  1. Hey Aaron, Of course not, my only goal is to keep my sides and do a little transplant (about 700 grafts) in the hair temple points. I will NEVER be able to get 20% of the Destiny that I want with HT and I am aware but because my donor/sides are effected I am trying to find a solution for my genes. With hair piece I live my self perfectly fine, no one knows I am wearing (Transferred from Toppik to hair piece) and I do it my self so maintenance is cheap and easy. People are looking to keep their hairlines/crown etc, I just want my sides 🤣😭
  2. By "serum DHT" do you mean the oilness in my scalp? like, if I touch my scalp before shower it's extremely oily, I swear it's like three tablespoon of oil. Is that the serum people are speaking about?
  3. Thanks a lot for your response! It gives me tons of hope. You wrote : "Finasteride is probably benefiting you. Maybe not as much as the average person," I truly believe it didn't do anything, I was losing at least 200-300 hairs daily, under microscope examination I had tons of miniaturized hairs, two and half years after Propecia it was the same. I think when you lose your hair when you are 15-16 it's so aggressive that even Propecia doesn't do anything. Now I am already slicked bald at the top, but want to maintance my sides/nape/donor so I can continue wearing my hair piece. I am losing about 150 hairs daily on my donor and again, after microscope examination I was diagnosed with DUPA. Do you think there is a chance that Avodart would help? Even if it won't stop completely at least slow down/keep 50% of my donor? Or there is a chance it won't do anything (Which I can't understand why since it's supposed to block 90%). Thanks!
  4. Unfortunately pictures won't help because I am wearing hair system and cutting my hair in a way that the sides and back looks thick (I am losing 200 hairs from my sides and back daily). All my family, over 20 males are Norwood 7 with thin sides, I must find a way to keep my sides and since Propecia didn't help I don't know what will, I am willing to take anything just to save my donor so I can continue wearing my hair system.
  5. Hi guys, I am one of those guys who started to lose their hair when they were 15-16. All my family are Norwood 7 and as most of you know, people with aggressive hairloss as mine usually are not getting any benefit from Propecia (It didn't slow my hairloss at all, I am almost Norwood 7 at 24). The reason I want to take Dutasteride is to save my donor which is also effected by DHT. I have spoken with few recommended doctors here and they all advices me to try since I haven't got any side effects from Fin. Do you think I have any hope with Dutasteride? Anyone actually switched from Fin to Dutasteride and saw any benefit? I really want to save my donor so I can have HT in the future, since my donor is sensitive to DHT under microscope examination docs said Dutasteride is the only choice to stop it since it blocks over 90%. On the other hand I read tons of posts that people claimed it did nothing to their hairloss and then I am asking my self, if it blocks over 90% DHT and the reason we lose hair is because our body transfer Testerone to DHT and Dutasteride is basically blocking Everything then how it makes sense? Hope someone call clarify this for me and also share his benefits with Dutasteride over Propecia. Thanks a lot!
  6. Amazing... My skin color is the same as yours, I was worried about FUE scars too but its pretty much invisible when getting it done by good doctor, would you ever thinking to take another 4k FUE and just fill the gaps with BHT/SMP? It seems like your donor will remain extremely well even after additional 4-5k if you are willing to add destiny with SMP or some beard.
  7. Hey Phil! Thank you so much bfor your detailed response!!! He was taking Propecia for 3 years with zero effect so he just stopped. "If the plan is to transplant 1000 grafts with the assumption they will eventually fail, then touch them up periodically, your brother also needs to take into account that scarring occurs in the recipient area as well when you transplant the hairs, and with each successive touch up transplanting the region becomes progressively harder and harder to do with greater risks attached." This is something I didn't know, however, let's say he starts with 1,000 FUE (The doctor will take unminiaturized grafts only), since the area is unstable you won't be able to tell which of those grafts will survive at the future, in case touch-up is necessary and I am 99% sure it will be necessary then he can have another surgery few years after with few hundreds grafts. I understand the risks of course BUT in case his final stage is just thin sides/donor but not completely bald, would it safe to say that SOME grafts will remain? The thing with hair system, I'd he transplant 50grafts/cm2 in the first 1 CM and only 30 will remain, he will still be able to make it look 100% natural. I just don't understand one thing, a person with DUPA will still have remaining grafts on their donor, if those specific grafts that survived will be taken, would it be safe to say they will remain for good? I always read that people with unstable donor should stay away from HT and I clearly understand why buy if the goal is to have 1,000 grafts only that will remain under 2-3 different producers + The person is wearing hair piece for the rest of his life, would it be more acceptable? Thanks!!!
  8. Hi guys, I have spoke with few doctors already but I do want to hear your opinion about that. I am writing this thread on my brother behalf. He is Norwood 6, 28 years old with DUPA. When looking at family members, which all ended Norwood 6 (Over 20 members including cousins, uncles). 70% of them also have DUPA, they lost their nape area, their donor is thinner, but STILL have remaining grafts, I would say 50% are gone. It's perfectly stable now. My brother is wearing an hair piece, he committed it since he was 21 years old and won't discontinue. The idea is to transplant 1,000 grafts at the front hairline, FUE scars are not an issue (SMP, and he's actually a tattoo artist). If he is looking for 1,000 grafts ONLY and willing to go under even three surgeries (First surgery 1,000 FUE, picking best grafts, second FUE after few years touch-up of those grafts that fall, few years later around 40 another FUE). So eventually 1,000 grafts will remain. I know most may think it's crazy but this is something he is 100% comfortable with, with long term plan the only question is AS LONG there will be remaining hairs at the donor and not completely bald there, does this idea may work? And again, he needs only 1,000 grafts that will eventually survive and willing to roulette (And of course picking the best FUE grafts, not miniaturized each operation and just hope most will remain). Let me know your thoughts, I am unable to think on any risk since there is SMP to cover those scars + He is asking for 1,000 grafts only). Thanks!
  9. One of the most interesting threads I have ever seen. I wish you all the best, I have no doubt that the shocked hairs will re grew in 2 months max. I feel so stupid for doing laser hair removal on my chest and arms, I had maybe 8k grafts together no joke... I do still have plenty of legs hair, do you think those can be used safety with high survival?
  10. Hey guys, I know it's not possible to transplant over 50 grafts cm2 in a single surgery but let's say year/2 years later after the area has healed, does it possible to have another 50 grafts on the same area? (Let's say the person is Norwood 1, 65 years old with plenty of donor and not going to lose a single hair from his head).
  11. Hey brother! I sent you a PM. I know it will be behind you soon, I can send you photos of mine so you will have an idea what I am talking about.
  12. Hey buddy, How long after the surgery you started to wear hair system? Maybe that effected the results because of the harsh glue? Do you think your sides are still thinning? (if your trying to pull some hairs does it goes out easily?)
  13. You made me so happy now... My situation is different, I am not looking for full head of hair but just rebuild the hairline / temple points so my SMP will look natural as possible. All my family members are shedding in their donor (including the safe zone) BUT as mentioned all of them have at least 50% remaining hairs at sides (Nape area is gone completely). As long as it's possible to get only 500 healthy grafts using FUE from my entire donor then I am more than happy, that's all I need. Thanks for your comment!
  14. Hey guys, I hope someone can clarify this for me.I did FUT a year ago, I do suffer from aggressive retrograde alopecia (Which goes almost everywhere in my donor, including the "Safe zone").Many calls it DUPA but I don't know if that's the case since I first turned to Norwood 6 and only then started to thin in my sides, nap, etc. When looking at my family members (Uncles, cousins, brother), all are norwood 6-7, at least half of them have thinner sides but EVERYONE still have remaining hair at the sides of their hair. It's not as thick as it used to be, but there is still hair that is DHT resistant. My question is - Does doctor could pick only the BEST thick, unminiaturized grafts or he can't know what is miniaturized or not until he pull it off the scalp?I will appreciate your replies,Thanks in advance!!
  15. Hey guys, So I started to shed about a week ago, about 30% of the hairs, their bottom (The parts that comes out of the scalp), seems little curve, I am not sure what does it means but hopefully nothing bad, I haven't asked my doctor yet because I want to ask you if I have a reason to be worried about, I know grafts are supposed to be secured by now but what is the reason for the bottom part to look like so curve? I attached two photos, one hair alone and in the second picture you can see one normal hair vs one curved. Thanks in advance!!
