  1. Goodvibes who did the hair transplant? At only 3.5 months you have a lot of time and a lot of healing ahead of you. I have a lot of scars along my hairline, temples and in the donor area and they do improve over time. The hair that has been implanted will also help negate any concerns you have as it continues to grow in the future. I'm positive that the longer you wait the better the result will turn out and you won't be worrying about it! All the best!

  2. Never decide on a hair transplant if it is based on a strict budget. History has shown that you will spend many times the cost of your original budget to repair the initial procedure (not to mention the psychological loss). You need to have a plan from the very beginning based on your hair supply/demand ratio over the life span. You need to work backwards and not look at the costs in the rear view mirror, but through the windscreen of where you are going with this in the final result. Research, research and more research. All the best.

  3. Just following this thread now and the results of a hair transplant (one that is a state of the art result) would mirror what you have achieved by going down the medication path alone! I would stick with what you are doing religiously!!!! If that means increasing doses, switching to dutasteride  under medical supervision, etc, etc, then stay the course assuming side effects are controllable. A hair transplant is a last resort. Currently you have no scars, no failed procedures, no over harvested donor areas, you are not left as a repair case, etc! Any and all of these scenarios we have all seen too often before. What you currently have, which would be a potential hair transplant candidate's 'dream come true' is a natural looking head of hair!!!!! No hair transplant would surpass what you have in density as well. All the best.

  4. That journalist summarizes that from a couple of studies that hair loss could be due to anxiety, nutrition, etc from Covid 19, etc, etc. I am not disputing that Covid 19 may cause hair loss. I just think it's too early to say. Does the hair grow back if it is caused by Covid 19? I think I would be more concerned about getting Covid 19 myself.

  5. You are not alone. But firstly this is why I would never go to Turkey. I too had a hair transplant at 19. In fact I had two hair transplants 6 months apart. And they were horrible. They were punch graft procedures that look like 'doll's hair' or rows of corn fields. Your hair transplant looks natural but you really should have been rejected due to your age and it just highlights the ongoing criminality in this industry of continuing to perform hair transplants on teenagers!!!!!! But firstly you need to reach out as you have done. Feel free to pm me as I was in your exact situation at your age. The only difference was that I had the whole lot surgically taken out in a strip procedure leaving me with a horrible strip scar along the top of my forehead (not to mention the scars in the back donor region). All I wanted was 'more surgery' in the hope that it would hide the front scar (and my continuing baldness). Thank God it never happened. You need to stop for a moment and take a deep breath. Exhaust your options with finasteride and minoxidil and continue this. You have a natural result in the hairline (as opposed to plugs). Also I take it that you had FUE so you won't have horrible strip scars in the donor region. You need to also get in touch with people like Eugenix who can offer you options (other than immediate hair transplant surgery) to support you through what you are going through. You don't have only two weeks to make a decision. That's how you're feeling now because you are in a state of panic which is normal but will only end up in making bad decisions that can haunt you for the rest of your life. This response to your post doesn't allow for the range of options you need to look at (outside of surgery at this stage and age). This community is here for people exactly like you in this situation so please take advantage of it.

I guess the Aussie government is right that transplants are not a matter of life or death..... Theyre far more important than that 😂

🤣🤣🤣🤣 👍 Well said Zoomster (and well done on your results from your last update!!!). Yes unfortunately the latest update from our Prime Minister is that there will be no overseas travel for Australian citizens until there is a vaccine!! So by the time I get to Eugenix at this stage many of you who have had a hair transplant will be looking like ZZ Top! Anyway patience has always been one of my virtues since my first hair transplant disaster so things may change earlier than later with a bit of luck. Stay well everyone!

  7. Zoomster what can I say? This has to be the best 'one and done' for a Norwood 6 that I have ever seen. On top of that, you have incredible coverage and naturalness, which is what every patient (regardless of where they are with their hair loss) can only aspire to. You look a good decade or more younger and you still have months ahead of you to top it all off. Very happy for you and thanks for keeping all of us updated!

  8. Hi Niko,

I'm from Melbourne, Australia and I have had consults with Dr Vikram and Dr Knudsen along with many other hair transplant surgeons in Australia. You have wavy/curly hair which will be an asset in your results. The FUT scar looks very clean. Did Dr Vikram tell you how many more grafts you still have available if you were wanting another procedure down the track? Thanks for sharing and I look forward to your updates.

  9. Thanks for all the people who chimed in above. Yes the problem I see is not just being able to get a ticket out of Australia but also being able to get back into Australia. The current state of affairs is that international travel is only for special reasons (and wanting to have a transplant doesn't come under that). There is also the 14 day quarantine period at your own expense. On top of this, Australia is not letting many Aussies back into Australia at the moment. There is one Aussie guy I saw on the news that is stuck in the Philippines who does not have the virus and is willing to pay for everything. He is still waiting for an answer from the Australian government on when he can return home.

  10. Hey everyone. I just wanted to post to see if anyone else like me is feeling a little concerned about when international travel will resume? I was hoping to book an appointment with Eugenix in early March but I had just missed the boat. That time or even just prior would have been ideal with all the lock downs going on around the world. I live in Melbourne, Australia and we are back in a lock down apart from essential services. No one has a crystal ball but I personally can't see international flights commencing for at least another year (perhaps longer)?

I’m glad it worked out for you, but for thousands it doesn’t. Not only do they spend thousands more to get it fixed, they end up out thousands of grafts, which can’t be replaced. Donor supply is not infinite my friend.

That's something some people need to realize. Without a donor supply you won't be able to have a hair transplant or in the case of many botched ones from Turkey even less donor to repair. You want to give yourself the maximum chance of coming out with the best results possible. That's just not going to happen if you are one of ten or more patients being worked on in just one day.

  12. I am 100% with Melvin on this subject. Every hair transplant surgeon has performed a hair transplant that went pear shaped. Even the best of the best have. The reasons are varied right down to unrealistic expectations of the patient or not picking up mental health issues such as Body Dysmorphic Disorder, etc. A hair transplant should be your last resort and remember it is surgery. If I had to have a kidney transplant the first thoughts that would go through my mind would be issues like how successful would the outcome be? How long will it last? Will there be any scaring, how much will this cost me, etc. Yet when it comes to something that you have to live with and look at in the mirror for the rest of your life, people think of the money first! To me that's back to front thinking. 30% of most top hair transplant surgeons around the world now involves repair work (if they are lucky enough to be helped). Do your research and you find that a either a Syrian refugee or an ex barber may not be the best person to be involved in performing a hair transplant on you.
