere.I see your hair has improved significantly, hoping for the best!!

Just get ready for the pain. The first week after surgery was pain free. The 2nd & 3rd weeks were the worst. After that, just some shards of piercing intermittent pain that would quickly go away. Get some 98%-100% aloe vera gel (not lotion with aloe vera). Helps tons. Have those pain killers ready to keep pain at bay. When it comes to pain, best to keep it at bay than to work to alleviating it.
I saw in your video that you paid $13/graft with Konior. I paid $8/graft, though normally Dr. Diep charges $10/graft. I was curious what he charged. But all things considered, Konior's work is world class and it shows. Congrats man!
If you had a chance to do it all over again with Diep would you? Curious why you didn’t go with someone like Rassman or Hassan and Wong.

It may be too late but it looked real close to the top of your eyebrows.
Maybe you can still work the fluid up and to the sides using your first two ✌️ fingers, but it will take time.
I did use ice packs.
I had a klingon head for about 5 days but avoided the puffy eyes.
Ah man!! Thanks I’ll get started on that. Appreciate the heads up.

Just saw your latest video.
I would be massaging that swelling and trying to work the fluid down the sides of your face instead of your eyelids. I had a tough time doing that on my first surgery but it did work, but you've gotta keep on it all the time.
Thanks! Do you mean start massaging now or wait until I get more swollen? Did you also use an ice pack?

Can't wait to see the donor pics. Everything else looks spectacular already!
Hey! I just went through your post! I had a chance to “peek” my donor area today and it looks fine. The extraction areas are closing really well. If they remove my covering tomorrow then I will absolutely posts pictures of my donor area.
-
@jimcraig152thank you so much for your detailed posts. I recently had a procedure done 2 days ago (Konior) and I have not faced anything that you have. The pain that you have been feeling weeks after in your donar area is absolutely concerning to me.

Day two update short and sweet

Nice documentation! How many days did you stay in the country?

Wow, $50 a week, $200 a month, just in the 5yrs from 23 to 28 that would be $2400 x5 =$12,000!!
Your poor barber is going to have to work some extra years before he can retire all because you just had to get a HT!
Ha! I had actually shaved my head completely at like 25 for a year. I just got fed up with the maintenance. My family was not very receptive so I grew my hair back.

Hey! Good question, I had to get a haircut every Saturday. As you can imagine $50 all in with a tip for a haircut once a week can get every expensive. After around ten days without a haircut it would look like the first two pictures.

Update for all those asking for pictures of my donor hair: unfortunately I have to have the wrapping on the back of my head for another day. I did get to see the back of my head, and wow it was really hard to find the areas where they grafts were pulled from.

I will most likely require 4000-5000 grafts. Dr Diep recommended FUT, but I've been considering FUE more and more. Diep told me I'd need multiple surgeries to do 3500+. I just heard back from H&W and they have suggested FUE for the same graft count above. Only factor is, cost wise FUE with H&W is about double Dieps FUT. Have folks here had good surgeries on a budget? I've heard lots of good and bad things about Turkey, but it's really enticing cost wise.
I'm located in San Francisco but the more I think about it, I'm pretty open to going anywhere at this point. I've waited over a year for Diep and now don't even get email responses and my surgery is coming up in Jan.I would encourage you to really research Dr Diep. I know that he is really close to you and I but I would not let that be a factor at all. While I have seen some amazing results by him, I have also seen some bad results. I decided to not consider Diep because If I were to get one of those bad results I’d be incredibly frustrated due to the price. And on top of that he did not seem willing to work with the patients who were not satisfied once he got your money. Hassan and Wong are amazing and I have read about Rahal in Toronto, although I did not really research him in depth.

This is my update on my first day after surgery. Took this after my visit and clean up 🧼

I think the results look good for where you started. However, once I read that you have over 3000 grafts I’m concerned because I’d expect a really nice frontal view of that makes sense.

Wow that’s crazy! I think it looks really nice! Good luck!

Beautiful hairline design, and what looks to be exceptional native hair calibre.
I'm confident this is going to turn out to be on par with the amazing FUExpert results showcased on Couto's youtube channel - looking forward to following your progress.Thank you, the doctor kept emphasizing that my hair was thick and as a result I should expect a thicker fuller look with his procedure.

Hey guys. I am looking for good doctor in Chicagoland Area. I had a consultation today at International Hair Transplant. Dr Carlos Puig has several law suits and is not a part of this group. I was told that I need 2500 units and it would cost $11,250 with FUE method. What do you guys know about Dr. Carlos Puig? Who should I see next?
I actually just got my procedure done with Konior yesterday!! Yes, the waitlist and price is crazy. Here are my comments around my experience with Konior.

Hey boss @forge3012 I am also from the west coast. San Francisco to be exact, is there a reason why you are limiting your options to that area? I just got my procedure done with Dr. Konior, who has been nothing short of incredible, he is in Chicago so around a 4-5 hour flight.

I’ll try to posts my updates here but will probably be better if you follow me on Reddit or YouTube
